Cut Down Teak Swim Deck

I have seen the cut down swim deck mentioned a few times on the forums, but have not been able to find any clear pictures or drawings. Can anyone speak to whether the mod really helps or not? Thanks.

Duffy, said to trim 3" off each side front to back (measure from the edge of the bracket that screws to the teak - thats the max you can go - remove the bracket, cut it the same from front to back, route the edges and there you have it). It makes a difference in that it no longer drags in the water, but It does NOT change the dynamics of the wave at all, it does cosmedically. I have both, when I go big with the Utah Surf Mafia, I put on the teak deck. When I go with the family I use the fiberglass (bigger and not as slippery)
