I'm extremely happy with my ri. I was very disappointed in my sv244. My sv240 with switchblade was awesome. There is very little I dislike about my Ri.

 

However waiting for this 257 is driving me nuts

What about being over 4000 RPM's while surfing?

It's a weight and displacement thing. I surf port and run port ram/pnp full, starboard ram 80 pnp 40, full bow weight and 400 lbs lead with 5 to 6 crew. QS @ 50/55 and center between 50-60. Cats 20-30. RPM range 4000-4200. That is a lot of weight and counter forces to push the Ri to 12/12.6

Was the same on my 09 sv240 with the blade so I don't know any better.

 

I've been told to put my stock prop on and use quick launch... we'll see what happens next season.
