I recently added the Asymmetrical-Plate to my Supreme with great success. I was either going to add Fresh Air Exhaust or the A-Plate and the A-Plate was a less-expensive test so I started with that. There is probably a way to do both but I wanted to ask those with the Centurion "Quiet-Tip" exhaust what they thought of it. I am guessing it doesn't work as well as an FAE but at least I can run it with an A-Plate. I am also guessing I can add it to my Supreme but I may be wrong about that.

What are your thoughts on the Quiet-Tip?

Does it extend inside the boat or is it just mounted on the transom?

Is it quieter?

I would like to get fresh air exhaust, but want all the issues with spray worked out before I do it. The tip is just mounted to the transom, and as far as quieting it down I believe it helps somewhat. I have only been on the new boats that have the quiet tip exhaust so can't really tell you how much it helps quiet down the noise.

X2^^^ I had an FAE on my Falcon V and loved it. My 233 is soooooo much louder even with the silencer. I have read threads here with spray issues when installing an FAE and using mud flaps to knock down the spray......I'm just not ready to go there. I believe most of these were with Enzo's.

The "QT" does help a little with exhaust noise. But the "FAE" is so much better. I am still having a little bit of spray issue with my FAE on my 13 Enzo, but the narrower downtube Larry did has helped quite a bit. I don't feel like i "HAVE" to use a Mud/Spray flap now although I will probably keep it in the boat and use occasionally. I made my flap so I can remove it quickly.

How much narrower? Restricting the exhaust a lot?

I love having an FAE but the single exhaust outlet boat does have it's challenges. Mine broke twice and I was very lucky it didn't find the bottom of the lake. From my experience with FAE's on two previous boats I think the down tube should be more hydrodynamic (narrower) and have more angle from the boat.

Just a little narrower. No restriction to the exhaust according to Larry. I agree with Dreamer that a little bit more angle away from the hull would possibly help with the spray also but assuming Larry considered this.

Too funny...I just a few minutes ago asked Travis at Hillside if there was any more progress on this. I'll let you know what he finds out.

I wonder if Larry takes into account the angle of our boats while surfing?

I wonder why axis gets the factory surf pipe (ala Nautique) via PCM this year but not centurion? What's up with that?

Possibly because Centurion invested money into the quiet tip exhaust. Just a guess. Not even sure if it's their property. But I haven't seen them on any other boats. But a factory option would be pretty sweet!

Larry mentioned to me that he had been in discussions with FineLine but they had not come to an agreement yet. He hoped it would be soon but often times these things take time to work out the details.

First off - I do not want a FAE period.

Quiet Tip - those that have them what would you guess how much it lowers the exhaust noise. 10%....20%....30% ??? ETC

I was riding a Wakesetter late this year and noise wise..... the difference behind the boat and in the boat was HUGE. It was enough that either mod my AVY.....or sell it. My neighbours 2013 ENZO is silent compared to my 2011 AVY.

I would like exhaust tips to drop it about 40% minimum, but I cannot find out enough online.

No scientific results here, but my 2013 233 Enzo with a 409 and quiet tip exhaust is much much louder than my 08 Falcon V with a Black Scorpion and FAE.

Go with the malibu silent rider exhaust tips then .you Will get at least a 40% noise reduction .had them on my last boat and was more than happy with them .also they cost less than a FAE.

The malibu tips are 3.5" and IIRC PCM uses a single 4" exhaust. Is there a silent rider 4" tip out there?

I would say that the "QT" from Centurion reduces engine noise about 20-25% from when I palced one on my Enzo I could tell a difference but not a large difference. When I replaced the "QT" with and "FAE" I would say it reduced engine noise in the area of 80%+. There was absoluty NO comparison between the "QT" and the "FAE" in terms of noise reduction.

My buddy has a "QT" on his 2014 and I have an "FAE" on my 2013 and everyone commented on how much quieter my bpoat was compared to his when we were riding.

I have the Regular size platform. I have a little bit of spray but not nearly as much as I had with the 1st FAE I had on the boat. The replacement one Larry did seems to have cleaned up alot of the spray issues I was having. I still have a spray flap but I do not have it on and I do not feel like I have to have it on now.
