That would be the end of boating if it happened to me... my boat would be charred and sitting at the bottom of the bay. "Hi yes, State Farm? Yeah my boat burned and is at the bottom of the bay. Yeah, the bay. I did it. Yeah, I did it, a snake fell out from under the dash, I had no choice"

Okay, last year we all talked about wax alternatives, those of you that tried other stuff, what were the results? Viskus, Van der Waal, Hot Stix, Hula Deck? I've been researching Van der Waal and so far I'm liking what I'm reading, but I'm worried that the alternatives are good for toe and heal movements, but they may not have the grip for upwards.

Thanks everyone! Reading the amazon reviews for the Hexa a couple of the people complain that it is more like sandpaper than wax. The most detailed writeup ended with the guy going with: http://www.surfcohawaii.com/Hawaiian-Hot-Grip-Traction-s/23.htm Which does seem a little more friendly to what we're all trying to do

Yup, the entire reason I bought the 7, no more lifeproof case. I left the thing in rice for two days, nothing. When I pulled the SIM card out, there was water in there even after two days in rice.

I keep a boat hook on board, you never know what you'll need it for. Docking, picking stuff out of the water, whacking a misbehaving kid that's in the bow while you're driving...

Your 2014 SV233 needs a water filter!

My 15 did not come with this so I added it myself. It's probably a dealer add-on and my dealer is on a super clean lake.- 15 replies

This will give you false security. Dropped my 7 in the water last month, it was in 6ft of water for literally 15 seconds, killed it dead.

Haha! Wouldn't put it past her. She's planning something that involves a bottle of champagne for tomorrow. Do they let surfers bring piñatas and heels to competitions? -

Fresh air exhaust
stoked replied to gravity12's topic in Centurion Boat Accessories, Electronics and Modifications
Yup! Noticed a HUGE difference! The exhaust was really really bad before putting it on, way better now. Also pulled our first wakeboarding since putting it on last year, no spray made it to the boarder. -
Fineline no longer sells directly to consumers
stoked replied to DrNate's topic in Centurion Boats General Discussion
They also stopped selling directly to consumers almost 2 years ago. I tried to get a part in '15 and they pushed me to a dealer. -
Awesome idea! As long as the break is in the same place every time. I can image the wave breaking early could cause some issues. But for a guy like myself who's 4 shoulder surgeries deep, this could bring my shortboard game back!!

FS33/409 not getting to speed
stoked posted a topic in Centurion Boat Maintenance, Performance, Troubleshooting
Played hooky yesterday with two friends and went surfing. We had a massive problem trying to get above 10mph and clean up the wave. I had my normal setup: Full PnPs Full surf side Ram 20% counter Ram 50lbs lead each side all the way back by the Ram drains 100lbs lead each side against the engine dividers 50lbs under each rear side seat 200lbs lead in surf corner. 2 x 215lbs human ballast (third person surfing). Filled to the very top with gas Sea level I had to move the surf side 200lbs of lead to the bow, dump 30% from the PnPs, dump the counter, and put the A-plate all the way down just to get up to 11.2, the swim platform was barely underwater! I did notice as the day went on we got better, I'm assuming as we were burning gas. But this was completely out of the ordinary, I've had more, heavier people on board with all of my lead and had no problem getting up to speed. This has happened once or twice before where the boat just says no. The last time is when we were trying the QS, it was so bad we couldn't drain the rams without completely draining the PnPs first. Has anyone else had this issue? I'm wondering if there's something with the air intake? Maybe a computer issue? I stopped and started, killed the engine, even let the boat sit for an hour when we stopped for lunch. Nothing. Every time this has happened, it hasn't happened again for months and it almost always happens with a very full tank of gas. But I always gas up once we get between 3/4 and a 1/2 because I don't trust the needle, so it's not out of the ordinary to have that much gas. Other items to note: No errors lights or codes, we weren't in RPM perfect pass mode, we weren't dragging any thing (although the best explanation would be we were dragging a crab pot), and bilge area was dry. I guess while I'm at it, can anyone suggest a good diagnostic tool? -
FS33/409 not getting to speed
stoked replied to stoked's topic in Centurion Boat Maintenance, Performance, Troubleshooting
Thanks my man! This may have been exactly my problem! We're headed out for a 5 day weekend on the lake this weekend, so if it happens again that'll be the first thing I check!! Since we had this problem on the goofy side, that would mean it's my port valve that may be hanging up. -
X2 This was their best reveal to date. No one falling on the surfboard in the promotional video, good explanation of the features, and on time!!

I miss using Tapatalk

I miss it as a supporting member (don't let my current badge fool you, I renewed). I liked the "unread" interface a lot. as a CC junkie, I like to read all of the unread posts, tapatalk's display of all unread posts was better from the mobile perspective. And notifications worked better, even though I check to be notified of responses to my topics, I never actually get notified. -
Hey Admin! My membership auto-renewed last week (got the paypal notice) but my badge says I'm only crew, any idea what's going on?

Johnson Ultra Ballast pumps
stoked replied to Ramzety's topic in Centurion Boat Accessories, Electronics and Modifications
Have you double checked all of your hose fittings to make sure they are 100% air tight? I had a similar problem on my Avy and it was not-so-air-tight connection. After that I would heat up the hose with my heat gun and tighten the clamp will the hose was still soft, when it hardened it was air tight. -

stoked replied to stoked's topic in Centurion Boat Maintenance, Performance, Troubleshooting
I'd love to think this was it, but we didn't run through any grass. I was able to adjust CATs and see some change to the wave, otherwise a good explanation could be a hung up CATs -

The separator? I change it every year. I have a surf prop. Forget which one but it's in the forums here. No cavitation, I think 1" hull clearance. I'm wondering if I have a bad air sensor that isn't going into error mode but every now and again giving bad data? Mind you this has only happened, that I can remember, three times in 2 years. -
