'Lead'. Does it rust?

I ordered 500lbs of 'lead' - which I realize is actually steel.  Has anyone had a problem with it rusting?  I don't want to stain the carpet.

Depending on which company you ordered from, it will have a different construction. 

Either way, all of them will be sealed in a plastic thick liner and will not rust. (unless you puncture it)

you'll be good. I throw mine around all the time and nothing less than a knife straight through will break the cordura outer layer.
