There's no replacement for displacement. Slam it!

Agreed! I sink it trust me. I just wish I could have a usable interior while surfing. I mean there is all that room under the seats for 3500lb of ballast and another 400 up front, which I never use. My boat looks like a waterbed porn flick. People tripping over sacs and falling down, rolling all over the place. It sucks really. I use all the room on the floor. Seats too for bags. I wish like hell I could evenly weight it and surf. Oh well I guess I will need to upgrade!!

I bet if you put 1500 lbs per side and use the suck gate, you will be able to surf, at least on the port side. It may not be the best wave you have ever ridden, but I bet you will be able to ride ropeless and will have a decent pocket. Skate ramp on my 2000 SAN greatly improved the surf wave on that boat, and that boat is not even a good surf boat. Wave cleaned up and pocket on my SAN really lengthened and gave me more push further back when I used it (although I did speed the boat up too). I think the suck gate is likely better.

I have the Mission one sitting unopened in a box and will likely try it out on my 233 tomorrow. I haven't even come close to dialing in what I have yet without it, but I ordered it before I bought the new boat, so I might as well try it out. Could be additive with QS-pro, might not be. Could have better results than QS-pro (without quick change ability). Might not. I doubt it will be better than fully slammed and listed, but who knows? Will know more tomorrow. If I can get close without having extra bags all over the cabin, then that is a win.

Chexi, I thought your boat was a 2015. Why would you add something like that to it?

I'm running just Ramfill plus one Wakemakers bag in whichever side locker that I'm surfing and have a pretty darn good wave.

I finished mine tonight. The plate is 12x12 and I have it on a slight angle not 90 degrees. Also trimmed one of the handles on the suction cups so it didn't hit the board and drilled a hole to put a zip tie through it so it's easy to pull off in the water. What do you guys think about the plate size and its shape being square? Should I cut it down, or round the top corners? I mad it so there's just a small gap between the boat and the bottom of the board. Maybe 1/32". And right now the 12" wide fits perfect in the cut out of the hull.

Dude that bad boy looks great. It looks huge to me but that don't mean anything please report back. I want to know. I ordered the exact same thing. Mine is going to be parallel with the plane of the cups, so it can go on the back and protrude like NSS.

No need to go that big 7x10 or 6x9. Is all you need.

I'm starting with 6x12 piece and it will protrude 2" below and to the side of the rear transome. Adjust from there

No need to go that big yes but is it being that big an issue? Haha. That was the size of the sheet I bought. I'm going out tomorrow to test it but just wanted to see if anyone knew of a fundamental reason why it shouldn't be that big and its shape so I don't end up wasting the time tomorrow trying it. If not I'll let you guys know how it was

Yeah! Huge amount of drag. I don't see any issue trying it but I'm thinking you'll want to cut it down at some point. That puppy is probably going to want to pull your boat in circles.

No need to go bigger. This has worked great on a couple boats now. Same size as the mission. If you go bigger you might want to put more angle on it. Give it a try but the idea it that it is small and affective.

Gravity 12 is that red plastic piece something you fabricated or did you buy that off the shelf somewhere. Thx in advance for a reply.

Red cutting board. I then cut and sanded to make my shapes. I Got it at cash and carry. Might have them at urm also. Not sure what to would have in your town. They are color coded for the different kinds of meats and food.

Maybe it's me. Maybe I built it up too high in my head but either way I was not impressed at all with the wake yesterday. I filled the port side 750 all the way and then the starboard 750 3/4 of the way and placed the gate as low and as far back on the boat as I could. The top of the plate was about an inch below the water line and went 12" down from there since its square. I also had about 350-375 of people in the bow. It produced an ok wake but took one hell of a lot of gas to get up to speed with all that drag. My wife was able to ride it ok but we then were able to replicate the same wake size and shape by listing it with only the port 750 and a 400 on the bench and the same bow weight with no drag at all. Pocket was about the same size and distance from the boat which is what I was trying to enhance. She said both wakes felt the same with no different amounts of push between them. I only surfed a little bit but still found myself right on top of the boat. My board literally going over the swim deck from time to time. I'm going to cut it down and shape it my like what others have done and see if it helps but right now I'm a little bummed about it. And of course........ I buy my wife a nice water proof camera last year as she said she wanted to get one to take more pics camping and out on the boat and what does she do.... Forgets it at home the one time I wanted her to bring it. So I don't have any pics to share but they wouldn't be anything special.

I've been worried about the non listed set up myself. I just got the suction device in the mail today. I've got my board. A piece from my old Avy. My experiment will be like NSS. I'm going to have to cut the handle and place the suctions almost touching each other. The chine or whatever it's called carries on around to the rear of the transom and the cups are too wide to work on the back. I'm going to rig this thing up with maybe 2"x10" below the transom and 2"x6"to the side.

I'm will post pics of the wave and the gizmo. I plan to put 1450 in the port and 1200 on starboard and see what happens. I'm worried the rounded edges may cause problems. If this works, I will fill those with stainless pieces cut to fit.

Jake how much total ballast are you running with your suck gate and what boat? Sorry I've got lost in all these posts

It's a 2000 elite. I have a 750 in each rear locker then an extra 400 fatsac I through on the bench seat. Then usually 4-5 adults so that's prolly another 700 to move around.
