2016 S238 - Super disappointed with it.........
Brandon161 posted a topic in Supreme Boats General Discussion
Hello, So I just purchased a 2016 S238. I will start with the good first......... The boat is really beautiful, the interior is great and it is just a solidly built build. Also, I don't know why people mean woman about the wakeboard wake, because it is definitely legit and big. My last boat was an Axis and this is every bit as good if not better. Here's my problem, I specifically went away from Axis because I wanted a great surfing boat. The wave on the boat is just plain awful. My Axis was a 2011 A22 with the bolt on surf gate and it smokes my new Supreme. The boat does have the upgraded rear plug and play bags as well as the piggy back bags that go under the rear side seats. It also has the plug and play front bag. My whole reason for wanting the S238 was so I could weight the boat evenly and not have to list it. The more I read on the forum, the more it appears I have to list the boat hard. Yesterday, I literally couldn't surf behind the boat for most of the day. I had to hold the rope the whole time because there was not push. At the end of the day I finally got a wave on the goofy foot side that allowed me to let go of the rope, but I have to ride pretty close to the swim platform the whole time and really had to work to stay in the pocket. My weight set up was...... Both Quick Fill tanks full, starboard right plug and play full, port side plug and play probably 80% and center under the floor bag full. I tried to have the quick surf tab down all the way that didn't help much. So finally did it to where it was about 3 to 5 clicks down and that made it so we could surf, but the wave was completely washed out right behind the board and rider. I see that a lot of people just add a sh*$ ton of weight have have bags all over the boat, I have no interest in doing that. Is that what it really takes to have a good wave? I wanted even weight, so we could work on transfers or is that just not even going to be possible? Also, my speedometer was way off, does anyone know if there is anything I can do to calibrate it or is that gonna be a dealer thing? The stereo has a nasty buzz / whine when the boat is running, does anyone else have that? Any advice would be greatly appreciated because at this point I have no interest in keeping the boat unless I can make it way better. Thank you, Brandon -
Another s238 surf set-up question

Do you guys still need help? -
If you look in your manual it should show three reason the warning would come on? When mine came on it had nothing to do with the oil change timer. It was low on oil. I have a 2016 238. The alarm should only come on for three reasons for mine. Coolant temp is too high or exhaust manifold water temp sensors or low oil pressue.

If you are close to Canada. Extreme Boat Sports has a smoking deal on a 2017 RI 217. Has only a few hours on it

I would never use acetone to touch any of boat. Use car or boat wax. Takes a little more effort. Normally take two or three coats. But it will take the goo off and then you have a nice cleaned and waxed area. -
Anyone use a video camera attached to their tower?
Brandon161 replied to MFaso's topic in Supreme Boats General Discussion
I am not knocking anyone. But it’s funny we worry about saving money on camera to put on our 70k and higher boats. But we will drop a grand on a surfboard. Etc. Once again, not knocking anyone cuz I am a cheap skate on certain things and way over spend on others. Lol -
Here’s my two cents. All the new 1500s or 150s can pull these big boats. They have the power. I personally have a diesel and it pulls my boat like it’s not even there. Doesn’t down shift and rev out on hills. I take my boat back and forth to Shasta every weekend, which is a little over 2 hours each way. I can go there and back and still have diesel for the rest of my week. My friend has a new 1500. Pulled my boat fine. But he went through almost a full tank of gas just getting to the lake. I have a 238 with 1000 pounds of lead in it. I don’t use my air bags or anything and my truck is bone stock. My thoughts are if you have a big boy boat. Get a big boy truck :-)

2016 RI 237 vs 2017 RI 237

Alright. That’s good to know. Thank you Sir :-) -
I don’t know how serious I really am about a new boat, but...... I currently have a 2016 Supreme S238, which I am very happy with. I have seen some decent deals on 2016 RI 237s and of course there are the closeout 2017s. Is there much a difference between the two years?

So overall interior and what not is the same? so is the wave pretty similar? -
Not to steal your thread..... what is the difference between a 2016 RI 237 and 2017 RI 237?

Gonna be sad to see it go...

How many hours on it? Is it on consignment or did you trade to Northwest? -
Well if you don't want a pontoon or I/O then go for the Supreme. It's a badass boat. It's my third boat and by far my favorite. Best build quality and best wave in its price point. IMO. I have zero regrets with it. To get started surfing it's good. Once you figure that out. Add lead, bigger ballast bags and you will unleash the big boy wave it's capable of.
-
I am not being a smartass. But if you don't really plan to surf or wakeboard..... why would you want a wake / surf boat? Why not just get a pontoon? More room and you can just cruise and lounge around. With that being said. I love my supreme. It's an awesome surf boat. And fair wake boat.

Probably about 10k off or so. I wouldn't expect much for "goodies" though.

Thinking of new boat - Supreme S238 vs MB B52
Brandon161 replied to guitarcrazy's topic in Supreme Boats General Discussion
XJ what year is your boat? I have no doubt you have tried everything. That just seems odd to me. I have a 16' like H2O and my wave is just stupid anymore. With a three person crew or 10. Choppy or smooth it's really on point. However, I added over 1000 pounds of lead and I do list it :-) -
It looks nice. I prefer the layout of my 238 over it though

Hey. So I am at the lake I am at my 25 hour service being due. The "maintenance Required" warning keeps going on and it's annoying AF! How do I make it go away. I know if I hit the info button it goes off. But then it come back on later. How do I reset it? Thanks, Brandon

Maintenance Required Warning
Brandon161 replied to Brandon161's topic in Supreme Boats General Discussion
It was the oil level. Embarrassed to admit but that was the case :-) running like a champ now. -
I am getting my 238 tinted in a couple days. I have always gotten 20%. I was kicking around 5%. Anyone have an opinion or pics of the darker Tint?
-
Thank you. That is the reply I was looking for :-)
-
Yeah that was kind of my thoughts. That maybe I wouldn't be able to see very well with 5% on the water.

2017 S211 Wakeboard Wake Wash
Brandon161 replied to LHLocal's topic in Supreme Boats General Discussion
File the front tank. The middle tank. The back quick fill. And some of the back plug and play. Pick you speed. And start dropping weight to from the back to clean it up. Then use the plate a bit to get a good lip. Works for me. Just takes sometime to mess with it
