I wondered the same about the quiet tip exhaust, but ended up putting an FAE on my boat. Love how quiet it is. Its weird, usually no spray...but sometimes it will and I think its cause of the deep V hull creating that air pocket at surf speed, I can get spray to go away by adjusting my trim plate. If you go FAE on single exhaust....to make sure your heads do not shear off (some have had this issue), instead of the cork gasket, we put 3M 5200 sealant around it (put on thick) and also used grade 8 screws (also thru silicone) since stainless is a much softer metal and maybe helped the bolts shear. FAE has not budged, I have around 8hrs on it now. Larry also came out with some special washers that are curved so if you thru-bolt (which I will do this fall), you can install these washers on inside of transom. Freshairexhaust.com

On prop, I LOVE my #1433, absolute beast when surfing and still get 40mph on top end. My spare is 1847 which is same size and slightly different cup....also is a great prop.

I have quiet tip exhaust on my 233 and I really don't think it does much....had FAE on my last boat and loved it.....very quiet!   FAE will be my next mod for sure.

The fae is the quietest.. but for fact the silent tip makes it quieter than having nothing on there at all.

For sure the tip is better than nothing, but being over the trim plate, would think most times underway, except idle, put it out of water which is what muffles it. Still has to be better pointing down tho.

Larry at freshairexhaust.com is easy to work with and great customer service and cant think of anyone with better warranty...as long as you mount it right and send them pics, if you lose it he will replace it. Normally $480...then $40 for blended welds on outside (not mandrel bent)...and $40 for baffle (tho many of the Centurions are built in and wont be removed...and unless under warranty you dont really need it anyway. But many times in the winter or spring....forums will do a group buy. If you can get at least 5-10 people together to do a group buy, you can get discount of between $50-$70 off. Think last time if at least 7 buy, then 70 discount instead of 50...we had almost 20 people this Spring and is when I bought mine. Lot of the new boats are now coming with factory FAE option and they just about all deal with this guy Larry.

I have the silent tip Exhaust on both my 244's and did not on my 233. The silent tip makes a big difference. I would agree, not as silent as a FAE, but its completely fine for me and does not affect the wave.

I have also used the factory High Altitude prop with no issues.
