So after doing the full pre season cleaning, polishing, waxing and mechanical shakedown the last thing I did was check the tranny fluid, when i removed the dip stick it came out without the metal washer under the rubber plug. After 2 extremely frustrating hours trying to get it out with a magnet and a piece of wire to get it near the hole nothing worked so I left the magnet sitting down in the hole and called a local v-drive guy who told me I could run it this way because of the sump style oil pick up,which made me feel alittle more relaxed since we were going to the lake for the weekend two days later. Well after leaving the magnet in the tranny for about 1hr I pulled it out and there was the washer stuck to the end.

I was really suprised to see that it was even possible for the washer to be unthreaded far enough to come off of the dip stick. After reinstalling the washer I buggered up the last thread or two so it could never come off again.

So be carefull loosening the tranny dip stick.
