Ideal Surf Ballast Setup 2010 Enzo SV240

Hey guys, I am a 2nd centurion surf boat builder. New to the board. But I have found it better to not use the enzo bag. I use the jumbo sack in the large locker port side. 1100 lbs. I then use 2-450lb sumo sacs under the seat port side. I then use 2-750 sumo sacs stbd side from the rear locker up under the seat. And I have 2-280 lbd sacs in the bow. Right at about 4000 total. But I rarely get more than about 1000lbs stbd side. But what I like about having the different sacks instead of 1 big sack is that if you have a heavy crew, you can dump weight out of the rear corner and keep weight forward. That way the wave does not get tall and short. Once I have a wave set, I just add and remove water from the 1100 bag in the corner, and leave the rest alone all day with people getting in and out of the boat. That is huge for maintaining a great wave no matter where anyone is on the boat. Plus it is alot cheaper during the purchase. The only down side is that you need a couple extra pumps. But I have done it both ways and this is by far a better option. I surf 4 to 5 times a week with all different numbers of people in the boat, and can make a great wave no matter what. Just my opinion after building 2 enzo surf boats. -
Ballast Build - 2008 Enzo SV 240 - It Begins

OK, just didn't quite understand. Like I said, I put the 1100 gph pumps in and it fills in less than 10 minutes, and the pumps cost the same as those valves. It was pretty simple. But good luck with it. Hope it works out for you. Looks like a cool idea. -

Guys, I don't understand something here? With the sprinkler head system, each tank has its own discharge pump to empty each tank, or bag. Why not just add a separate aerator pump to fill for each sack? Thats how I did mine and I love it. I have 7 sacks total including the 2 bow sacks. I used a 1100 gph piranha pumps. 1 for the 2 bow sacks, which already had 2 factory discharge pumps. And 5 1100 gph piranha pumps for the 5 sacks I have in the main boat. Only added 1 extra switch. Works fast. Heck the pumps are only $54.00. Not sure why the complication of this install? Tell me what I am missing here? BTW use the sprinkler head wiring to operate the relays for each pump. -

How do you like the down fire speakers? Compared to Wetsounds, Sound wise. I think it is a great idea, just wondering about the sound?
