  1. ok so buddy brought down his 2013 axis a22 to the river this weekend , I demoed a a24 a few years ago with surfgate and was not impressed at all so I wasn't expecting much, figured we would be mostly on my boat.. he happened to have a mission delta suckgate with him, well to my surprise his goofy wave was great, not to the level of my boat but it was a wave I believe most guys would be more than happy with. in fact it did much better weighted evenly than it did listed. so after seeing how amazing of a job it did on his boat I asked if we could give it a shot on my boat 2015 FS44/RAM/PnP/CATS, no quicksurf..so we filled the bow and PnP 100% and 60% both sides of the RAM, keep in mind we have only ever surfed listed and have the best wave on the river down here, all I can say is I was blown away buy how great of a job this little thing did, now im not claiming it matched my normal wave but id have to say it was pretty darn close, super long, great push, huge, and really clean on both sides of the boat, the only thing I really noticed was the top edge of the wake was not quite as clean and crisp but I believe we could have played with the position a little to clean it up. so if anybody has been considering one of these id say its a great product, I would have never believed it had I not tried it myself, I'm ordering me one this week for the simple fact it produces a amazing wake and its super fast to switch sides 20 seconds opposed to two minutes and wasting fuel, not to say I wont still list my boat, but when you have a full boat of people who surf both sides and will not notice subtle differences you wont have to reballast every time you switch riders....
  2. ok so I went and demoed the RI today and after all the hype I've hearing and reading, not to mention its the new tow boat in the competitions I figured id have a new boat in my garage right now...... as it turns out that is not the case, I did like some of the new features my wife hated others, but the wave just did not compare to my fs44, we tried listing it and that was worse than the quick surf, im goofy by the way...anyhow tried the factory pro surf setting and was not impressed tried the settings off [ MY ri237 has arrived! ] post, not much better the only thing we didn't try was running zero front ballast which im now hearing is the way to do it...now don't get me wrong im not stating it wasn't a good wave or that we got it completely dialed in to a T, but from what I seen and know about ballasting a boat I just don't believe even with no front ballast it would have compared to what im used to more less surpass it. and the part that really spooked me was we were testing in a reservoir [ still deep water ] and we surf on a river at home, when I take my fs44 to the reservoir the wave is stellar, and a bit less on the river so in my mind, if the RI cant do better on this water what's it going to do at home ? this is just my take from my personal experience, im not bashing the RI by no means its just that today the FS beat it hands down.... but to be fair I did tell the salesman id be more than happy to give it another try if he got it dialed better, but next time im bringing my boat too for him to see what im talking about. P.S. yes the RI did have the pro surf ballast package with all the PnP bags.... so let me know what your guys think on this....
  3. I had a 2014 sv233 a couple summers ago, its a great boat, I had ram fill so cant say much on the bags but I can tell you we carried 300lbs with us to move to the surf side to help the wave, 4 75lbs dumbbells they worked great...regular side rocked all my buddies loved it, as for the goofy it was way better than my AVY..but not as clean as the regular side. I'm sure you'll love it, the only reason I got rid of mine is because I'm goofy and I test rode a 2015 FS44 and had to have it. best goofy wave I've seen yet.
  4. I have to agree, the listed wave was weak. My old Avy did better, granted it was dialed.
  5. Maybe that's it for me too then, I like when I can shoot up the front of the and slide back the lip 8' or so and drop back in, couldn't do the that on the RI wave like I do the FS. Maybe surf systems just aren't for me, which will save me headaches from the wife, she hated it, at 5' tall her head barely poped out of the boat when she sat in it. Lol.
  6. Too funny you mention that, the salesman had to grab the boat 2!hours away at the owners lake cabin, I told him you better fill it up on your way if you plan to impress me, he did fill it up.
  7. I'm sure the RH prop was a option so not all boats will have it, in fact very few will. But I've been wrong before so don't quote me.
  8. I guess I added wrong, my steel weight is a total of 700lbs, two 100lbs tractor weight and two 75lbs Dumbbells per side. but that still totals a hair less than the factory PnP, so are you going out with PnP and lead?
  9. Anybody out there rode both and feel the same way? Or was my experience not the norm?
  10. My set up is pretty simple, run 275lbs steel weight in each locker on top of the ram tank, I took out the PnP bags to use my lockers. Goofy: surf full, counter 20%, front full. Regular: same set up on the ram only70% on front. And the wave rocks. As for the RI about the only thing we didn't try was zero front ballast. All the back was full as should be for quick surf, and we tryed all kind of adjustments on cats, surf tab, and center tab.
  11. From personal experience I think you will out grow it, I ended up buying a used FS with 20 hours, the boat they used at last year's world's championships saved a bunch if you get a demo it had new boat warranty. I'm 48 so right there with you 6000' is pretty high 409 May be under powered at that altitude shoot for a 450 or better like the FS and you still may need to change the prop.
  12. Ok considering I bought a 2014 sv233 last year and traded it for a 2015 fs44 this year I'd like to commit, first off the sv233 is a great boat but when weighted it sit's pretty low in the water and stock ram won't be enough for long so before you know it you'll have it slammed and it can get a little hairy at times so low in the water, second you'll be spending allot of $$$ and before you know it your gonna be jealous that all the regular riders have a nicer wave than you do, the dark side just doesn't compare to the other in a SV. If you could swing it get a FS, the dark side is on par or better than the regular side, stock ram wave smokes the stock SV wave, add the Pnp and it's pro level, you will also appreciate the extra freeboard. This is only my 3rd season surfing so if you don't start at the top I'm guessing you'll upgrade. I went from a AVY to a SV to the FS in 3 years all because I got tired of seeing everybody on a better wave the me.
  13. ok, so it seems centurion wont give out the true ballast weight on any boat with ramfill, ive seen what most people estimate or figure from what centurion says. so I just happen to have a truck scale and I figured I could answer this Question for a 2015 FS44, im sure im not the only one who would like to know. im guessing I can just take the boat out of trailer mode, so ill weigh it first then fill the RAM through the overflow on the side of the boat, then weigh it again to get the NET on the ballast, im going to do one side, id assume they are the same. should have a answer later today. post all your guesses to see who is closest.
  14. ok so I just upgraded from a sv233 to a fs44, was wondering what some of you may have come up with for the best goofy wave, do have PNP bags on top of ramfill in the lockers. [ fill levels, cats, trim ] thanks. same boat that was used in the 2014 worlds, waves look great, like to know how they weighted the boat. http://youtu.be/NWSjF4WXo68
  15. ok so aside from the 300lbs ive added in dumbbells, [150lbs in each back corner ], just picked up a additional 400lbs of weight. 4 100lbs john deere tractor weights, figured these would work great because they are only 1.25'' thick and will distribute the weight evenly on top of the tank, so was gonna add 2 to each side, to give 350lbs per side, that should be pretty close to filling both PNP wouldn't you think ? didn't want to moving things side to side. thoughts ???? taking then in the morning for sandblast and powder coat to avoid rust spots.
  16. my FS44 was considered a demo with 22 hours on it from being used at the 2014 worlds championship, got a full warranty, same as a new boat.
  17. LOL, guess I might of that 20 years ago
  18. So what's the first hardest? Waking up?
  19. My 8 year old took this
  20. Not the best, my 8 year old took it,
  21. Don't get me wrong, it's a amazing wave, just think they should give us the facts.
