  1. I have a 2009 Centurion Avalanche and recently made a post and need some more help - This season when we put the boat in the water we are having a problem with the throttle idling the boat up. When we push the stick forward it will go into gear for maybe 2 seconds at the longest during these 2 seconds the boat idles up and and act like its going to take off. However, after that initial time the throttle cuts out and the boat goes into almost a limp mode. I have noticed that the red V-drive light never goes off. What makes this weirder is if I set the zero-off to a speed (lets say 15 MPH) That if I give the boat full throttle the zero off will catch and hold the boat at that speed. But with out using the zero off the boat will not stay idled up and have the transmission engaged. Anyone have any thoughts?
  2. Hello, New to the forum and the boating world. I recently picked up a 2003 Centurion Tornado Direct Drive. This is my first boat and we loved it last season. The tornado came with a stock rear ballast. Does anyone know what size (lbs) it might be. Also I measured out the compartment and can fit a much larger sack but am worried because it sits on top of the gas tank. Thoughts? I can’t find much on this boat. Also thoughts on surfing with this boat. Ya ya ya... I know it’s a direct drive and requires more weight but where and how much any other tips. Thank you
  3. seriously looking at a 2004 Enzo 230 And would like details on set up for wake surfing. It’s my understanding it has two ballasts that it came with. Should I add more? It has a four blade prop from wake makers. what should the 2000 for Enzo typically have on it? What should I be looking for?
  4. Hey everyone, new to the forums, I don't wish to whip a dead horse (I have researched for hours on here) but I haven't been able to find answers to questions about my recently acquired 2012 Enzo SV230 with Quick Fill ballast system. This boat is bone stock with no rear sacks, just the stock Quick Fill 500# rear tanks, mid-ship and bow bags! The stock wave with a load of peeps and gear is of course "ok" but not amazing and I'm going to add some more bags in the rear lockers and possibly a bit of lead. Of course everyone has their preferred setup but I am seeking "clean and simple" without bags on seats etc. I just traded an 08 Enzo that I absolutely loved but I'm done filling and draining bricks and wrestling them off of the upholstery etc. That being said I have turned this boat upside down looking for PNP connections with zero luck. I was hoping that I would be able to add either a couple of #750's or #1000 pounders in the rear lockers, hook them up and be done. So, a few questions....... *Where are the PNP fittings "usually" located and is there a site, pictures or video showing their approximate locations? *If for some reason if this boat didn't come equipped with PNP is there a clean layout published somewhere for adding two bags to the rear lockers? I need to set up for Port side surfing primarily but I do have some Darkside friends so I am going to be a nice guy :), and bag for them too. I would prefer a quick (ish) ballast transfer but I don't require maximum transfer speed if it requires a major system re-plumb. It currently has three main water inlets, one for the engine and two ballast inlet ports/pumps. I would be willing to add another pump to the center drain location if necessary. Thanks for any help you can offer!

  8. ***Newly minted crew member here. The wife and I just picked up our first Centurion (1999 Elite V with 360 hours) and I am struggling to find any concrete info online about this specific model. There appears to be some real variability in the hull design and options between 1998-2002 for the Elite model and I purchased it off Craigslist without an owner's manual. For example, this hull has some "transom pockets/cutouts" that I can't find any info on and didn't see on all models from this era. Do any of you helpful forum members know how to locate a PDF owner's manual? I emailed Fineline and they haven't reached out. Hoping also to set her up for a modest surf wave and will be investing in some rear locker ballast bags and a surf gate. Anyone with a similar model Elite V and some experience with a ropeless setup got advice? Thanks in advance all! I have been lurking in the forums for a few months and you all seem extremely helpful! Andrew
  9. Hey guys, I am fairly new to wake surfing, but have been wakeboarding my whole life. Just bought an 04 enzo sv230 and trying to dial in my surf wave. Looking to buy a new surf board to help progress my skills. I feel my current board is too big. I am 6 foot and 175-180lbs. Currently riding a hyperlite broadcast 5'4". Leaning towards a hybrid so I can learn some spins, but also airs. Any suggestions on the best board and board size for myself for the money would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
  10. Does anybody know where the coolant line is on a 2004 Centurion Enzo SV230? I am winterizing the boat and didn't know if this was the best way to funnel antifreeze into the engine block. Thanks!
  11. Winterization Checklist for 2004 Centurion Enzo SV230 Prior to this boat, I had a direct drive. I winterized each year on my own. Could anyone share their winterization checklists for a V-Drive? Also any information for draining/winterizing ballast. I have been reading some posts about draining the heater as well, but I wasn't sure if my 2004 model had that. Any information would great! Thanks
  12. Hey guys here asking for a bit of help. I have a 2003 Centurion Avalanche. The previous owner put a fiberglass swim deck on the boat. Which seems to mount on top of the original. Can anyone help with finding a replacement? It’s def seen better days. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance I tried posting a picture...but it says it to big.
  13. Guys, Does anyone know the location of the fuse panel in a 2004 enzo sv230? Thanks
  14. Hey guys, Anybody know the size (diameter) of the 2004 enzo sv230 Transom Drain plug. Wondering if it was a 1/2 inch? Looking into getting one of those drain plug underwater lights. Thanks!

  16. Guys, I am new to the forum as I just bought my first Centurion a couple weeks ago. It is a 2004 Enzo SV230. My current setup is the factory hard tanks under each side of the boat and 2 540 lb bags (one in each rear locker), plus a delta mission surf shaper. Those are all plumbed in. I own 2 350 lb bags that are not plumbed, but can be filled with a separate pump. Any ideas on the best weight set up to create a good surf wave with enough push? I am still struggling with throwing the rope and consistently staying in the pocket. Once I drift back, it is tough to push back forward. I am 6 foot, 180 lbs and riding a 5 foot 4 inch hyperlite broadcast. Any thoughts on a good board for me? I am fairly new to surfing, but have been wakeboarding my entire life. Thanks for all the input.
  17. Guys thinking of upgrading my ballast. I have an 04 Enzo sv230 Currently running factory mid ship ballast which totals about 400lbs. I’m running a 540 in each rear locker and a plug and play 350 in the bow and one surf side. Thoughts on what I should upgrade to? Looking to get a longer wave with a little more push. Tossed around the idea of 2 Enzo sacks but they’re so expensive. If anyone has some they’d like to sell and ship, I can Venmo!? Thanks!
  18. My wife and I just purchased a 1996 Centurion Elite Bowrider that is in AMAZING condition. It did come with a 500# ballast bag with pump as well as a surf/suck gate thing Ive read mixed reviews regarding the “surfability” of the direct drive boats and wanted to reach out to some Centurion owners. I’m mainly a wakeboarder but ever since I went wake surfing a couple years ago I’ve been hooked! I also enjoy slalom skiing. Whats going to be the best way to make a decent surf wave behind my boat?? I appreciate your guidance!

  20. There may be a thread out there addressing this so redirect me if this horse has been beaten.... Looking for how folks have setup pre-surf system era boats to get the best wave. My boat is 21' 6'' long and 93 inches across. I have a 200 lb. built in ballast running up the middle and a 250lb tank in each V Drive locker also built into the boat. There is generally 250 lbs. of sandbags in the bow that can be thrown around as needed depending on whether we are wakeboarding or surfing. I keep 100 lbs. of lead on board at all times for small adjustments. I have a DIY surf shaper and am also trying to determine how to best use that new device. To answer the obvious question: I am open to getting more ballast in any form/shape/size. I really want to know how to most to effectively place it within the boat to maximize the wave my smaller boat can throw out. Looking for very specific setups and pics if possible...
  21. My 2012 Avalanche had dead batteries when I came back to the lake after a week away. The batteries were original, manufactured in 2011. I got it started with a booster, but the check engine light was on, and it seemed to be running rough. The dealership suggested that was just due to low voltage. I replaced the batteries today and put it back on the water. It started fine, but the check engine light remains on. It would go off when i got up to higher speeds and RPMs, but as soon as I pulled back on the throttle, it came on again and remained on. It would go off again when I hit high speeds and RPMs. Any ideas why? or how to get rid of the problem?
  22. The internet is awash with how-to's for DIY wave shapers that all more or less have the same fatal flaw......they are based on mounting bracket platform that cause a 90* angle. I tried two iterations (90* and 70*?) of my wedge with this platform unsuccessfully prior to trying a new design. Effect on the wave was awesome (regular and goofy) but the hard angle applies too much pressure to the suction cups and struggles to stay on for the length of a surf session. Riding through other boats chop really seemed to unsettle the suction cups. Pic below is my original design with standard 90* angle. No pictures of the 2nd iteration. I'll be adding photos and process of my next iteration for a <$40 wave shaper with pictures, parts, and assembly directions. Who else out there has built one and what did you do better/differently? Floating attachments? Better suction cups? Etc.?
  23. So, just bought this boat. Want to get it set up for surfing on regular side. It currently has the three built in tanks.. v fat sacks in the front, and 2 rear fat sacks. None of the sacks are plumbed in, and right now I am not sure how much weight they all hold. I have looked at some threads here and it seems like this is what people are doing... 1100 in port locker 580 under port seat 260 under port side bow seat Wavemakers is suggesting a TankBuster Upgrade which looks like 750lbs in the port locker. https://www.wakemakers.com/centurion-tankbuster-750-ballst-system-upgrade.html Here is the boat... https://www.kijiji.ca/v-view-details.html?adId=1418252423 Thanks for the help so far!!
  24. Hey guys! First post here but I know I’ve come to the right place! It’s finally time I can justify upgrading my boat to something surfable! I’ve been looking around for the past year or so, comparing different options in my price range ($40k-$50k) and have pretty much made up my mind - an Enzo. Tahoe gets gnarly so the deep V will help a lot with that and I’ll take all the freeboard I can get. I don’t always have a big crew, usually only 4-5 people and often a dog or two so I don’t “have” to have the biggest boat but I hate being cramped so I’d like all the room I can get. That being said, I’m wondering which model would work best for Lake Tahoe and also, any features that are must haves or years or features to avoid. Tahoe is at 6,200ft so performance is something to consider. From what I’ve read, the SV230 requires substantially less ballast than the SV240 to get a proper wave. With that in mind am I wrong to assume that the 230 would have better performance with the same engine? Obviously I’ll ensure to prop correctly but I’d like to set myself up for success wherever possible. Ideally, I’d love to find a 244 or 233 as we rarely use our bow and would really enjoy the extra room in the cockpit. Maybe the 233 would be perfect as it should take less weight, and probably has as much cockpit space as the 240? The problem here is that it’s really hard to find a 233 or 244 within my price range. I wish I could just bite off a little more but our season is short and I have a lot of other hobbies competing for my interest. I just really can’t justify it. So, which boat would you recommend? Should I automatically omit any of these with the small engine? Any and all advice is welcomed! Thanks in advance!!
  25. Looking for some help. Just bought a brand new Fi23 with 450 motor and surfing at 5500ft in elevation. It has the high alt prop 16x13. the boat has the all the additional Plug an Play Ballast. This boat will not get to surf speed with two 200lb men and two 120 lb women and full Ballast. I have to dump the two Bow tanks and about 30% of the Ram fill to get to 10.8 MPH. Is this normal?? I would think this boat should be able to surf with full ballast.?? Right?? Should I be looking for a new Prop? I would think the 450 should be plenty of power but its not getting us there....My dealer is NO HELP! Very upsetting! Any info would be much appreciated! Sold my X35 MC to buy this boat. I have Lots of surf experience in other boats, just new to Centurion.
