Sea deck faux teak on engine cover?
BillC4 posted a topic in Centurion Boat Accessories, Electronics and Modifications
On another thread I asked about new vinyl. An option over the engine lid is the sea deck material. http://www.seadek.com/c-57-faux-teak-material.aspx. I would leave the port and starboard lockers in vinyl. Has anyone done this to their back engine deck? I saw a nautique made like this and it really helped footing going on and off the boat. Plus the vinyl doesn't get torn up. The storage compartments would stay vinyl. What do you think? -

The Ultimate Crossover Boat
BillC4 replied to ssgviper's topic in Centurion Boats General Discussion
I am one of those people that moved to a crossover boat. I now own a Sport Nauitique 200 in order to have the ability to ski. It is a great ski boat, a good wakeboarding boat, and an ok surf boat. I'm enjoying the ability to do all three activities. I am still a huge centurion fan and recommend the brand and Overby's (my local dealer) to many people. I even had the guy that bought my boat text me a couple of weeks ago with, "did I tell you how much I love this boat?" If I was strictly going to wakeboard and surf, I would have upgraded to a newer/larger centurion. Unfortunately I was not, and I can't have a ski boat and surf boat. I'm looking at the after market platform clamp on wedges to assist surfing on the 200. Even though I now own a nautique, I like this forum and visit it frequently as the majority of users are very helpful and welcoming. They certainly helped me with all the normal questions. Please keep the atmosphere on this forum congenial. Don't slam each other. This is a great site and run very well. (Public service announcement) -
I have towed two boats to the boat ramp this year. Both times the owners offered to pay me. Both times and all future times I did not and will not accept. Whenever you are on the water, not only is it the right thing to do, buts it's the law. You must help out a boater in distress. On some of the smaller lakes that some of us frequent, fatal consequences may not result, but it's still the law in NC to render assistance. I've towed people in my fishing boat as well. One day I will need that karma.

I debated between the fhbb and a soulcraft board. I got a soulcraft Hanu and love it! I'm 230 and my son is 205.
-
Love my Soulcraft Hanu! Took awhile to get used to the board, but I absolutely love it now. It's not a beginner board. Jeff at soulcraft is awesome. I described what I wanted to do on the board, and he built the Hanu. The advice from crew member was spot on!

We started with a liquid force fish. 5' good for all sizes up to 200 lbs. we have a 5'4" fish for larger riders. That stays in the boat house now.

Wow. Prayers for that family.

Ignition trouble, all accessories work
BillC4 replied to SMLCenturion's topic in Centurion Boat Maintenance, Performance, Troubleshooting
Taking the battery in and out, you could have switched terminals. Pull back the black plastic protectors on the positive and negative leads, make sure all the red lines are together. On my boat, one of the positive lines was wrapped in black so it looked like it needed to go on the negative terminal. Careful. -
Bilge pump failed, tips on changing?
BillC4 posted a topic in Centurion Boat Maintenance, Performance, Troubleshooting
Realized my bilge quit working today. Fuse blown, replaced, pump wouldn't come on after. Had to pull fuse as the auto function kept trying to run the pump. No sound. On my fishing boat the pump is easy to change, this looks more difficult due to the cramped location. Any tips? -
That $#&@! blue drain plug
BillC4 posted a topic in Centurion Boat Maintenance, Performance, Troubleshooting
So when reinstalling the manifold blue plug on my 07 black scorpion 330 today, the handle broke off. I read older threads on people having the same problem. 2 questions: 1. What is the best way to remove the plug withou the handle? I don't believe it is very far in. 2. Are the plugs readily available, or do they need to be ordered? Thanks Bill -
I'm looking to upgrade, and I see a lot of comments about both. I'm leaning towards the Soulcraft as Jeff can make it with custom colors. What do you think? I'm 6',1" and 235.
-
Very good! Got a good chuckle. It's a 4'10".
-
Here is the proposed board by Jeff! I'm stoked!
-
Great points! I'm going with the soul craft so I can get custom colors! Thanks for the response.

I put one on my 07 cyclone. By far the best mod I did to the boat. No issues, any spray was knocked down by the platform. No more CO and quieter. Just. Do. It.

I'm enjoying your playlists! First time listener to soundcloud. The remixes are great. "tequila" & "sexual healing" awesome!

Perfect Pass: GPS vs. Paddlewheel?
BillC4 replied to DarksideR's topic in Centurion Boat Accessories, Electronics and Modifications
What is important to the skier/surfer/wakeboarder is the speed relative to the water speed. In my case, I live on a lake that can have pretty strong currents, therefore the paddle wheel is better. Otherwise I have to guess speed changes upstream to downstream. My preference was the paddle wheel. Recreational not competition riders. -
Perfect Pass: GPS vs. Paddlewheel?
BillC4 replied to DarksideR's topic in Centurion Boat Accessories, Electronics and Modifications
I had paddle wheel on my cyclone and the GPS on my new boat. My lake does have significant current due to power generation fairly frequently. The paddle wheel actually performed much better than the zero off. Much better. -

Center winsdhield
BillC4 replied to Broncojared's topic in Centurion Boat Maintenance, Performance, Troubleshooting
Oops, Ocean Dynamics was good to work with, they will send you directions on how to make your template. If you have pieces of broken glass, they can match it. Although expensive, they were prompt and the windshiel looks great -

Curved ones are a pain. I went thru the same thing and had to use Ocean Dynamics out of Miami Fl. That is who Taylor made uses for obsolete windshields.
