Elite V custom ballast

Recommended Posts

h20king    794

My brothers shop http://www.gonyeasmarine.com/index.php Installed a custom ballast system in one of the crews rides. For the center ballast the factory jabsco pump was re used it received it's own thru hull and increased the size of the fill hose to the tank to one inch. The factory Mayfair and 3/4 hose was reused to empty.Fill time on the center tank is now less than two minutes also another 110 LBS of lead was added to the space between the ballast tank and fuel tank. For the rear sacks a couple Johnson pumps handle the job.All the pumps have their own thru hull and are mounted to a custom pump rack. One inch fills to both sacks and one inch vents fill time on a custom sack came in at 7 min. There are no manifolds one pump per sack the owner wanted to operate every thing without getting out of his seat but with 7min to fill or switch sides who would complain here are some pics the system looks like it came with the boat :thumbsup: ................H

Thank you to you and your brother. The system ran great today and the custom sacs make such a big difference.

Do you have pics of the wave? Post if you do.

Carter, think positive!! Lol

For an Elite V the wave was looking pretty sick and didn't have to have any bags on the seats.

I'm an equal opp boater, I'll hit the water regardless of the weather

I'm standing at my computer clapping, WELL DONE! WELL DONE!

Price, I think you have the best ballast system out there possible on an Elite V, Your king of the hill as far as I know

Don't be surprised if I copy some of your install LOL That install looks good! The idea of putting another 100 pounds of lead in is genius! As well as that bbracket made for the pumps!

H, how did perfect pass do? Any issues with the new holes ? I'm tackling mine on Monday and I can't wait.

Dura no problems with the perfect pass speed was around 11.5 MPH and held steady with no surging the thru hulls are not even close when seen from the bottom of the boat................H

T thanks once again for letting me be part of this project I had a lot of fun helping pic gear spending your money... LOL... and designing your ballast system.I usually don't get involved in my brothers work but I took a personal interest in your boat since you are one of the crew.I hope you are truly happy with all your new bells and whistles and the way everything turned out I realize it was not cheep but I did everything I could for you to keep the costs down and hope you feel like you got a great deal. Now pray for a break in the weather and lets get our surf on....................H :surfing2::surfing2::surfing2:

H, I could tell you were having fun spending my $$$

Lol

Everything turned out just the way I was hoping it would. The system rocks and has a killer wave to go with it.

Duramat, the pump system is great, cut my fill/drain time in over half.

The upgrades were definitely worth the expense and much cheaper than getting a new boat. I was close to pulling the trigger a couple times the last few months on a few diff enzo's but glad I stayed with this. Too many good memories and lots more new ones to be made with this boat.
