  1. New FI23 or used RI237

Here’s a link to the prop if you want to give it a try (which I highly recommend if you’re at elevation). It’s the Acme 3145: https://www.wakemakers.com/acme-3145-propeller.html Again, only limiting factor with the 409 is the 1-1/8th shaft which just has fewer 16” props available compared to the 1-1/4 shafts, but the 16x13 is a champ!
  2. New FI23 or used RI237

Nope, 16x13, that’s how we’re running them here in Utah, it’s a fantastic setup!
  3. New FI23 or used RI237

Yup, no engine upgrade required. 16x13 is what we tested on the Fi23 out here in Utah, ran beautifully, surfed at barely 3200rpm on the 409! Only limiting factor on the 409 is the 1 1/8 shaft, when you step up to the 450 or H6 I believe it’s a 1 1/4 shaft which has a couple more prop options in 16” diameter like the 16x15 which was perfect on the H6 237 we tested.
  4. FS vs SV

FS33 and 44 definitely do not have the same cabin space, the 44 is noticeably longer inside. The FS33 is still a great all round boat, storage space, freeboard, ride, wave etc... you can’t go wrong, especially if you can find a 16’ with the upgraded motors.
  5. CATS on the Fi23?

Congrats & welcome! Coming from a 2015 FS33 I was all about CATS because of the dramatic effect it had on that boat. Things have changed with the new hulls, they are very well balanced and after demoing 2 Fi23’s and an ‘18 237, we confidentaly ordered ours without CATS. You've probably seen Boardco’s video on the Fi23’s crossover appeal: I got to demo that same boat about 30 minutes after they shot the video and was blown away with how clean the wakes and waves were without CATS. My opinion is that the new hulls just don’t need it anymore unless you’d really like that extra level of fine tuning. JMTC.
  6. New boat was delivered a week ago and we’re itching to go play. We live/boat local Utah lakes and typically visit Mead in late May, Powell in August and Mead again late October. Hoping someone can point us towards warmish water in April? I’m guessing AZ somewhere, any suggestions? We have tried Mead in early April but it was still way too cold. Thanks
  7. Fantastic, another great video, Cheers @BoardCo
  8. ?? Nice video comparison @Boardco, not suprising as the 2018 Ri’s and Fi’s we demoed were belarley pushing 3000rpm while surfing. Awesome Hull, awesome boats!
  9. X2, loved it on our Fs33, best upgrade we made.
  10. I have a complete aftermarket system I ran on my Fs33 I could sell you at a great price. It’s an interceptor style like nautique’s NSS that worked really well, only removed it to sell the boat in stock form. I have videos of the wave. PM me if you’re interested.

  12. My Fi23 build pics

    Fantastic, Congrats!
  13. Anyone had time behind an Fi23 yet? Waiting to do a demo next week but crawled around our dealers first one yestersday, thought I'd share some quick observations coming from an FS33. This was a barebones, stripped down Fi so difficult to base first impressions on a boat that's not equipped the way you'd want it, but here goes. Styling: the new design language is definately sharp/more angular and had less rounded/ flowing lines than the Fs but I really like it, it's aggressive and eye catching. Tower: This wasn't obvious to me in the promo video but the tower is set far back, really far back actually. Not sure if it's a weight distribution thing or just the look they were going for but it's very noticeable compared to previous models. The back of the tower is almost inline with the rear seat backs and I believe the guys at custom covers are working on redesigning the mounts to shift the Bimini forward as the current XL Bimini would be shading half of the rear deck. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't look bad, it's just different! Storage: definitely a big step up from the Fs and I like that you have access from the bow seat backs to those compartments. Those new "rambox" style storage compartments out back look like the perfect place to chuck the shoes as you're entering the boat, I think side hinges would have been better but love the addition all in all. Interior: Nice to see a little more freeboard compared to the Fs, not a lot but I'd say it sits in between the fs and ri in interior depth. Layout is good, new Vynl texture and quality is awesome, a big step up. The new Dash/helm is awesome, I actually prefer the long single screen to the Ri dual setup. They did change the material used for the plates the switches are mounted on, in the promo video they look like a grey molded plastic but the final versions they are a brushed aluminum looking metal finish. Paddle shifters are a nice upgrade too. The open walk through takes some getting used to but I don't think I'd miss the built on cooler. I will say the passenger side of the walk through looks a bit plain as it's just a gelcoat wall, could've used a little dress up, Vynl stitched panel or little storage compartment with charging port like the Fs, not a big deal though and I'm sure it helps get costs down. One last thing, the small passenger side seat cushion seems like it could easily be converted to a flip up stadium seat, wish it was an option but I imagine a lot of folks will try a diy conversion. All in all, I think the Fi nailed it! Would love to hear from those who've had a chance to surf it! Cheers
  14. Fi23 first impressions

Finally surfed the fi23 this morning and I'm sold! The boat had the 450 motor with a 16x13 prop, full ballast, 5 adults and ran 3200rpm at surf speed up at 5500ft elevation! It's incredibly efficient! I've also seen video of the same boat with the L96 also barely pushing 3200rpm under the same conditions, so I guess there's a lot to be said for the new gear drive ratio, prop size and opti-v hull combination on these boats. Fit and finish is what you'd expect from centurion, solid and well thought out. I personally prefer the styling of the fi to the ri probably because it's reminiscent of our old Fs33. The ri is no doubt the flagship but the fi offers a new style that works without feeling cheap. Like the depth, not as deep as the Ri but still no bow shots, love the single screen, like the set back tower placement, "rambox" storage is shallow but ideal for shoes & ropes etc. Wish the flip up seats were an option, but maybe they'll add it some time? Back to performance. Coming from a 2015 Fs33, this boat is amazing. The wave was super clean and well defined (no cats) and effortlessly transitioned from really tall to long workable ride but the star of the show wash the push! I'm only 165lbs, but here's my test, I dropped right to the back in the wash and stood tall, stopped pumping and just let the wave do its thing, it was effortless, seriously the push is great. So I'd say out of the box this boat performs amazingly well, I imagine a little tweaking would result in nothing short of an epic surf experience, needless to say I think we've found our next boat. Anyone else that's surfed it please share your thoughts. Big shout out to the @BoardCo crew for the demo, you guys are awesome. Cheers.
  15. Fi23 prop

That's correct, it was only optioned with the ram and transom ballast but for the test I know they put a fatsac in each locker and filled them manually to simulate a fully weighted Fi, so the numbers quoted earlier are pretty much what you could expect from a fully optioned fi23 at altitude.
  16. Fi23 prop

16x13 is what Boardco ran on their L96 Fi23 last week, at 5500ft and full ballast it was barely turning 3200rpm with a top speed of around 35mph... it's amazingly efficient! With that in mind I'm guessing you could go with a 16x15 since you're near sea level but definitely ask the Boardco crew, they know their stuff! They did a short video clip of the test I'm sure they'd be happy to share. @BoardCo
  17. Sold our FS33, doesn't feel right being boatless! Here's my last surf clip! <iframe src="https://onedrive.live.com/embed?cid=5E4AD91A5D4C388C&resid=5E4AD91A5D4C388C%2155808&authkey=AGQGIz6RvkxFRLM" width="320" height="180" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" allowfullscreen></iframe> https://1drv.ms/v/s!Aow4TF0a2Upeg7QAbJNpYvCsC2zWCw

  19. Was that a drone? Hard to see.
  20. Cancel that, rescue mission cancelled!
  21. Anyone at Powell? Need Help!

Change of plans, Any crew down at Powell able to give 2 adults and 4 teenagers a ride from escalante ish to Antelope point first thing in the morning? They plan on beaching the busted boat and arranging someone to tow it when they make it back to the marina, they just need a ride back at this point. Anyone willing to help out for $500? Let me know asap. Thanks
  22. Just emailed you. Good luck.
  23. Swell on a FS33

Gotta share my suckgate experience. Got a Nauticurl for Father's Day, honestly wasn't expecting too much, only hoping it would help in shallow water as we live next to a 8-9ft deep lake. We have a 2015 FS33 and really struggle to get a good wave in the shallow stuff, listed or quicksurf. Slapped on the Nauticurl and was immediately blown away! Again, to be fair we haven't compared it in deeper water where our listed wave is fantastic but if the shallow water performance is anything to go by then I think we'll be impressed. We've definitely seen taller and longer waves listed and in deeper water but I've honestly never surfed a wave with more push! It's off the hook! JMTC
