Love to see kids involved like this....been trying to get my daughters to try surfing and bought them a ZUP board to get used to it. 1 is standing up on it now....so I have high hopes, but don't want to push them too hard and make them have a bad first experience and ruin future chances.

True! don't push. My boy has been wakeboarding for about 3+ years. This is the first year I could get him to try the surf board. With this being his third trip out and he went ropeless he had a smile that was unforgettable. Also this was the first year I think he had enough weight to actually get up on the board.

My daughter wants to try surfing by herself so much but she can't flip the board yet. So she gets to surf with me :-). She started actually wakeboarding this year. She is so cute back there. Before it was just me holding the board from the swim platform while we are moving and teaching her how to balance and hold the rope. 

Our key was very slow, don't push and let them ask to try. When they say they are done, they're done. Now the problem is getting enough time to surf myself.  LOL

We created our first surf bowl yesterday. Centurion FS44 with regular wave and Supreme S238 with goofy wave. We were running about 10.3 mph gps upstream so about 12 mph water speed. The wind and chop had picked up so they kept the ropes for this attempt. Was really fun.

Skipped out of work on Friday for a great time and to roll 200.  This should have happened two months ago but Doctors just do not know what fun is.  Could not have asked for a better day on the water.  Also got another person up for the first time and hooked on surfing.  Smiles from ear to ear.

My son just got a new board, the Phase 5 Race.  I just posted about it in the equipment section, but had to post it up here.  This video was early on when he was just learning it but it was fun to see him progress so fast!  I think he's officially better than me.  He needs sponsors

Holy cow Nate!... That boy of yours has sure grown! 

Took another second place finish at the Northwest Wakesurf Open. Probably the largest number of competitors in one division in any of the competitions. 17 riders. One of them being a fellow Crew member: Fivebar. Broke into three separate heats. Top two from each heat advanced. Three day event. Day one, I placed first in my heat and second overall. Day two, I placed first overall with my best contest run to date! So I went into the finals against five other amazing riders on day three and kinda crapped the bed. Either way, I had a blast! 

Got out yesterday for some fun and boosted a couple decent airs. 

And almost took a fin up the butt! LOL
