  1. Hey everyone, I wanted to share some photos of the Westland cover I got for my 2005 Lightning C4. I would've loved to have spent a pretty penny in getting a sewlong cover or some really fancy cover, but my wallet preferred going with Westland more! Long story short, I scored a great deal on the Westland cover on iBoats.com and purchased the cover that fit my model with the X-Treme Tower and covered the swim platform. I elected to go with the Sharkskin Premium fabric since it had a 7 year warranty and was supposed to be really good. Installing the cover was about as straight forward as you can get, but I must say, that thing was TIGHT! I hope it stretches, because the back right corner where the cover meets the swim platform barely makes it over. No need for anti-pooling poles. I used the supplied buckles and cinch straps. The cover comes well built and has two vents just past the front windshield. I'm happy to answer any questions you might have. Overall thoughts - I'm very happy with the cover, considering the price I paid and what I got. I don't know how it'll hold up, how it'll handle highway speeds, or how it vents moisture. Only time will tell.

  3. Hey everyone. I'm looking to replace my existing snap cover with a new, full coverage cover. Trying to keep costs below $500. Any recommendations? Are there any great fitting covers that fit the bill? Needs to fit my '05 Lightning C4.
  4. Hi all, In Florida, our wet season has finally arrived, and I've noticed a considerable amount of water was gotten into my boat through the intake vents just forward of my windshield. Who has done a good job blocking these off when the boat's not in use? My boat cover is a two piece: one for the bow, and the other for the cockpit. This setup leaves my vents open to the elements. I spent a good amount of time drying out my cockpit due to this. Who has a good solution to cap these off, aside from a new boat cover?
  5. Hi all, I wanted to share my recent modification to my 2005 Lightning C4. I've had the boat for a few months now and love it. The other week, we were hanging out at the springs, and my wife was sitting on the swim platform with the original rubber pad. When the pad gets wet, it easily stains and leaves marks on anything that touches it. She got up and saw her entire leg covered in black marking. It was at that moment I knew we needed to replace the pad. I immediately called my dealer (Transition Watersports) and got the ball rolling. They're a GatorStep dealer. They worked with me to get the design squared away. I ordered on a Thursday and had the new pad arrive Monday! Removal/application process. 1. Removal - I park my boat outside (for the time being). I called GatorStep and asked what the best route was to remove the existing pad. They said get it hot, pick a corner and pull. I did just that. The pad had been in the sun all day, so I picked a corner and bam.. the entire pad was off in less than 1 minute. 2. Cleaning - I picked up a plastic scraper and a bottle of Goo Gone. I squirted the entire bottle on the pad, saturated all the remaining adhesive and let it sit for 10 minutes. I came back with my scraper and went to town. 3. Prep - After I removed all the old adhesive, I took isopropyl alcohol and wiped everything down three times to ensure the surface would be best for adhesion. 4. New pad - Super simple process: Line up the new pad with the platform, peel a corner, stick down, ensure you're aligned and finish up. Nice thing about GatorStep is that, if you mess up, it's 3M backing, so you have a few chances to pull back up and re-apply without losing any adhesion. I went with the Centurion logo'd Cascade design in sharkfin gray with the scraped surface. Took it out the next day and couldn't be happier! Now, I need a swim platform cover to keep it protected. In all, I couldn't be happier. Word of caution... once you do the swim platform, you'll want to do the entire cockpit and bow... #ByeByeWallet
  6. Hi all, I recently purchased a 2005 Lightning C4. It came with the center ballast. I'm looking at adding another pump & run a y-fitting to both rear bags. For those that models similar to my year/model Centurion, where are your reversible pumps located?
  7. Hi all, I've been a member on this forum for a little while, but haven't posted too much on the account of me not yet having a boat. I sold my last boat (Yamaha AR240) in hopes of getting into a more dedicated wake boat. I finally came across a boat that checked most, if not all the options for the price I wanted. I came across a really clean red/white 2005 Centurion Lightning C4 for sale at Transition Watersports & pulled the trigger. First off, Transition Watersports rocks. I don't know if any of you have dealt with them, but I cannot speak highly enough. They were fantastic in comparison to a few other dealers in the Central Florida area. Great people. The Lightning C4 is great. It comes with plenty of options (black scorpion engine, hydraulic trim plate, tower speakers, etc. & is in great shape for its age. I would've gone with the Avalanche, but a few lakes that I boat in are restricted to under 22', so the Lightning C4 fits the bill. I am a goofy surfer, so ensuring I get the best goofy wave possible is my next mission. I was very happy with the boat's wave when I purchased it, but I know there's always room for improvement. I managed to get a Ronix Wakeshaper and put it on. I know Centurions don't need wakeshapers, but I do like not listing the heck out of the boat to get a decent wave. I'm not a fan of the velcro, but will admit that it works really well. I'll have videos & photos up shortly. As far as add-ons / changes, I plan to re-do / clean up the tower speaker wires, add Gator Step, and add a pump for the rear ballast bags. Aside from that, if you all have any suggestions as far as the boat's concerned, feedback would be greatly appreciated. I know it's no fancy new Ri217, but we all start from somewhere..
