  1. I’m thinking of retrofitting my Avy and adding surf tabs. I’ve done some research and saw some aftermarket options. The go surf assist seems to have pretty good reviews, but they are around $4,500. I was thinking of just buying some used centurion tabs online and attaching struts to them. There’s also switches out there for adjusting the tabs which are pretty cheap. I figure I could probably make it all with these parts for around 1,200-1,500. Any thoughts on this? The main problem that I foresee is the swim platform getting in the way. Regarding that topic. Has anyone raised their swim platform? I think it will start to get in the way once I weigh the boat down a lot more and have the tab push one side down. Any thoughts? These are ones’s in looking at:
  2. I just install quick surf tabs that I had made on my 2008 sv230. I couldn't be happier of what it has done for my goofy side. I also have more control over the size of the wave on the regular. The video isn't the greatest I will do a better one next week.
  3. Hey everyone. I've been reading on how people go about getting their elite-v's and avalanches listing to produce a great surf wave, all done through ballast bags or maybe even a surf gate on the side of their boat. Considering that all the newer Centurions have gone to surf tabs mounted on each side of the transom, in addition to the center trim tab, has anyone retrofitted either bennett or lenco tabs/actuators on their boat? I know that GoSurfAssist/WakeMakers makes a killer looking set of tabs with lenco actuators, but that's $4,000... Whereas I'm seeing more 'base' trim kits being sold for roughly $500. Do the fancy tabs literally make all the difference, or could you still weight your boat evenly, and then trim it to get it to list? Just wondering if anyone has gone down that road... and if they have... pics/video? For the record, if you wonder why I'm asking... I'm currently between boats and am considering an Elite-V or Avalanche where I can weight it down for surfing, but with these boats have a deep-v, the trim tabs would be essential in terms of listing the boat. My budget is around $20k, and I can't imagine spending $4k on tabs. $400-500 seems MUCH more reasonable. Thanks!
