  1. My wife and kids mentioned you came over and I had just missed you loading up. Definitely need help learning where we need to get our wave at and making the adjustments depending on load. I got to spend about 45 mins on the boat before the storm rolled in. We will be contacting you. Here is a pic of our first evenly weighted wave on Cultus last week. 3 Adults Totalling about 520 and one 90 lb kid on board.
  2. We looked at both, hummed and hawed for a week going back and forth sitting in both and decided that the extra 2' of cabin room was something we wanted. You gained storage at the backside of the helm, plus the additional bench, under front bow seats, if you don't fill the bow bag. And it is like being in a giant living room. You can spread your family and friends out everywhere and not feel crowded. The difference in price was pretty negligible, and our dealer was able to custom order our boat exactly as we wanted and have it to us in 5 weeks. Ordered May 26th, Arrived July 2nd. The 2017 S238 look a little different. Not sure I dig the half windshield. It makes the back of the boat look even longer.
  3. The 238, 202 and 211 tower have reverted to the old backwards sweep. Wonder how much head clearance there is when boarding from the swim platform down to the bench, and where the Bimini hangs. Not sure about a non wrap windshield. Trailers are different. No lit up Supreme at the rear. A stainless name plate up front. Wonder what cabin and mechanical features, if any, have changed?
  4. This is our first inboard and we are still trying to figure out our wakes on the S238. Super happy we went with the 238 over the 226 for the extra cabin room. It is nearly 2' difference on the benches, even though the boats are only 14" different in length. For wakeboarding we can get a really clean wake on the Port side, Starboard has some white wash at 20 MPH and can't seem to get it fully cleaned up. We will play around with speed, pop bags or dropping a little weight out of the hard tanks while driving perhaps. We had 2 adults, and one child aboard. A friend that has been boarding for 20+ years, said it was probably the nicest wake he has ridden and had no issues throwing tricks. For wakesurf wake, we have tried listed, with 100% weight only in a surfside rear corner and it has worked for us. Evenly weighted, we have had some good and bad results. Depending on the water condition, fuel, and how many people aboard, and where they sit.
  5. For bag information H20King in post #57 provided this information on their capacities. Seems there is some differing information on their actual sizes floating on the Internet and build sheets. I thought 2700 originally with std and optional. H20King seems to be very well versed on the S238 and has stock weight coming in at 2850lbs. http://www.centurioncrew.com/index.php/topic/10916-surf-setup/?p=150503 There are 3 Hard Tanks - 2 rear are Quick fill tanks controlled by Drain Master or newer models have the better Valterra valves, center is by Pump. Wake Plate gauge is an option, not standard I believe around $450ish. If it is an early model 2016 I don't think they were available at the time, so some were missing them. Ours has one large PNP Bow bag shaped like a 'U' to go under the bow seats and front bow as one unit. 2 rear PNP bags on top of the Quick Fill Hard tanks.
  6. While out on Cultus the past few evenings, we decided to try all the lights out. We noticed that to have the Bow lights on, The Interior switch is in the lower position, but this disables the interior LEDs and underwater surf light, which need to be in the upper position. Have any of you rewired this? Perhaps to the accessory button, as I haven't determined if it has a function just yet, or just doubled them up to the upper position? Has anyone thought of switching the surf tab switches to the Digital Lenco switch unit in order to gauge their tab location? Only downfall, is perhaps the size of them 2.75" X 2.75", and it looks like they would reset each time you rolled the key.
  7. Thank you, I will have to see if NW Boat sport will share some of their mods. The new boat every year is a great plan! Too bad in BC we lose 12% in tax as soon as we start writing our name on the sale. I'm still thinking about watching what we add in case we get on the plan. Ease of use stuff makes me smile, especially if it seems OK value to the dollar.
  8. NW Boat Sports seems to have all the cool mods. Wonder what else they have that we might like to upgrade/change. H20 do you happen to have a picture or two of the indicators installed? I would like to keep it looking factory'ish. I got the idea that it would be nice to have, when sitting in my buddys' Chapparel yesterday. He has the tab indicators.
  9. Surf setup

H20, how many people are usually tagging along with you, and are they balanced on the boat or sitting surf Side? When I revise the worksheet I will add those details in. That way people could make adjustments to suit. Do you have the 1939 or 1433 Prop? Ours came with the 1939.
  10. I fully agree with your statement Dark. NW Boat Sports replied to my quick fill valve question instantly and with solid advice.
  11. Surf setup

Thank you for all the info. Most the settings should still be applicable, as I was using some of the info you had posted for your surf custom settings. Going to revise these and include whether they are wakemakers or NW bags. Nice to know stock is 2850. I had seen 4 different scenarios. Either 2700, 2800, 2850 or 3150. With 2700 being the most common.
  12. Surf setup

The lake has been awesome this year so far. Way flatter than normal, and no one is on it unless it is a full blown sunny weekend this season so far. Strange. Once I get the true facts from a few of the S238 experts here, I will revise that spreadsheet. Hopefully it will give other new S238 owners some starting points to work from. Maybe it would help to add lake elevation too, for those that need further info on the prop being used.
  13. Surf setup

I goofed on Factory #4 goofy listed. Should be starboard not port marked. H20, what are all the bags and hard tanks rated at? I used info I had gathered off our build sheet and online. How does it all add up to 2700lbs factory? I will make changes to the spreadsheet then perhaps upload the spreadsheet so others can manipulate to their own settings or different boat. Went and hit Alouette tonight at 6:30 and had the lake to ourselves. Got to the 5 hour break in tonight, so tried the factory #4 listed settings. Both regular and goofy for my 12 and 13 year old boys and the wave was good for them. Now for us to try some even ballasted settings.
  14. Surf setup

After reading all the comments throughout, and jotting down some settings I made up a cheat sheet to try for some starting points. Some use Stock ballast. Some Stock Listed, and some custom with additional ballast. Some of the information is assumed for an alternate side, and in most cases. number of riders, their weight and distribution is not known. 15. Maybe something like these would help? https://www.wakemakers.com/engine-divider-panel-saver.html
  16. Here is what the power wall looks like in most the Supremes we have seen that included the factory charger. Then from the charger, there is a small power cord mounted in a housing with male prong to connect your extension cord.
  17. Strange it shipped out like that, but such an easy fix. We tested the fill valve manually. What was confusing for the briefest moment, was that one of the manuals provided described drain master valves and using a little provided Allen key. It was clearly evident upon watching the starboard valve operate, that you just removed the little clip that retains the handle and move it upwards to fill.
  18. Curious to see the correct wiring diagram as well to ensure we are set correctly. Our switch has to be in the 'Combine' position. If we place it to 'ON' it brings up 'Service Required' on the dash display.
  19. You rock. Problem solved. If it ever happens to anyone else. This is the little breaker you are looking for. So easy.
  20. No power back there. I hit the small reset several times. Even the small light bulb does not light on that dash switch. I found some fuses just above but all looked Ok.
  21. Opinions For New Boat!

Doh, our S238 comes in a couple days. Don't think we would want to wait for the Digital dash. Though it was something we would have liked the ability to add. Very intriguing. Wishful thinking on our part now, but perhaps it will be a plug and play upgrade on a 2016. Wonder what the new tower will look like.
  22. Good to know. Does he just take one in and they match it up, or he knows a specific part number?
  23. Alright, hopefully have everything correctly ordered to add the visual detection. That will keep the kids happy that they can see the water draining out the sides. Do you typically keep one or 2 spare pump impellors onboard as well?
  24. Looking at our HomeDepot and Lowes online, they carry a female Check valve in PVC or Brass Have to introduce more connection points with this method though. https://www.homedepot.ca/en/home/p.check-valve-1-inch-pvc.1000145617.html https://www.homedepot.ca/en/home/p.1-inch-bronze-check-valve.1000154528.html https://www.lowes.ca/water-pumps/anka-1-in-check-valve_g2561610.html?searchTerm=check-valve or just order the Wakemaker version https://www.wakemakers.com/marine-check-valve.html 10' of 1" Black hose enough to do the front and 2 sides?
  25. Couple questions in regards to trailer towing requirements in BC. For British Columbia it states that surge brakes alone are not sufficient for trailers registered at 2800kg (6173 lbs) GVW or above, and they must have a means of being operated via the driver in the cab. Therefore you would need electric over Hydraulic and I don't think the trailers are coming this way. ****** Gross trailer weight of more than 2,800 kg (6,173 Ibs) – Brakes are required, and the trailer brakes must be capable of being applied by the driver independently of the towing vehicle's brakes. A surge brake does NOT meet this requirement. A breakaway brake is also required. Brakes are required on all axles. ****** With an S238 having a dryweight of 4800 lbs, then other options and accessories and the the trailer weighing 1300 to 1400lbs you would be over 6173 lbs, so couldn't even down grade the trailer capacity from 3400 kg (7500 lbs). Has anyone had any issues towing with surge brakes only in British Columbia on your larger boats? Our current Tandem trailer is rated to 5000 lbs GVW so no issues. Does anyone get a $30 term permit to tow overwidth? I believe the trailers are around 9' wide with the guide poles in, and max allowable is 8'-6" across Canada. While we are on trailering, does anyone happen to know the tongue height and weight on the S238 trailer? 19" / 20"? Our current trailer sits at 22" I'm one of those OCD Anxious people, and like everything to be just right. Thank you. MV3230 trailer guidelines.pdf
