Anybody have experience with commercial ice makers?

I'm thinking of having our privately owned marina with 110 members (boat slips) buy a commercial ice machine or two for convenience and money-saving purposes. I'm not sure how much ice production would be required to keep the coolers stocked with ice during the summer months.

 

1. Does anybody have an ice machine at their private marina, and if so, how does it work for you? Would you recommend it?

 

2. How many pounds of ice do you think 110 members would need each day?

 

I found a pretty anal and awesome commercial analysis of having an ice maker at a store, but I have no idea how that might translate into producing enough ice if it were "free" at our marina, and also how durable and expensive these machines are to run and maintain.

 

Thoughts? Any experience?
