FS44 - 2015 - ballast capacity
Jacksonfarms replied to yamsaar's topic in Centurion Boats General Discussion
I didn't take it that way dark, I should have been more specific in my original post We run ours with both ram tanks full and the added 720 in the locker, does anybody else run both tanks full,or am I the only one, I never read anybody else saying that they do. We have tried running the starboard one at 50% some, but usually end up filling it full after a couple runs. -

Yes I agree totally, I was just stating what the 244 was for a reference. But I agree the fx has to hold more. -

2014 244 each ram tank holds 1250, rear locker holds 720. These are actual weights on my truck scales. -
Mines at the dealer right now for it, ran out of gas the other day around 5 hours after filling it up. On top of it my gas gauge is nowhere correct either, real handy.

Ramfill and rear locker weights
Jacksonfarms replied to Jacksonfarms's topic in Watersports & Related Gear
Thanks for posting that bongo, that bow weight seems really high in the chart, I never use mine but I wouldn't have thought it would have held half that, maybe it's bigger than I thought. -

So with those weights that would make ram and bag boats capable of the exact same then, is that correct? -

I def couldn't surf the wave that my boat makes the way I'm filing it with out cats, it makes a huge diff imo -
Ramfill and rear locker weights

I know what you guys are saying but if u pull the boat out of the water with 8 or 9 people in it, which a lot of people do, that would be more weight than I had in it filling a tank at a time, If it can beat down the interstate at 75 that hull can surely support 1250 lbs sitting still. My 16000 was empty weight. I would also like to know what a bag boat weighs, I've got a buddy that has a 12 244, is there much diff in it bag wise than current, how does quick fill vent. Could it be filled out of the water like mine was? -
Ramfill and rear locker weights

I hadn't ever seen any posting of weight on ram so that's why I did this today. I filled my boat with it sitting on the trailer through the vents on the side. I did the starboard tank first and had to rock it to get it full and air pockets out, on the port one I parked it with the truck on a hill so the vent was pretty high and that was a lot easier. As far as the bag goes, I was going to get a custom one made this winter, I called fly high and they recommended I get the 1100 by the dimensions I gave them for the locker. I don't think a 750 would fill the space right because of its dimensions. A 1100 was a lot cheaper than getting custom ones made, so I went that route knowing the bag wouldn't be full but it would fill the compartment. I have scales at home so the boat wasn't trailered with it full, I agree I would think that would be a bad idea. I aimed to post this in the general section, somehow I ended up here, so mods it u want to move it u can. -
additional ballast on ramfill sv233

I posted the weights in the general section, hope this helps. -
In another thread earlier in the week I stated I would try to get the boat on our scales and weigh it this weekend so that's what I did today, My boat is a 244 with ram and I have a 1100 fly high sack in the rear compartment port side. We run the boat with both ram tanks full along with the 1100 sack and cats fin turned to starboard and am very happy with my wave. Both ram tanks held 1250 lbs per side. I was able to get 720 lbs in the 1100 sack. So that would add up to 1970 lbs per side that the boat is capable of with out lead, I don't want to run lead since we trailer it all the time. Just FYI the truck trailer and boat full of fuel weighed right at 16000. 8500 for 2013 ford 350, guessing around 1500 for trailer so that leaves 6000 for boat and me. Hope this helps, I know there has been a lot of talk on guessed weights and a lot of negative feedback about ram and it's lack weight but to my knowledge that had had all been guessed weights so now you have some actual numbers.

Bow ballast bag keeps draining out
Jacksonfarms replied to Bob U's topic in Centurion Boats General Discussion
I was having the same problem, the only diff was I had rerouted the bow bag line to my port locker, and that bag kept going flat. I have installed a diverter valve that I shut off when the bag is full so it can't drain back through pump. -
2014 battery switch suggestions
Jacksonfarms replied to Jacksonfarms's topic in Centurion Boats General Discussion
I'm not sure true, the house battery works fine for the stereo, it just won't start the boat after an hour of floating, even with the radio just at listening level, not blaring. As far as off on and combine, mine has no markings stating which is which, I've just figured it out where to put it at different times. -
What setting does everybody run there bat switch on in these new boats, in my 07 it was pretty simple which batt you were on but this new one I'm not so sure. I looked in the manual but it doesn't talk about it any. I've ran it on what must be the house setting, but that battery will be dead enough after and hour of floating with the radio on it won't start, so I put it on the engine one to start it. But then is it charging both back up? If I leave it on this setting will it drain both down when floating? I don't want to end up dead on the water but it's a pain in the rear changing battery's everytime we float for awhile, change it to the house when I stop and then have to change it to engine to start it usually. I would think the house battery should last longer than an hour and still start the engine, sure would on the 07 I had, u could blare the radio all afternoon and it still start.

additional ballast on ramfill sv233
Jacksonfarms replied to dhensley's topic in Watersports & Related Gear
I've got an 1100 in my locker and it's mostly full with ram, I don't get it that some can't get a 400 in there hardly, I had a 400 in mine last fall and still had tons of room. If I get a chance I will put the boat on my scales this weekend and get a wieght on ram tanks and my 1100 bag, I know it's not completely full but I would be shocked if it doesn't have 700-800 in it.
