Custom soulcraft for the H20 Queen

If any of you have ever tried to find a surf style board for your wife you know their is not much out their.Well soulcraft to the rescue.I discussed design ideas with Jeff got input from crew admin and what we came up with I think is about the coolest looking shape I have ever seen.My wife is 5'2" and a 105 LBS so a board length of 4'4" was selected. My wife tends to ride front foot heavy so we picked a rocker of 2 3/4" and added a diamond nose which I think is a first for soulcraft to work with the rocker to help with pearling. To make sure the board would be super fast edge to edge the mid section was reduced to 19".To finish off the shape the new Fang Tail was added. As usual I have custom art and some other custom features planed which I will share as progress is made on the board.Jeff is truly a master shaper and has definitely outdone himself this time. Here are the first of the build pics with more to come.I'm sure my wife will love her new soulcraft as much as I love mine........................................H

Making progress here is the board taped off waiting for the color to be sprayed on the rails. The more I see the shape the more I love it and want one for myself.......................................................H

The fins have been installed next comes the layups and the carbon fiber reinforcement. I think this is one of the best looking boards I have seen and its giving me a bad case of board envy.............................................H

Here is a quick peek at what is to come.I decided to go with two carbon fiber strips that run the length of the board instead of just one. This pic shows the board with one inch strips but I'm waiting for the 3/4" strips to come in to make a decision which to go with.I think it looks sweet it reminds me of the Chevy SS stripes on the sixties muscle cars.......................................H

Here is the update I hope your ready because this thing is bad A$$.I decided to go with the one inch carbon fiber strips. The layups are done and the board is getting close to going out for art work.We chose the red and black soulcraft logo to go with the natural white and black edges.Jeff has made some awesome boards in the past but I think this shape is my favorite everything just flows.I cant wait to see my wifes face when she finds this board under the tree.If any of you are thinking of going custom the off season is the time to do it.Jeff is a great guy and is a blast to work with......................................H

No the rails are not carbon wrapped only the stringer reinforcement. When I have Jeff build us boards I have him add a little more material so the boards are more durable. It adds some to the weight but not much.I love the shape of this board and will have one made for myself in the spring just minus the art work.........................................H

Looks great H. You gonna go with red traction?

She's gonna be wanting to hit the lake early next year!

No I was thinking of going with white traction so it blends in and does not take away from the shape of the board.I am sure once the wife gets the board she will dye the fins red to match the soulcraft logo colors.........................H
