Hey I was gonna say, I bought the protec one that also had the earflaps to protect the ears so you don't rupture your ear drum. That could justify it for many

 

I hear ya BC, it may be Bs regarding all that but it kinda made sense to me. I can see the reason for smacking the board on the back of the head, my buddy took some staples cause of a cut to the skull with his board. Realistically it all comes down to what poison ya prefer LOL

 

The ear drum is the worst. I ruptured my ear drum when I was 16 diving, and once again last season wake boarding when I smacked my face on the water. It sucks and is probably my worst injury to date. I've broken almost 20 bones to.

Mx, is a tough sport. It's worth it though.I guess maybe not 20 different ones. Some times the same bones get broken again.

Well i need to learn how to read. She is on a wakeskate,but I have some good ones of her on her wakeboard trying a back flip. I will post when I get back home.

My wife and I have mandated helmets for any rider behind our boat. We've only had 1ER vist in the 6 years of wakeboarding. Helmets have saved me many a day ending fall and protected the back of the boat from my head during a really bad surfing fall ... Yes. I have been accused of being really hard headed!!

Ear drum is the worst. Sideways wakeboard crashes and slalom course. I quit the slalom course, and I can't remember the last time I tried anything halfway fun on the wakeboard.
