@cripper, I had the exact same issue with my 217. I had it repaired and ate the expense because I float my boat and thought that might have caused it but my gel coat tech swore it was an issue with the factory molding. He also told me it just comesmetic but i had it fixed anyway because i wanted her to be pretty again. I considered having the bottom coated to prevent it from reoccuring after floating it this season but decided not to after the gel coat guy said i was an idiot (which i already knew but he help reaffirm). I was also considering a lift and second slip but after reading your post it appears Centurion had some issues with the molding process on the 217s. Be interested if anyone else comes forward. My guy sanded the small area down with his sander, 600 lb wet dry followed with 1200 lb wet dry paper, and then a premium ultra popish to match the color and smooth out the spot. Make a warranty claim for the repair costs and fineline shouldnt sweat you. If they do PM me, i know a lawyer that will throw any demand on his letter head ?

Anyone use a video camera attached to their tower?

No zoom on the contour. Love the rearview mirror idea infinity ?. -
Anyone use a video camera attached to their tower?

I use a contour camer mounted to my tower. Slightly cheaper than a gopro. Video quality seems comparable to the gopro but no viewing screen. Super light weight, same mounts and water proof. -

I put the reg #s there also. -
Test surf them if possible and choose the one that has, in your opinion, the best feeling wave. All other considerations aside, you will never regret spending some extra money on a better wave. However, knowing there is a better wave that you passed on will haunt you everytime you see that boat pass, that is if you are anything like me. If you cant tell a difference in the waves after surfing them, then buy the cheapest option and know you are a genius. Thats my 2 cents

I would guess that the FX wave will probably be a little "better" and easier to dial in, but the difference between the two waves is probably small compared to the difference in quality in boats, just my guess from what i read and seen on this site). The 2017 is basically a brand new boat where the 2014 is no longer being manufactured. Centurion moved away from the FX for alot of the reasons @RhuntIII identified. The two biggest knocks that i have seen the 238 is the need for added ballast and the windshield. Assuming you are smart enough not to get caught up in looks over functionality, the windshield should really be a non issue (most people who have the modified windshield seem to like the functionality). As far as ballast, every boat out there needs added ballast. Even the guys running the 257s are adding 1000 lbs in the rear lockers, and they start with 5500 lbs factory. I add 400 lbs lead to my 217 on top of the 4950 factory) and the waves are sick. @MFasocan correct me, but the difference i seen between my 217 and 226 is i still have space in my rears for gear where my rears in the 226 were bagged to the brim. I think that will be the case with the 238, but the boat itself and the wave will be amazing. Good luck with your decision!

Anybody see this before? https://youtu.be/q1Zfgqvam2c Started the drive and everything looked okay (took the attached pic in the storage lot and tabs were up). Got to my location and noticed the port tab was deployed. Engaged the quicksurf and no movement or retraction. Assume my casing is stripped? Hope it is covered by the warranty I guess.

Here is a link (couldnt load the video directly, tech challenged) to a quick video i shot this weekend on my buddy's 257. My angle does not accurately portray the size and lenght of the port side wave, but you can get the idea: https://youtu.be/q1Zfgqvam2c -

Looks like a tough life @Tleeah! We have a similar setup at Lake Navajo in nortwestern New Mexico. Houseboatin is the way to go if you aren't lucky enough to live on a lake. Congrats again on the new wave.

Pimpin rides @Keef. Congrats on both ends

Congratulations on the new boat!! Should kick a nice wave. I was born at Terrabonne General, grew up in Nola. Curious where y'all surf down there? Spillway maybe or Maurepas? We use to waterski the spillway in high school. Flat water but watch out for gators and moccasins. Geaux Tigers

Both Century Marine and Boardco directed me to my local dealer (Mattas Marine) when i was looking into preordering a new boat. Mattas gave up selling Supremes so Boardco was able to preorder that line but not centurions. i ended going with Boardco's ri217 demo from the year before. It did come w ith the full 5 year warranty. Not sure your budget but Boardco has a 2015 SV244 asking 75. Good luck with your decision.

So went thru a similar situation last winter as your question @InfinitySurf, i was told that if i pre-ordered a new boat then i could only do so thru my local dealer. Otherwise, any dealer can sell you a boat ( new or otherwise) once it hits their lot. Warranty will transfer even if you buy a the demo model the dealer used to land other suckers. Hope this info helps
