  1. Want to Buy

I have a PERFECT 2014 Avy that in considering selling due to an upcoming move
  2. It's the trailer. You shouldn't be having rotor issues if the trailer is stopping the boat like it should be. Your truck rotors should be stopping the truck, trailer and boat just long enough for the trailer brakes to take over on the load. I haul my 2014 avy up and down the Lake Tahoe grade (Nevada side) nearly every weekend and all the way out to CA and AZ with zero issues. 2nd season doing so...no rotor change necessary.
  3. Thanks fellas. I can live with 500...not a G ball. I'll let you know how it goes
  4. hey fellas, I have a 2014 avy in desperate need of tint. The hull, trailer and tower are black but the deck is white. I think tint would really bring it all together. I'm in the Los Angeles area and was quoted $1,000 from a mobile tint guy. For 1k I'll squint. Anyone else have their windows tinted or know a fair shop in the area? If you don't mind me asking...how much did you pay? thanks -M
  5. The saga continues: Took the advice above and taped the vent/buried the rub rail. Wife pulled me out of the hole perfect, pulled a few gashes off the lip, pulled into the pocket and things felt pushy! Threw the rope and Went to carve again but the board was super sqirrely. Went to pump for speed and the board washed out. While momma was swinging around to grab me I flipped my board over only to realize that I had lost a fin...in Lake Tahoe. Tried riding my wife's board...too heavy. FML Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I would LOVE to but 1,400 miles is a long haul and abandoning my boat/flying a family of 4 out sounds pricey. Guess I'll be the lone centurion ranger up here in Northern Nevada Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I wish some of you guys were closer. It'd probably help to see some of your boats sacked over. As it is right now I'm like "is this good?" Feels like being 14 with a girl again. I think I'm doing it right based on what I've seen in pictures and videos but years later I'll look back and think "man you really were lost weren't you" Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. My rub rail was about an inch out of the water. Sounds like I need some bigger crew members. Next trip is in 6 days and I'll have access to 1,000lbs of people. I'll cover the vent and bury that rub rail Thanks for the help Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. For Father's Day my wonderful family "took me" surfing at Lake Tahoe. I swore I wasn't Therston Howel enough for Tahoe, but it is SO beautiful I can deal with the yuppies to have world class views and essentially be alone. I'm a goofy footer and a decent sized one at that (6' 220) so also for Father's Day I picked up an Inland Surfer Red Rocket. I was so pumped to finally try out my A plate new board and 500lbs of lead. After frustrating everyone on the boat by moving weight around and dorking with the A plate I looked back to see a beautiful left. I threw on my wetsuit top and jumped in...no push. Sped up. Slowed down...No push. So here's what produce the best looking wave: -2014 Avalanche -Darkside ballast full + 120lbs of lead in the rear of the locker -Center ballast full -"regular" ballast empty + 120lbs of lead in the rear of the locker -200lbs of lead under the darkside corner seat. -A plate at 50% -hottest 118lb driver in America. -2 groms totaling 110lbs behind the driver. Looked great, doesn't hold up. So what do I do? Thanks in advance. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. So my sweet sweet wife bought me a Ronix Marsh-Mellow board because we named the boat Marsh-Mellow. Great learner board....for a non XXL sized human. I personally am an XXL sized human and SINK the thing bad. No loss though, my wife and 11 year old surf it well. So after our last trip to Tahoe I meander over to Inland Surfer and click my way through the survey only to find that I'm a red rocket model type of guy (guess mom was right). Being a cheap oscar the grouch, I punch in "wake" on Reno Craiglist and sort from cheapest first. Low and behold, I find an IS red rocket for sale 20 minutes from the door for $300. Fast forward a day and $250 later and the board is in my shop. I grew up ocean surfing and did all my own repairs so in less than a Saturday you would think this board might have one season in it. Pic of both boards together for size comparison. Hopefully this one floats me! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Rockballer, The goofy wave is a work in progress. The wave as shown is stock ballast with 350lbs in lead. I have an A plate ready to go, just waiting on mounting hardware Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Dark, I have an Avalanche Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  14. I get where your coming from Dandy, but I'm not dealing with that kind of dealer. I really wish I was. 34 days for an easy fix is absurd to me but in their mind, I'm a pain in the a$$ and they did nothing wrong. My boat will NEVER go back to Custom Boat & Marine. I'd rather buff it myself and buy my own Oreos...the birthday cake Oreos almost make me want to rethink the whole thing! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. true story! I don't want to trade over but I'd consider trading up. The outside of my boat is hammered from sitting outside by a freeway for over a month. Good thing it's a holiday weekend and the beers are cold Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
