  1. Not sure about your GPS question. I don’t have one. PP is paddlewheel. Instructions say just mount upright. It can be under the dash. There’s a little shelf for the instrument cluster I was looking at
  2. I looked around a bunch in the helm. I think I like this spot the best. I don’t like it in front of throttle and it’s a bit awkward to reach it behind the throttle
  3. I will post more as I progress this week. Certainly if anyone has experience or thoughts would love to hear them. Especially regarding placement of the GPS unit, control placement at the helm, any issues with wiring, etc
  4. I was preparing to mount the actuators this weekend. Unfortunately there is a ridge the travels across the back of the transom right in the area for the actuator upper mounting bracket. After I spoke to Ryan, he indicated there is a spacer that I should use as a shim for the upper mounting bracket. I will be receiving that this week. Otherwise I could not find a placement for the actuator that gave the desired displacement of the tab and tucked up adequately underneath the swim platform.
  5. Sorry the pictures are a little out of order but you get the idea. The bottom of the hinge is essentially level with the bottom of the transom during the mount. The mounting screws go into the false bottom of the hull. Only the very inside screw is visible from inside the engine compartment.
  6. This was a much better fit. It’s still was not completely flush on either end but within the 1/4 inch tolerance. The hinge adequately flexes during installation so that a spacer is not needed between the hinge and the transom. Otherwise the step went according to the installation videos on the GSA website.
  7. Ryan recommended modifying the tab hinge pictured above. He stated only six holes were necessary. We could cut a hole off the side of the bracket closest to the middle of the boat. He recommended going straight down and eliminating a hole on the boat side and tab side of the hinge
  8. 2013 Enzo 230+ new to me in July. Cover with straps that ratchet and clip on the side. I broke one trying to unclip it in July and limped along for the rest of the season. The other side was found broken when I got it back from winterization. Anyone run into this and what was the fix? It still works but would like to fix it over the winter. Assuming undo the stitching on the strap and resew new pieces?
  9. please post picks as the install progresses and good luck!!
  10. Sweet!! Thanks for all the pics always super helpful
  11. CRAIGSLIST FINDS

https://albany.craigslist.org/bod/d/2003-centurion-avalanche/6448981125.html This is my boat. Had her for 8 seasons. Understand if you don't want the walkthrough but I'm happy to take you through the mods and let you know what you are getting. I would come down to 20K. Bags and starter boards included. Being brokered at my mechanic he's done all the service on her and helped me with Bennett hydraulic plate, ballast system and PP
  12. 06 Avalanche C4 storm

I like trailer aid which may work in place of jack http://www.trailer-aid.com/ Get the perfect pass. They don't call it the marriage saver for nothing. You will enjoy the new purchase infinitely more especially if you are surfing
  13. Late August sheared a bolt on the single exhaust FAE with cork gasket. Larry sent me the repaired tube and I saved it to remount over the winter. Going to use the 5200 fast cure. Searched the forum last night but just looking for a any pointers on mounting to maximize security. Please and thank you for any additional tips. I plan: plenty of 5200; nylon locking nuts inside the hull I think InfinitySurf recommended grade 8 stainless bolts. Any pros/cons or other thoughts? Any surface prep prior to mounting to hull? Thoughts on best cleanup for 5200? Brake cleaner vs. acetone? Happy Holidays everyone
  14. So I went to Home Depot to size the fastener I pulled out of the FAE. I got a 12/24X2" machine screw. Based on my previous picture, does that sound correct? I didn't see a Duracon on there site with those specs. Not sure what grade 8 fastener would work in that same hole. Sorry to be such a noob but any help greatly appreciated. I also have a call in to Larry to see if he recommends his curved washers and if he has any recommended fasteners. Will update what I find out
  15. Black Friday

    Go Surf Assist!
  16. U can see sheared screw head in 1 o’clock position of FAE flange
  17. Sorry Rhunt. Yes single exhaust
  18. Thanks guys. Sorry I assumed grade 8 was hardened stainless but I can see it’s a carbon steel alloy. I’m not very knowledgeable on fasteners. If it’s a hex cap, it must be threaded to the bolt head, no? How else could you mount it without through bolts? The nut inside the hull must be grade 8 also? I have slots in my mounting flange. Did u use Larry’s special washers, also? Inside and outside? Here’s a picture of the fasteners that were used on the prior install.
  19. Listen to Rhunt. More weight is needed. She will produce a great wave. We had port avy bag (1500#,) center hard tank filled, brick on the swim (150#,) 400# on port seat and 400# port bow when light crew Spend some time searching the forums, lots of really good info. You may also go suckgate, more evenly weighted and there are examples on posts. i always ran listed. I recall like1100# surf side, 8-900# non-surf side, center tank full and like 450# in bow
  20. Repaint Tower

often wondered the same thing. My avy had a white proflight tower and would get pretty marked up. I'd try cleaning with different products that required a lot of elbow grease and did a mediocre job. One winter I was polishing the windshield with orbital polisher, a griots windshield pad, and some acidic based compound. The stuff works greater getting dried water spots off the glass. At the end of the windshield job I turned the polisher onto the tower and the used pad got all the scuff marks off. Wiped it down with a wet cloth to get the solution off, and I never called my powder coat guy. Probably doesn't help but maybe others will chime in
  21. very happy and recommend highly
  22. 06 Avalanche C4 storm
