WSIA FORMS WATER SPORTS ALERT NETWORK

ENDORSED BY THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF STATE BOATING LAW ADMINISTRATORS

ORLANDO, FL (DECEMBER 22, 2010) - The Water Sports Industry Association (WSIA) is pleased to announce the formation of the Water Sports Alert Network (WSAN), a groundbreaking educational video series designed to assist law enforcement officers.

The WSAN will consist of quarterly videos produced by WSIA and its partner, the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA). Geared toward the nation’s boating law enforcement officers, these videos will serve as a tutorial on the various towed water sports that are being performed on America’s waterways. Through the new network, boating officers will be able to view short videos that explain the safe operation of lawful towed water sports. The first video series features Capt. Richard Moore of the Florida Fish & Wildlife Commission as the on-camera host. Each instructional video will cover a variety of water sports disciplines. The free videos are endorsed and distributed by NASBLA as well as the WSIA. Look for these regular installments on http://www.NASBLA.org as well as http://www.WSIA.net.

NASBLA Executive Director John Johnson said, "We jumped at the opportunity to partner with the WSIA. We are all about outreach programs than can help educate our officers in the field. We all live in a time when we are asked to do more with less - the WSAN will help all patrol officers to better understand the activity they are observing and whether a stop is necessary. This is a win/win for everyone."

The WSAN will debut with its first installment of the video series due to be released in early spring.

The Water Sports Industry Association (WSIA) is the collective voice of the towed water sports industry. Founded in 1981, the WSIA has become the advocate of all water sports manufacturers and the activities they represent.
