  1. Enzo bow bag

And we do fill both QF's in our SV244. I think the sac under the port seat is about 650#'s. With only a spotter and driver in the boat we need 400#'s of extra ballast to make a powerful wake. Do you have CATS?
  2. Enzo bow bag

Not sure what boat you're riding but in my previous SV230 and current SV244 we don't use bow ballast for the port wake. 400#'s under the port seat isn't enough ballast if you run a small crew. Get another 3-400#'s of ballast on that side.
  3. From my experience one of the best 13.5" wake props out there is a five blade. It makes up for the lack of diameter with the fifth blade.
  4. More ballast weight is a must for a great wake if you have a small crew. Goofy or regular
  5. Ballast boy seat is the corner seat on the surf side (right in front of locker). CATS at 50 is in the middle on my boat so at 100 for port surf and 0 for goofy.
  6. For my 2014 SV244 (usually just a driver and spotter in boat) we fill all starboard ballast, fill the QF on the port side, plus 200# lead in the back corner on the starboard side and another 200#'s under the ballast boy seat. CATS at 0 and the wakeplate in the 60-90% range. Speed around 11.3mph.

    Hi Dark, just trolling around......
  10. Ri237 prop options?

Why did you drop down a half inch in diameter? The 1235 might have been a better option than the 2571.
  11. Surf style 720

Skim schwim. Big fins look cooler. LOL Maybe I just need legs that are ten years younger
  12. Surf style 720

    I'll try it.
  13. On the fence

And one more thing that you might consider, more ballast equals more fuel consumption. A lightweight smaller boat/wake might consume 4 gallons per hour but a sac'd out 24 footer can consume up to double that.
  14. On the fence

I have an SV244 and everyone who rides it says it's the best wake they've ridden but it takes lots of ballast to get this wave. I used to own an SV230 and it was just as good with less weight. Both boats take over 2200#'s of ballast to make them great. From what I've read the 226 from a couple years ago put out a really good wake with under 2000#'s of ballast. So you have to ask yourself, are you wake crazy like the rest of us and don't mind listing your boat past the rub rail? If so then it's a personal choice but bigger is usually better. If listed to the max makes you nervous then maybe a 226 will do it for you.
  15. Questions, ballast SV230

Measure your locker area and get custom sacs made or review what is available in a stock preoduct and find something that will fit the best. You can stick with the stock pumps but with added water volume it will take longer to fill and empty the sacs.
  16. You can do it manually by rotating the red Allan key on the back side of the valve.
  17. The quick fill is a gravity fed system. You have to be still to fill it and driving over 10mph to empty. When filling you can put your hand over the vent/thruhull on the side to ensure its working.
  18. We have a 2014 SV244 and get the best results with both quick fills full plus the pro and plug"n"play full. For the port side the CATS is at 100 and for the starboard side wake it's at 0. The trim tab is at 0 on the port side and around 40-50% for the goofy wake. 11 mph is a good starting place. How deep is your lake? If it's shallow you may require bow ballast. We usually ride with a small crew (driver and spotter) and are pretty experienced so want a large wake. We have 400#'s of lead bags in the boat. Mostly spread on the port side as we ride regular. If you have a larger crew you can spread them out in the cabin. For the port side we go spotter's seat, then ballast boy seat, then seat behind driver, then we equally spread the passengers after that. As the crew gets larger you will have to increase the speed. I like 11.2 mph and a mellow wake but my crazy teenagers like 11.5mph and a hard lippy wake.
  19. Acme 1579 vs 1433?

The 13.5" diameter on my 07 SV230 only had 1/2" clearance to the hull.
  20. Acme 1579 vs 1433?

With an extra 1/2" diameter you'll gain a bit of hole shot but probably the same top end. The 1433 might cause some gel burn as it will be within 1/2" of your hull.
  21. Surf board

If the board is going to be used by all get something durable. We like the inland surfer line of boards for that reason. They have a fitting chart on their website. If you choose one of their single fin boards purchase two more and run all three fins for the beginners. It helps their stability.
  22. Ri237 prop options?

My bad. Maybe it was the 1 1/8's failing so they upgraded to 1 1/4"
  23. Ri237 prop options?

What size shaft do the new boats run? Nautiques had to upsize theirs to 2" as some we failing due to the larger diameter props.
  24. One of my ballast timers won't hold saved time so I enquired about a fix and they said it would be covered in an upgrade. Not sure what else is covered.
  25. My dealer sent me a UBS stick with an update but I don't have any issues with my 2014 SV244 so have not updated.
