  7. Last week when I came in from work WakeDoc was waiting on me with a long, some what wide and thin white box, hard to mistake what might be in it. When he handed it to me I was surprised it was for me since I had not indicated I wanted a new board. Well when I finished opening this is what I found. First the fit and finish of the board is great, I was not sure about the artwork on the bottom looking at the pictures until I saw it in person, a space scene would not have been my first choice but, with it, the red pin stripes and the carbon fiber wrapped rails, it all really works well together. I have been riding the 1st generation Kennan Pro model for the last two seasons, the nose of the new board seems to have a similar shape and rocker as the original. As always Inland boards come with a full set of traction, the kick pad at the back of the board is taller and has a steeper angle that the original. One concern I have with the traction is the arc bar, the original has a small one on the rear pad area which sometimes bothers the arch of my back foot, the new board has a arch bar that runs the entire length of the board, hopefully this will not be a problem. The tail is a different story the original board has a pin style tail and this board is kinda of a flat/squash tail, I am curious as to how different the ride will be between the two. The wider squash style tail allow for a new fin configuration, this starts with a center fine that can be placed in a similar location as the original model, it can also be moved back a hole allowing the back of the fin to be just short of the back edge of the board. This center fin location seems to be more inline with the "Keenan Pro Configuration" which includes adding the new side bite fins. The side bites are different than what I expected, the center fine (black one) is standard Inland symmetrical skim style fin, the side bites are asymmetrical, curved on one side and flat on the other, curious to see if I can notice a difference. The biggest difference between the original and new board is the weight and size, the new board is 1.25 inches longer and 1 inch wider, does not sound like much but, it has a lot more nose area than the original and is definitely a little heaver than the original. I do not believe the original board had dual stringers, the extra weight might have something to do with the dual t-stringer backbone which they say adds strength, stiffness, rigidity and maybe a little more weight. I am excited to get a chance to ride it and will be sure to update the thread once I have.
