  1. Show off your goofy wave!

Hey Darkside, just curious: are you guys still surfing in Phoenix?
  2. Show off your goofy wave!

Sorry, the best i could do was change my profile pic with the goofy setup. It was a fun wave - hope I can duplicate it with my new ride
  3. Show off your goofy wave!

The angel of the camera doesn't show the height of the wave very well, but the pic gives you a good idea on lenght. I will attest it is, IMO, beefy and pushy. Set up: v226 with stock, 2000 lbs rear pnps full, 2 x 400 lbs sacs on the bow, 400 lbs lead mainly in the bow. Evenly weighted with GSA quicksurf wave. Switch time 5 seconds with 50% tab needed on the regular (port) side. Can i tour the supreme factory when they are building my ride? Sorry, won't let me attach my pic - saying its too big
  4. Although my budget (budget is code for wife) will likely limit me to a Supreme, I am buying a boat from them this Spring!!
  5. RI237 VS M235

Eeny meany miny moe - black and yellow is the way to go. Be forwarned tho: my last boat had a black hull and although it looks bad tush on and off the trailer, water spots contrast against a dark hull. My solution was lots of hot sauce and extra elbow grease to keep her shiny, so be prepared to wipe her down every time every where if you go with a dark hulled boat. Regardless of which color scheme you choose - beautiful boat!!! Enjoy the new wave
  6. Hey Boardco, welcome to the discussion! Can't wait for my new ride.
  7. Not sure you budget and honestly I am not knowledgeable enough to know the difference between an sv233 and fs33, but here is a listing for an fs33 that l know the dealer will take $93. http://www.mmwatersports.com/listings/2016-centurion-enzo-fs33/ Good luck with your search
  8. Does anyone quicksurf there fs33? I see most people surf the fs33 listed with slight counterweigth but was wondering if anyone out there quicksurfs them and how the waves shape up? For those who list, how long does it take you to switch the list? Thanks all for any info
  9. Fs33 quicksurf wave

Loveto, thanks man, really appreciate the info. Looks like a very nice wave. Warm weather can't get here soon enough! I see snow on your peaks - my lake is chilly too (fed by snowmelt and sits at @ 6000 feet). This brings to mind another question (i know, sorry to be a pain): whats your elevation and do you run an h5 (409)? Wondering if you have any power issues when weighted (my v226 with a 350 was under-powered for my weight at my elevation). Wondering if you have any similar issues. Thanks again
  10. Fs33 quicksurf wave

Loveto, thanks for the info. Just curious, how high is the nose of your fs33 when listed? Do the CATS and/or counterweight bring it down noticably or are you blind on the non-surf side? Brief context: my coach storngly perfers driving a boat she can see over the bow, hesitant to put her back in a listed boat (had a v226 ran listed for 2 seasons and then last year put a quicksurf system on her - wife strongly perferred the system even tho we both felt the listed wave was cleaner and pushier). Thanks again for taking a second to share your knowledge - scary proposition picking a wave
  11. Is there any difference in the size of PNP bow bags that will fit between the 226 and 238? Also, IYO, do see a big difference in waves between the two boats?
  12. v226

  13. Do you think that 1000#er will fit in the rears? I wouldn't upgrade your floors until the kids are older, my 2 cents
  14. I vote opt for the extra weight. Weight makes a better wave, pushier and easier to stay in the pocket. Your wife and kids will appreciate the extra push when trying to learn. Weight is most important factor to pushing a wave. You will want the weight, guaranteed. You asked, that's my advice. Good luck with your purchase
  15. I saw in another post a member mentioned something about the stinger plates kicking exhaust at the surfers, anybody have issues with the new stinger plates kicking exhaust at the surfers? Thanks all
  16. Anybody have any experience running the 6.0 at elevation with weight? My lake is about 6000' Trading up my 2012 V226 (with the 350) for a 2017 (not sure which model yet) due to power issues i was having with the 350 when weighted. Wondering if anyone has run the 409 at elevation, and if so would you recommend spending the extra $10k on the H6 or is the 409 enough? Thanks all
  17. I would rate the wave an 8.5, but the true benefit, IMO, is not a better wave but instant switch (I also enjoyed running a level boat over a listed boat). Listed or with a block you are going to see a very similar wave if weighted right (albeit less weight if listed). There is a difference but its like Pepsi and coke, yeah its there but you will happily drink either if you hot and thirsty for a surf). My advice, if its just you and your pops, and if your are not wanting to switch sides while you are riding, only when you switch turns, then the cheaper option is the way to go. If your goal is to ride switch on the fly or jump from side to side during a session, then splurge on the GSA and you will be happy. If you want a level boat with the option to switch sides when switching riders without the drain and fill, then the cheaper option is the way to go. Hope this info helps. Hit me with more questions if you have any.
  18. Oh yeah, running more weight you will burn more gas. You don't say where you run but i ran into power issues with my 350 getting to surf plane with the extra ballast at my elevation (6000'). I am upgrading because of that issue to a larger motor, but i do run at over a mile above sea level. Feel free to DM me if you have any specific questions about running the GSA.
  19. I put the GSA on my 2012 V226. I ran the system with about 4000 lbs ballast and it kicked a very nice wave. Pushy and tall. I always felt my listed waves looked better, but the GSA was a very nice wave. Got to the point where I only ran the GSA by the end primarily to switch sides on the fly. Weight on the bow is key. I had about 300lbs lead and 2 400 lb sacs on the side of the bow, 1100s in the rear mostly full (maybe 800) and all factory full. Pretty sure if you get a wedge / block or similar product you will want to run similar weight ("pooh-ton" is the scientific term i think). I have a buddy the got the ronix block / wedge. He had a 2011 Malibu that would only surf port. The wedge solved that and had a decent wave, not as pushy imo as my 226, but decent shape and lenght for a malibu (but you know their waves kinda suck right) but the GSA on the 226 was better. It took him about 1 minute, maybe 2 if the wedge got stuck, to stop, pul it, switch, and go. The GSA was on the fly, but did take 50% tab on the port side and maybe 20 seconds to clean on the port side when switching instantly. Honestly, i do not regret the $$$$ for my purposes of wanting to switch on the fly, that was nice, and work on both sides. The question you want to ask yourself is that option worth the dough to you. If switching on the fly is not that important to you, than get a wedge for days when you have a goofy dude on your boat like me, or for when you are wet and don't mind waiting 60 seconds after you fall to switch the block and try the other side. The GSA guys argue this with me, but even though i went away from it at the end, nothing touched the listed waves. Good luck with your decision!
  20. 6.0 at elevation?

Thank you for the information gentlemen. Its an intimidating process to pick a boat, but an amazing wave is worth the effort. Enjoy the waves next Spring . . .
  21. 6.0 at elevation?

Thank you kind sir - you confirmed my suspicions although now you have me worried if the 450 will be enough. Wife is always on me to add more weight, are the sacks full? Guess i better Break Out Another Thou (9 of them actually), or move to a lower lake. Kinda like being at the top of the shed tho. Appreciate the info.
  22. Steering wheel is starting to become noticeably harder to turn on my 2012 v226. I was going to try some grease before replacing the cable. Anyone have any other troubleshooting suggestions? thx
  23. Thank you sincerely for the advice - I will lube my cable next time out (sorry - couldn't help myself). Happy surfing
  24. Just wondering if anyone had opinions as to whether you prefer to list or quick surf your wave? I have the GSA on a 2012 v226 and can't seem to dial it in. Love to now if anyone has had success with that or a similar surf system with the v226s and if so how running them. Appreciate any feedback. Enjoy the surf season!!!
