post-474-0-76784400-1476818602_thumb.jpgMy first boat I had I bought in 1984 and it was a 1973 Las Vegas Stardust 19 foot deep V hull Jet boat with a 455 olds engine. It was a great starter boat for me and my Wife back then. It came with a removable hard top and it could do 65 mph and then some. Great ski boat and I fish out of it a lot.

Then in 1999 I bought a 99 bayliner 2050 Capri open bow. It was OK for the time only cost 21,000, but it was a every rough riding boat that on busy weekends I hated taking it out because it would beat me up and always heard my Wife in the back yelling SLOW DOWN. It wasn't till 2005 when my friend bought a 2005 AVY and he let me drive it. I love the feel and how it walk smoothly over the rough water and then I heard the words that I thought I would never think I would hear coming from my Wife " I love this boat we need to get a boat like this" I could believe my ears and turned to her and said; what did you say. She replied " you heard me.

The next weekend 7/10/2005 we went to the dealer and saw this boat 2005 Enzo SV230 and I thought my Wife wouldn't want to pay this much and she Surprised me again and said; I love this one and the rest is historypost-474-0-58730100-1476818822_thumb.jpg

In order of ownership...

1988 Bayliner Capri 1750 w/85 hp outboard bought in 2003. Learned to kneeboard and wakeboard behind this boat and generally fell in love with all things lake related. Learned proper boating techniques and etiquette but unfortunately quickly outgrew it as we desired a bigger wake and found we had friends with the same interests.

2001 Mastercraft X30 that we bought in 2005 I think. Great wakeboard wake and had enough room for our close friends to hang out comfortably. Discovered wakesurfing and quickly discovered that wave did not hold the same potential as the wakeboard wake did. Also started having driveline issues over 2 seasons that the dealer was never able to truly pinpoint.

2008 Centurion Enzo SV230 bought new in July 08. Love this boat and we have a ton of great memories from our 8 years of ownership. Discovered what wakesurfing can truly be behind a great boat once you get the ballast configuration dialed in. Made many upgrades over the years and got to introduce many new people to a sport that we truly love. Never had any major issues with this boat...did have to be towed in once due to a water pump bearing going bad but Centurion made good on its warranty and got us back in the water by the very next weekend. ? that boat and a part of me will always miss it.

2016 Centurion FS44. Current boat that has only been in our possession for the last 9days and I am blown away by this boat and everything it is capable of. As good as a rough water ride our 08SV was this is better which is good because in Okoboji Iowa we get a lot of wind and big boat chop. A much drier ride and as it is fall here the heater and heated driver seat have been a huge plus! Now there is the wave... it's legendary status preceded the boat. I had never experienced the wave until our on water demo and it's ridiculous. I can't say enough about it in my 2 short surf rides behind this monster. I am stoked to have made the plunge to this boat and look forward to some great years in this boat just as we did in our first centurion!!!

We started with a 2012 Yamaha jet boat. 242 Ltd S. We bought it new and used it for tubing, and wakeboarding. As we started to like watersports more than tubing we decided to upgrade. So in Dec 13 we ordered our first Wake Boat. 2014 Malibu 24 MXZ.

The Malibu was a great family boat, i love the giant bow as we have people up there almost every outing. This boat was a POS though, i never had it a single day where it was problem free. It had a warranty list at delivery, and still had a huge list of issues, when Malibu bought it back. Yes Malibu did a buy back, as long as i ordered a new boat. Sooo 1 year 235 hrs later....

Next boat 2015 Malibu 24 MXZ, this boat was awesome, we really discovered surfing on our 2014, but the 2015, with power wedge 2 took it to a whole new level. I absolutly loved this boat, wakeboard wake is great, surfwave on my side (Goofy) is also really good, normal side is good not great. Downside it takes a huge amount of weight to get great surf wave with this boat. So 14 months in Mechanical problems start developing. The dealer honored warranty but claims i am partailly to blame due to ballast i run (5000 pounds)

By this time i have moved to where we surf almost exclusively, so time to check the field again. So we demoed an 2017 RI237, the wave on my side LOOKED virtually identical to my MXZ wave, same length, same hieght, BUT NOT THE SAME WAVE! WOW! The power/push of the centurion wave was significantly better, additionally this was a demo, not a dialed in owners boat, so there is some extra potential there. So we factored in how we use the boat, and what we are looking for in a boat and ordered an RI257. So currently i am technically boatless, but really looking forward to the new arrival

Darkside I had 2014 22MXZ same thing total crap. Warranty issues all day everyday and our dealer was very bad about everything in it and completely turned me off Malibus because of it. The 237 is great but now it's sold waiting for the 257 and I too am boatless and actually truckless too. 257 and F350 are both on order. It's going to be a long winter playing this waiting game.

LOL I own them outright so i dont have any payments. The tige is my wifes boat and I bought back my FX22 after someone else had it because it was too good of a deal to pass up and I needed a non tige to ride ;) The RI237 is for sale at my dealership so it doesnt get any more hours on it and the FX22 will get surfed until someone buys it.

Its funny how Brand Loyal wake boat owners are. Much more than even trucks. Once people pick thier brand thats it....until their brand does something to make them change.
