interesting if true but it also does not indicate what is included

For instance does it include freight, trailer, any options or just the base boat with standard options

I will be willing to bet this info is fairly accurate. I would also be willing to bet that boat dealers are happy this info is out there. This way they can show buyers that they are not marking these boats up 40% and that it is the manufacturer that has raised the cost of boats.

Getting an error.

The given key has gone over the requests limit in the 24 hour period or has submitted too many requests in too short a period of time.

Looks like it may be down

Interesting to see Moomba is marking up their boats about $9k on their upper mid-line boat (LSV Moby), and Centurion is over $20k (Avy). Being I shopped these boats, I'd say the site is pretty accurate. I was hoping to see MC for a big laugh but none.

MSRP is just a number. No one ever pays MSRP for a boat. But the good thing is that places like NADA and BUC use MSRP to start there calculations on resell pricing. So I would suspect that Centurion's dealers have asked them to set the MSRP at a certain percentage above cost. This is good for us owners of boats as it helps us when we want to trade or sell our boats.

One thing I noticed looking at different boats from many different types of Fiberglass manufacturers between 2010 and 2011 models that the percentage of increase seems to be very close. Seems that they must all be reflecting the higher cost of goods. Just imagine what is going to happen next year since the price of a barrel of oil has jumped up so much and most of what is used to build a boat is made out of Petroleum. I bet we are looking at another 10% increase in boat prices next year.

Wow, this is awesome. I wish I had this when I was at the boat show last month. Then I could tell them there :db: special price was a joke!!

Finally got into it. Now I see where the local dealer came up with the $103K cost at the boat show, but they only took $8k off the price, and there was 35k profit in he boay

35K profit seems like a lot to me....but what do I know about running a dealership?

I don't think I would want to get into this business. It doesn't really look like there is money to be made. I think you would have to be pretty creative to turn a profit after all of your expenses. I think you would be more profitable investing in a bikini boat wash service at the ramp.
