  2. FX-22 - New Centurion Model?

fresh off the Facebook page of centurion. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CENTURION BOATS INTRODUCES THE NEW FX-22 WITH THE HAMMERHEAD BOW AT THE CENTURION EXPERIENCE PARTY AT LAKE LAS VEGAS Merced, CA May 21, 2012 - Centurion rocked Las Vegas and the rest of the boating world when it launched the all new FX-22 with the Hammerhead Bow at The Centurion Experience Party last night at Lake Las Vegas. The new FX-22 has a sleek, aerodynamic design where form and function come together to create a confluence of artistic efficiency. As the newest addition to the Centurion line, the FX-22 comes in at 22 feet 3 inches and has a beam of 102 inches making it one of the widest 22 foot boats on the market. Also, new for 2013 is Centurion’s Touch Vision electronic dashboard with LED gauges and a cool, sporty look rich in technology. With more than 40 of its top dealers on hand for the launch party at Lake Las Vegas, the new boat took center stage as the music stopped and the bright lights illuminated the FX-22 for the first time. The room was packed and as the anticipation grew for more than hour, the boats sat covered. Then at 9 pm with Centurion’s pro athletes in the forefront, Rick Lee of Centurion took the stage and started the countdown; “Three, two,” and the thunderous sound of rocket engines rumbled through the room. The crowd roared in the smoke-filled room as the shimmering red-and-black FX-22 was raised on a hydraulic lift, glowing with futuristic blue LED lights and a stylish white interior. One attendee, with camera phone in hand, was overheard to say, “This is crazy good!” The countdown continued three, two, one and the lights flared illuminating the FX-22 for the first time! The party continued as the DJ played into the night while onlookers were invited to inspect the new boats firsthand and Centurion factory staff answered questions. Centurion’s President, Rick Lee said, “The FX-22 was developed applying methods used by world-class race car manufacturers, then applying them to the challenge of enhancing the Centurion experience so that all families and customers can extract maximum enjoyment. We’ve been working to develop a boat that was not like anything else on the market. We took a lot of inspiration from race car manufacturers and we think that this new boat with the Hammerhead Bow will revolutionize the watersports boat market but we need to be perfectly clear – It’s not another pickle fork boat!” Denoting the recent flood to the market, Rick Lee referred to the onslaught of “pickle fork” boats that have a distinctive “forked” look to their outline but he was insistent that the FX-22 with its exceptional styling was not another pickle fork boat. The FX-22 has the ability to adjust performance characteristics on three-axis. 1. Ride attitude, bow up or down. 2. Left or right lean with ballast adjustments or the use of after planes. 3. Rudder loading or crab from counter weight versus opposite after plane application. The new Centurion Touch Vision dash-pod has an advanced look and will give the driver everything needed to put the boat into the best performance for each rider with ten “saved” performance settings. Les Clark, VP of Manufacturing said, “We’re so excited about this new dashboard, it gives so much information in an intuitive and intelligent way. Our team has worked on this for a long time. Our dealers and pro team love it and it’s a huge improvement going forward.” Another exciting feature of the FX-22 is the new collapsible Aegis tower and hardtop bimini which collapses a full seven inches lower than the 2012 model. Centurion’s professional wakeboarding and wake surfing team consists of the most decorated athletes in the World. Centurion’s world class wakeboarding team consists of Ricky Gonzales, Noah Fleegel, and Gordon Harrison. The world renowned Centurion Pro Wake Surf Team which holds a combined 11 World Wake Surfing Championship titles includes Bri Chmel, Rebecca Ort, Keenan Fleegel and Drew Danielo. * * * * About Centurion: Centurion Boats is most recognized as the first boat company to produce a dedicated wakesurfing boat and with its new FX-22 model, Centurion remains at the top-of-the-class in this space. In addition to world class wakesurfing boats, Centurion has been a pioneer in wakeboarding and slalom ski boat technology. 3. FX-22 - New Centurion Model?

    i agree with you LakeSurfer......
  4. FX-22 - New Centurion Model?

I think they are adding the FX-22 to the Enzo line??? correct me if I'm wrong.
  5. FX-22 - New Centurion Model?

while i do agree that at first glance this boat is not overly attractive to the eyes, i am hopeful that it will look better in person. What i really want to find out is the technology that this boat boasts. As we all know Centurion can re-configure the top of the boat to "look good" so long as the technology of the boat is progressive for wake sports there is a great deal of potential here.
  6. FX-22 - New Centurion Model?

can you tell us about the 3 axis technology and some the features?
  7. I got my tractor weights from my ranch in NorCal. I would suggest you go to a big ranch and ask the owner if they have any tractor weights that they would be willing to sell. I am sure you could buy them for cheap. Most big ranches have a stock pile of them.
  8. I have the same boat and this is how I have it set up for wakeboarding, I left the stock tank alone and tapped into the intake with a 4 way and added a jabsco ballast pump. I placed a 1/4 turn ball valve going to each 550lb sack in the V-drive lockers so I can divert water to one side or another if I want to surf. Additionally I added 250lbs to the bow with tractor weights. Move people around to even out the wake and have a good time from 70ft back. Now to get your boat set up for surfing I run the 550 in the locker plus 350 on top of the locker plus 350 in front of the locker. The 250lbs of tractor weights is permanent and I noticed the center tank being filled made the wake a little longer. To really clean up the wake I recommend that you have your friends sit on the surf side in the back and 1-2 people in the bow on the surf side. the people in the bow will help make the wake longer. I know this is a lot of weight but This is what I found makes the wake with this boat. good luck
  9. Ever been to Lake Almonar

Sorry to hear about your experience at Lake Almonar. I grew up going to that lake as a kid and in later years when I was in college. The only negative experience I recall is getting kicked out of the cabin my parents rented because the other family that came with us wanted to go in the attic but it was locked. Long story short they got into the attic and the property owner found out via the neighbors. As for the lake I would never go there to ride. To cold and chopped out for me. I would recommend Bucks Lake. It is next to Quincy Ca. It is a PG&E lake and they do a great job maintaining it. There is a lodge and cabins available there as well as camp sites. The lake has 1 bar and restaurant. They also have a Summer Boy Scout camp. I would say that the lake conditions are better than Almonar.
  10. New tow rig

Troy R. nice find that is the stuff you can only find in the central valley.
  11. I don't know much about the hybrid but I am interested to see how you like it. Here is a link from consumer reports review of the Tahoe hybrid. I will warn you the review is not a positive review for handling and comfort. http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/video-hub/cars/suvs--minivans/chevrolet-tahoe-hybrid-review/14684583001/1819737984/
  12. New tow rig

Nice choice. I'm on my 3rd dodge diesel and hands down the best mod for your truck will be a Mads smarty Sr. Power tuned. Gain fuel mileage and power. To do it right you will need intake and exhaust done with it but it is the best mod you can do to your truck. I'll try and post some pics of my current and past trucks.
  13. Soulcraft Welcome to the community and thank you for all that you do for the sport.
  14. I call this the Texas Sports Boats "Patriot Edition" A tribute to the all american Texan. With a few more custom touches this could be a special request package. I used the Centurion shield as the decal but I would put a large white star in its place the make the Patriot Edition complete. Along with a full compliment of enzo sacs
  15. cheap ballast

hear is a cheap option. 700lbs and a pump for $139.00 http://cgi.ebay.com/WAKEBOARD-TOWER-BALLAST-BAGS-FAT-SAC-700LBS-W-PUMP-/200632215819?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2eb69ca90b#ht_4930wt_1189 you can find more options on ebay just search ballast in the water sports category.
  16. Board help please

Hey Troy.R I have a shed stixx Jo Mako if you would like to try it out give me a PM. It's not a super durable board but you will know what type of board you really will enjoy, especially if you demo multiple boards.
  17. I have the factory ballast plus 2 540's along side the motor in the lockers. I also have 200lbs of tractor weights in the bow to balance out the boat and help keep the bow down. This year I am adding 2 350lbs sacs for surfing and wakeboarding. I will update you in about 2 weeks how the extra 700lbs works out. As for the center ballast on your boat I would get lead or tractor weights before I would get a ballast tank. IMO 250LBS OF IRON will not be what sinks your boat plus you don't have to plum in pumps and switches with lead or iron.
  18. Camper Question

So you will have 4 ft hanging off the back past the bumper? I would like to see what your rig looks like once you get it set up because it Sounds like you have some custom fabrication work ahead of you.
  19. If you r in central California I know a guy that did the upholstery of my 2000 eclipse for 1400 out the door. I know the elite will be more. Last year I think he told me 1600 for an elite. Not sure how much now.
  20. Take a Pic - WIN a Inland Surfer SQUIRT

pics of the Crew at Red Rock Lake in Orland California.
  21. To Beach or not to Beach

The risk versus gain is not worth it. Like Dura said "just gonna have to get wet" you are at a lake after all
  22. WOW!!!!!! That looks great. I cant believe that is not a brand new boat. Nice Job
  23. Ok so I installed my perfectpass in my 2000 centurion eclipse v-drive and with about 800lbs of ballast plus 600lbs of people the perfectpass had trouble holding speed . The worst part is that on a normal day I have 1550lbs of ballast with the option to add 700lbs depending on the event and riders level. I figure that I run no less than 1800lbs with a high of 2200lbs with riders. that day I only had 800lbs because I was on a private lake that has a no ballast agreement between the 2 owners but the owner I know really didn't care if I filled the ballast with in reason. After several runs we decided that I have to use a lot of throttle to get out of the hole for wakeboarding. Surfing the boat will not hold well below 11.7mph. The boat seams to have a lot on the top end. I have had the boat up to 45-50mph but it just gets to scary to go any faster and I have about 30% of my throttle left at that speed. The prop that is on the boat is an OJ Legend 4 blade 13 X 14. I have no other info on the prop or how it even got on my boat Help please what do you think I should do next?
  24. No not with gps like I said that boat is scary as shlt at that speed and there was plenty of throttle left. Kevin I'm sure your right I know you have had a few eclipse boats but at 45+mph it felt like more throttle than anyone would need. I did talk to acme prop and he told me that my current prop is made for speed. That was the trend in boats back then. He also said that the 525 or 653 prop would spank the OJ prop I have but the 911 prop might be a better option. Does any body have experience with these props and what would you run.
