Ri217 owners

I have a few questions for the 217 owners of the crew. The capacity is listed as 14 but what is the realistic number and size wise how roomy is it for an almost 22’ boat?  Say in comparison to a 23lsv, fs33, avy, etc? We’ll be coming from a 19’ dd so I’m sure just with the layout it’ll be much larger than that. We’re a family of 4(myself, mrs, 17 and 13 yo boys. The vast majority of the time it’ll be us 4 and here and there a few friends, up to 5 or 6, so we’re wanting to figure out if this is an option for us. Also, are there changes for certain year models that make them better than others?

That’s the plan but just have to get home and then find one within driving distance. Been in Kenai, AK for the past 3 weeks but I get to go home on the 9th. That first weekend we’re heading east out of Oklahoma on i44 and headed to St. Louis for the weekend with the camper. The Mrs wants to take the kids to 6 flags and get some use out of those season passes

The ri217 holds 8 very comfortably surfing for the day.  The kids hang out on the transom seats most of the day in our boat.  Transom seats are extremely important and are acceptable in the ri series.  Best wave in the business, but make sure service is top notch or you will be bitter like me as the boat sits in a yard for weeks before the service department can touch it. Another lost summer due to poor service by freedom Powersports in dallasin Dallas.

Hey crew, I also have a question for fellow 217 owners: anyone interested in a custom built fab-dock for a 217?  They are pricey (@ 13.5k) but a really convenient option for those who want to keep her dry while floating but do not have the capacity for a traditional boat lift set up. I have one pre-ordered to float behind our houseboat and should be available for install in about 2-3 weeks (but won't be able to install it until next Spring). Thought maybe some other 217 owner may have a more immediate use and I would reorder next Spring. DM me if interested and I can send you some photos and the price sheet.
