1 pointThe new steering wheel looks better in person for sure - I wasn't crazy about it in photos but it is really nice when you see it, especially because it fits really well with the rest of the boat and the new interior. The paddle shifters are really a big improvement over the earlier controls and and much nicer both in looks and feel.

1 pointI'm sure it could be a bit better if you dial it in right - that was actually the first time we ever looked at the ski wake on a Ri257 - not too shabby. I have a Carbon Pro so I won't be skiing behind any of the new surf boats anytime soon...

1 pointI keep a boat hook on board, you never know what you'll need it for. Docking, picking stuff out of the water, whacking a misbehaving kid that's in the bow while you're driving...

1 pointIts not too hard, at least with the Mavic its pretty easy. You can also get landing gear extenders on amazon for like 10 bucks. Im always scared I'm gonna rip the vinyl on the rear lockers where I land, so having an extra couple inches is nice. (i know know thats what she said....)

1 pointI arrive Wednesday night. I'll be in a 40' centurion motor home right above h2o school. Come say hi or I'll find ya! 257s aren't easily missed ?

1 pointYeah, not crazy about the new steering wheel. I liked the one from 2015 the most.

1 pointOurs was the same from factory last summer. I split ours. Transom lights on accessory switch, and interior on the interior switch. Super easy with a jumper wire. I did it while floating out on the lake one day. Just took a length of wire a few crimp ends and wire strippers.

1 pointFor the audio signal.............yes. However, the amp need proper power cabling and a turn-on signal. If the size of the Rev-10 is an issue, then for a surf setup, you want to go with the Wet Sounds Icon-8. Same 8" size as the rev-8, but the Icon-8 is a traditional coaxial thats more ideal for surfing. With that said, yes the Rev-10 is a huge speaker, but id still consider them. Look at the mounting spots and consider the size. Amp for Icon-8 - Syn-DX2 Amp for Rev-10 - Syn-DX4

1 pointIf you really don't want to drill, I'd just zip tie a rocker switch or a push button switch up beneath the dash so its out of the way but you know where it is. I'd just route the surf lights to that switch.

1 pointIt may not even control cats. On the fi video it said the tabs controlled speed control and stinger plate. Cats is an option now for 2018 so maybe cats control is by screen only. Personally I like having the cats control on steering wheel as it's so easy to adjust while cruising down the lake to adjust for people. I also prefer the older steering wheel over this new one.

1 pointWhy don't you play the video on your iPad and pause it in good spots to take screen grabs and then you'll have the pics to post? Easier than uploading videos

1 pointOur lakes here are busy as well, not so busy that I cant surf most of the day, but the water gets choppy and the etiquette is atrocious. Lots of boats way too close. I really need to get the Ronix Thruster 5'7", the dart is great for the smaller folks that are learning, but about 40% less push than the Thruster which puts me way up on nose past the grip. Still tossing the rope, just not alot of margin for error vs the Thruster. Burned 30 gallons of fuel today. Sheesh. Dont mind the boat payment, its the gas that will eat you up.

1 pointThat's not just floating idle hours. That is also the time you spend idling back to your rider to pick them up etc. I always turn my boat off when not moving and was surprised to see how many idle hours I had on my boat till I figured out it was all the time slowly returning to rider and them setting up etc.

1 pointI made the jump to hexa and it works great, easy to adjust feet but grips great, all my surfing buddies were sceptical as well but love it . Light weight, graphics show thru . Good stuff

1 pointWow! Great pics and vids everyone!! Holy cow Nate!... That boy of yours has sure grown! Took another second place finish at the Northwest Wakesurf Open. Probably the largest number of competitors in one division in any of the competitions. 17 riders. One of them being a fellow Crew member: Fivebar. Broke into three separate heats. Top two from each heat advanced. Three day event. Day one, I placed first in my heat and second overall. Day two, I placed first overall with my best contest run to date! So I went into the finals against five other amazing riders on day three and kinda crapped the bed. Either way, I had a blast! Got out yesterday for some fun and boosted a couple decent airs. And almost took a fin up the butt! LOL
