File the front tank. The middle tank. The back quick fill. And some of the back plug and play. Pick you speed. And start dropping weight to from the back to clean it up. Then use the plate a bit to get a good lip. Works for me. Just takes sometime to mess with it

Alright first thing is first, I did use the forum search function, and didn't quite find what I was looking for. Sort of random. anyhow, just got an 08 sv230 came with 4 factory ballast tanks 2 port 2 stab side, I'm guessing for a total of 4-600 lbs per side of ballast stock, correct me if I'm wrong. Has manual trim tab, no switch blade, no wedge. So pretty much no factory surf helpers. i bought 2 400lb bags to go in the back lockers, and a 400lb center locker bag, and also a nauticurl shaper, i get a tall wave but it has hardly any push, and it does not lengthen out with all this stuff installed. Tried anywhere from 11.0-12.5 on the perfect pass and not much different result. Do I need more ballast or just put one bag in a different spot? Do I need to move the weight or the shaper? Just trying to get the basics down and not run in circles. thanks.

I've been waiting to see the video before posting again. 1. shorten your rope. you're not surfing near the sweet spot on that wave. You're nearly in the curl and that wave's curl is far too small to push you. 2. your wave is clean and long, but its not at all big. 3. your new board will float you better, but you need to improve that wave. 4. you don't need a suck gate, and if I were you, I'd stop throwing more money into and work with what you have now, as you have plenty. 5. more forward foot weight. Few questions for you 1. where is your lead placement now? did you move it to where I suggested in my post on page 1? Here is what I'm going to recommend. Stop listening to Infinity's setup suggestions. Every boat is different. The way he dials in his boat is COMPLETELY different and irrelevant to how you should setup a 238. (This isn't to be taken negatively, Infinity isn't wrong and is trying to help, but its just not the best way to optimize a 238) I'd 100% trust him on a 244. Please just try what I'm going to suggest below for goofy side. Please. bow = 0 center = 0 both QF = full port pnp= 50 starboard pnp = 100 stinger tab = 20 QS = start at 40 and increase UNTIL you start to see the wave get smaller. It'll be between 40-80 speed = 11.1 Put 200 of lead under EACH CUP HOLDER in the rear lockers. This is important. Put the remainder of your lead on the far aft corner of your bench seat - on the seat. Have all adults sit on starboard side

Is their any interference with the surf rope and the back of the sewlong? Any rubbing? It's definitely a steep price, I'd pull the trigger in a heartbeat at 2K, but 3500 is crazy for some tubing and fabric. I could fab my own for that amount or could learn to really love my stock bimini...

haha...same with my dealer other than no bow bag. It comes down to his weight(less weight needs less push) and riding skill level. I gave my dealer the keys and got a video of him surfing my boat stock when I was at work. He is here on the forums somewhere but it's busy season and he works his tush off at that marina. Anyway, I didn't get anything out of listing much and I prefer not to. you'll get it. You would think by now there would be a much easier way to dial the wave in without all the trouble but nope. It's a science that really pisses you off.

have your dealer give you the software along with how to reflash. I will get the software and the how to tomorrow. put it on a thumb drive and keep it in your boat.

You definitely want to check that impeller. Did you hurt engine....no, but its very possible that impeller got nicked up on the vanes while running without water... 30-45 seconds is all it takes. Better to be safe than sorry and its not hard to remove impeller and may cost $40 to replace yourself. Cheap insurance considering if it is messed up....it will create issues when you don't want them, either in middle of lake or middle of vacation. Also will cause overheating which is the worst thing that can happen to a marine engine.

Rhunt I say you throw a Enzo sac and 400-800#'s of lead in. Wish I had experience with one to tell you but I'm sure that would do the trick from what I have read about the 233 and 244's from the last 3 years. I can say from a experience on Nates boat, as you know though it throws a beast of a wave!
