Likely my last ride of the season, but I managed to finally ride out a 360! Started a video with progression, when I was getting close, but not riding out...

Done trigger pulled and first day in the books. More smiles from my family than I have seen I a long long time. I was finally back in my happy place.

Hey everyone, I wanted to share some photos of the Westland cover I got for my 2005 Lightning C4. I would've loved to have spent a pretty penny in getting a sewlong cover or some really fancy cover, but my wallet preferred going with Westland more! Long story short, I scored a great deal on the Westland cover on iBoats.com and purchased the cover that fit my model with the X-Treme Tower and covered the swim platform. I elected to go with the Sharkskin Premium fabric since it had a 7 year warranty and was supposed to be really good. Installing the cover was about as straight forward as you can get, but I must say, that thing was TIGHT! I hope it stretches, because the back right corner where the cover meets the swim platform barely makes it over. No need for anti-pooling poles. I used the supplied buckles and cinch straps. The cover comes well built and has two vents just past the front windshield. I'm happy to answer any questions you might have. Overall thoughts - I'm very happy with the cover, considering the price I paid and what I got. I don't know how it'll hold up, how it'll handle highway speeds, or how it vents moisture. Only time will tell.

Hey Nick, after talking with RHunt I think the issue is that your mirror (and his) are so much bigger than mine, you can't mount it above the driver's head. So get a smaller one or leave it in the walkthrough or wherever you prefer it. And send me two of the Rigid lights

The problem I have with in front of the driver is visibility. My mirror takes up the entire space. So, how many times have you all caught a fin to the forehead, or is your crew all <5ft tall?? ;-)

Well it's funny you so that, my wife uses the bolster also but my cheap little mirror has a lot of adjustability so she just rotates it back a couple notches and then left or right as needed. My tint is definitely not as dark as yours, but on some days it is hard to see through and looking over the windshield is still not a problem. Maybe next time we're out I'll take a pic of her driving and using the mirror. It's so siimple, but it's hard to explain in words. I did notice some of those mirror mounts will not adjust in 3 planes like mine, maybe that is the issue

Well Nate my wife uses the bolster seat and would be looking right at herself with it in that spot. The windows are so dark on this boat it's really hard to see threw them when the sun is behind us.

Man, those Rigid's are BRIGHT! I just have the cheap CiPPA mirror that came with my boat but I just mount it right above my head. Once adjusted properly, all I have to do is look up and can see the rider perfectly. And it's nowhere near the walkthrough. Not sure why this is an issue, perhaps when you're on the water towing you'll see what I'm talking about. Here's a pic I snapped a couple weeks ago. We're at wakeboarding speeds here, but for surfing I just adjust it slightly:

I had that mirror and swapped it out for a 180 degree mirror. I played around with everywhere and the best I could come up with was the walkthrough. We leave the glass shut and the dam out and get plenty of air flow: I use the PTM mount for the mirror: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00C9V1RJG

Nice, I might have to try that. I should've mentioned I pull very few goofy riders so hasn't been a huge issue.

Yep! Looking forward to joining that group. They are not happy about the ship jumpers.

After seeing one with a white hull the boat is growing on me it accents the lines well and also makes it look bigger. Fi23 demo Thursday

I love the downfire! The amps need to be adjusted, then it sounds great. I do agree the the wake/wave didn't look great, but also keep in mind 21' boat. Compared to other 21' boats, it's pretty impressive. Look at this and compare to 21VLX no comparison!

I like the look of what you did, very similar to what is on the FI23 for 2018...only it has turned down edges on outside (see pic). I would assume the edge is to help the boat track straight, not sure why that would be needed tho, so maybe there is a different reason. Since you are making a new plate, thot I would share in case you find it helpful.

Well if you don't want a pontoon or I/O then go for the Supreme. It's a badass boat. It's my third boat and by far my favorite. Best build quality and best wave in its price point. IMO. I have zero regrets with it. To get started surfing it's good. Once you figure that out. Add lead, bigger ballast bags and you will unleash the big boy wave it's capable of.

All of the above are things we have been thinking about. Momma bear is not a pontoon fan in any way, shape or form, it was a thought. The I/O's we have looked at in our area we have not been impressed. My GOAL is to get out surfing and also to get the kids out doing the same, at this point in time we have never done it with nobody having a boat to surf behind but it is a GOAL. We all love the water and the family time, so just another way to get family and friends together to have a good time.
