i was thinking of using the caliber trailer slides found on overtons. has anyone used them before? i was thinking that after time it might scratch the boats hull.

I like the idea but, do not know anyone that has ever used them, my thought was that if they had some grit/sand/etc. on them that it would scratch the hull easier since it can not be pushed into the carpet.

they might also leave something on the boat if they sit too long.

kind of like when youre tied up next to someone and you go to pull away and notice scuffs from the buoy's sorta thing.

Even if it did scratch the hull you would never see it. When boat is on the trailer the bunks would hide the scratch. Any other time the boat is in the water.

 

I would think they would help alot if you like to power load.

i do power load the boat, but like what wakedoc was saying that it might create more damage in the long run then just replacing carpet bunks every 2 years or so. ill have to keep thinking about it and see what others thinks. :ball:
