  1. Hey guys. So I have a 2000 eclipse DD. This is my first inboard and jumped into it without doing much research(smacks face). I was excited to get it for the kids now that they are at the age to really wanna board, tube, ski and now surf. Now already wishing I would have went with a vd. I keep jumping on google, trying to figure out what is the best way to get the perfect, as perfect as it can get, wave. Trying to figure out what is the best ballast set up for this boat. It is a DD with the ski locker. I cant seem to find any real info on this boat with a ballast set up. Anybody have any good ideas of how to set it up? I plan on doing all my work over winter and hoping to be set up right come next spring. I plan on fully plumbing it in and want it hidden. As I usually have anywhere from 5-10 ppl on board and plan on keeping the boat for another 2/3 years. Any my ideas or links to someone that has done a nice set up with this boat? Thanks!
  2. Yes. Your main power off your battery leads back to your starter and from the starter to your breaker. After the breaker is when it splices thru to the rest of the boat. At least on mine it does. I have a 2000 eclipse.
  3. Like it wanted to start. Sometimes when turning over it would fire and act really sluggish and die. Other times it would just turn over.
  4. 2000 eclipse with the scorpion 330. About 2 weeks ago, me and the wife went out on a day date since I was off work on a Tuesday. Boat started fine off the trailer. Started fine off the dock. After about an hour of riding, we beaches up and hung out on the swim platform for about 3 hours. Got ready to head home, pushed off the bank started up and she died. Swam her bank to the bank and it didn’t wanna start. Let her sit for about 10 minutes, while trying start start some and she wouldn’t fire. Then a magical thing happened and she fired right up and ran great. After getting home it sat at the pier for about 4 hours. Went to take the kids on a ride and same thing. Didn’t wanna start. I changed spark plugs and replaced the fuel water separator. Took the boat out a few time since then and today, ran fine Today same scenario. Went out for mother’s day, had the parents with me. Rode for about an hour, anchored out and swam for about 2 hours went to start and was doing the same thing not wanting to fire. It would fire every few cranks and die out. then magically she fired right up and ran out right until we got home ideas?!? Where can I start checking
  5. This just happened to me a few weeks ago. Would lose all power, would come back and after a few minutes would lose all power. Check your main breaker on the motor. Mine went bad. I unhooked the wires from the breaker, pinched them together and got all power back. 40 bucks for a used one from my local shop. Give that a shot.
  6. Thanks for the replies. Got myself a volt meter today and started at the battery. Made it back to the 50 amp breaker on the motor. Hot coming in, nothing coming out. I disconnected the breaker, cut my switch on and flipped my blower, bilge and acc on(radio). Pinched the 2 wires together and everything came on. I’m going tomorrow to get a new breaker. Gonna install, put in the water and give her a shot.
  7. Hey guys. New member. Just picked up my first 2000 Centurion eclipse with an scorpion 330hp motor this past Tuesday. Every afternoon after I got home from work I would take the family out and everything was good. Today we took off about 11. Everything was good and then all of a sudden I started losing all electrical. Would have no power to anything. It would kick off and right back on again. Decided to head to the house and 30 seconds after starting up, I lost all power and it never returned. Got a tow to the closest boat access and messed with it for about an hour. I have checked all my fuses(that I could find), breakers, battery connections, connections behind the switch, connections at the starter. Couldn’t figure it out so I towed it home. After getting home I rechecked my connections again. Tried to bypass the fuse at the starter to see if it was bad. Still nothing. I have had the battery on charge for about 6 hours now. Just walked out to the boat, clicked over the ignition and nothing. No power to the dash, starter, anything. What am I missing??? Oh also. I also cannot get my main reset breaker on the motor to reset. It’s like it’s froze open and won’t let me press it down. Thanks
