  1. Viking's S226

    really nice lookn boat. congrats
  2. How early to start kids

Like others have said... Totally depends on the kid and the kids comfort level in/on the water... my son is six and very comfortable on/in the water and he still goes in spurts where he wants nothing to do with it. This is the ski he road when he was around two. http://www.the-house.com/wsobpltfk4614zz-obrien-combo-waterskis.html?gclid=CNKb-JWyrcMCFQaDfgodRY4AAw I found it on Craigslist for about $75... I'd recommend this and starting the kids from the beach (a lot less intimidating)... you can basically idle and the kids can ride forever. I even pulled him and his cousins by hand in our pool a few times to get them a little more comfortable. When he was about 4 1/2 he asked for a wakeboard. he said he was ready to try it, so we got him an LF nemisis board/bindings that he has ridden for the last couple summers. It took him a few times out before he could get up and ride around. He now rides about 18 mph, he can edge really well and has a few surface tricks. For any small kid on a wakeboard I'd highly recommend working on flipping the board over in the water before you try and pull them up behind the boat. If they fall on their face and can't flip the board over, they will freak out and never want to try it again.
  3. So, I just went through this with a new boat. I measured the boat with the tower collapsed and based on those measurements it would fit. What I didn't take into consideration was the brackets for the bimini that stick up about another inch! Not sure if its the same with these boats but just something to think about if you have a 7ft door. I use a drop hitch to get the boat in the garage.
  4. October pic thread

I'm always lurking around this site... lol. Yeah we are very close, we should def make it a point to meet up. Ill probably bring my boat back from havasu in november, so Ill be out on elsinore more often.
  5. October pic thread

So jealous... this time of year there is perfect. this month has been so busy I've only been out once.
  6. checked out an mxz, a24, vlx (haven't driven a 15 VLX). mxz would be my second choice but I don't want to pay that much more. Sounds silly but I bass fish off the bow of my boat, so the pickle fork is perfect. They have updated the a22's but not the a24's, so the interior is nicer on the 24's. If the centurion dealer was still around I would have liked to test drive a couple the new boats. I loved my centurion!
  7. Elc, what ya looking to get? CH, I found one of the threads on the A plate, Darksider has a thread as well on his A Plate that he was happy with as well http://www.centurioncrew.com/index.php/topic/8263-which-trim-tab-actuator/?hl=actuator Probably another A22. Its been a great boat... the 15's have quite a few improvements and also has the same hull as the t22. there has been some consolidation of dealers locally.so the centurion dealer is no longer here and there is a new bu/axis dealer (within the last couple months) in that building. Seems like they will be a good dealer, hopefully it works out.
  8. agreed about price. I sold/bought a boat in early 2010 and there was ton of inventory, so prices were way down. I am looking to sell and buy another right now and the market is completely different. 27k seems like a great price.
  9. my current boat is a 2010 and has around 500 hours. I maintain it regularly and drive it all the time... so it runs awesome. My buddy has an older moomba with 1300 hours on it and it runs great. My point is, I'd much rather buy a boat thats actually been used than a boat thats just been sitting around.
  10. Upgrade ideas?

agree with mike... a pair of rev 10's sound awesome. like dura says... see if you can get a "bro" deal from a local dealer on speaker/amp package. I have had a bunch of different speaker combos. rev 10's are awesome.
  11. kicker km6500.2 speakers

My good buddy has them on his boat. We ride about 70 ft and you can hear them fine (I'm not sure what he is powering them with). If I were purchasing HLCD speakers and had existing cans that the kickers speakers fit in, I would consider purchasing. If I had to buy cans and the speakers I would explore other setups.
  12. Dodge vs. Chevy

I trailered long distances up grades... the external cooler did nothing. In GM's defense they ended up replacing all kinds of things under warranty - they were easy to work with. Agreed that towing locally the 5.3 is more than adequate. In fact Id tow with the smaller chevy v8 locally with no concern.
  13. Dodge vs. Chevy

We had the same exact experience as h20. Hopefully the new transmissions are better.
  14. Do I really need health insurance in 214?

if you want to purchase insurance through the exchanges (to qualify for a tax break) there is an enrollment period. if you don't care about the tax break you can purchase an individual plan any time.
  15. Dodge vs. Chevy

16 mpg towing anything with a 1/2 ton is pretty impressive. Do you tow down hill both ways?
