  1. Hey h20king Would those side sacs be similar in size to the fly high 260# set? I can get a deal on those but they spec out on paper to 12" deep and I don't have a compartment to measure. Guess I could have the dealer do that though. Anyway - its apparent around 1500# per side is needed plus the Quickfill 500 for the baller wake, bow excluded. This would make perfect sense as its a deep heavy long boat. Displacement still rules the day. Ri"s seem to run near as much ballast as boat dry weight, so match that to a supreme and we should be optimizing the boat. Theoretical but I guess I'll find out in a few months. Thanks.
  2. New Truck for ri257

New Ri257 and a new 1ton Diesel to pull it, daymn, life goals right there. Well done, that is a premium set up.
  3. Super easy to split the sac. Just get two wye fittings and split your fill/drain line and vent line and run it to the new sac. I would not hire a dealer for this, I would get a six pack crank the wetsounds and get it done. It is not boat ownership until you have spent some time in the lockers hunched over routing, cutting and clamping hose. I may just install rear bags and fill midship with a pump at the start of the season and leave them. The diesel 350 won't even notice the extra weight while towing. Sumo Vs Fly High? To me it's a bag to hold water. Whatever is cheap and available. They are close on price so whatever you like, one made in China one made in USA. I got some sumo 1000 for a steal so I'll roll with those.
  4. You can also use Sumo Sacs: Sumo 800 / 1000 Rear Lockers Sumo 250/325 Port Midship Sumo 250 Starboard Lead is your friend, I'd say 150# for each rear locker then couple hundred for wherever depending on which side you are surfing. My 238 is on order and I will try a similar set up, this season, but not till May or so.
  5. WWYD?

What engine does the Ri have? I have been told to get an H6 or keep looking.
  6. I guess more draft simply equates to more displacement?
  7. I think the S238 is simply way underweighted from the factory for whatever reason. Put 4000# of ballast in it and it should work good. Basically an updated SV240 in my opinion. The Ri is Boss Sauce for sure, but at our recent boat show a decked out Ri was 150-160k CAD and a S238 was $105. So I see $55k reasons why that Ri better surf better out of the box. All these new boats are so awesome, hard to resist the temptation.
  8. What do you think about the dollar exchange? I was thinking about ordering something up too, but man we could take a big hit if the dollar corrects hard at some point in the mid term. Guess that just makes this boat expensive and the next one cheaper. I am talking snow pesos here.
  9. New 2017 S238 videos

I think the boat looks pretty styling with the Bimini deployed. Maybe not as good with it retracted. I think the other features and overall value of the boat make the windshield tolerable, plus functionally it may prove to be useful. In fact what annoys me more is the exposed heater ducting under the drivers footwell. That is just straight up cheese. Hide that damn thing Fineline, seriously very poor layout. Keep it clean.
  10. Hey @Race City Marine & @NWBoard Sports What do you guys think about 1000# sumo sacs for the rear lockers and say 250# of lead for port and starboard mid ship? Also, are the quick full tanks (rear) 500# or 750#.
  11. Right on man - thanks. Wave looks like a lot of fun.
  12. Yea I use one on my (red/black) FX22 to make a nasty wave and we slapped it on Jeff Wahlers (blue/black) FX22 as well so he could try it out, The boat throws twice the wave with it vs listing it. Ive got a few videos/pics in here and the Oct thread. Do you mind sharing what your setup is on the fx22 non listed suckgated setup? Do you have a bagged or ramfill boat? I am guessing 409 engine, does she suck back more fuel when running evenly weighted. Thanks.
  13. Damn - I need to get on the Arizona vacation home winter mod.
  14. Supreme Crew: On the verge of swapping the SV230 for the 17 238 (Half Windshield and all) . Couple reasons for the change - can make some money on the SV, pick up some decent end of season discounts and step into something with full warranty, bigger engine and just newer all around. Plus all you maniacs posting up your winter mods on the new boat every two year plan do not help my already weak rubber arm. I wont be able to lake test the beast, but she seems like a beautiful boat. Reminds me a lot of my SV with maybe a more avalanche esq top deck. Anybody got some thoughts / experience with the goofy wave? Kind of thinking I would like to run this boat listed to cut down on fuel consumption plus maintain storage, but maybe with the bigger motor, updated gearing and high altitude prop this is less of an issue relative to when quick surf was first implemented. Apologies if it a bit of a repeat topic but I have not seen the goofy wave debated summarized in one solid thread. Seem to be bits and pieces of information everywhere. Regards.
  15. Thanks - Helpful and well thought out. Good idea on the mini vacuum. I hate lugging out my shop vac to clean the boat. Now to find a 12v with dyson like preformance.
  16. Seems like they should fit nice. They are same length as the Fly High 750 but 2" more in width and height. This is all theoretical though.
  17. The new 2017 sumo sac 1000# bag looks nice and about the same size as a fly high 750# and on sale today @ WM. Just saying! Hey @ MFaso what do you think of the Supreme Friction Flooring. I am leaning this route if I build out a new one. Never seen it in person though. I like the carpet and gator but my kids need chips, pop and candy to stay happy whist we surf, so I think the friction floor is the most maintenance free option.
  18. 2007 CENTURION ENZO SV216

I have a 2008 Enzo in tip top shape I am thinking of moving. Its surfing pedigree is well established. I don't want to spam this board with details so hit me up if interested as I would like to see it got to a good home: http://www.kijiji.ca/v-powerboat-motorboat/calgary/2008-centurion-enzo-sv230-low-hours-clean-surf-boat/1215674951?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true
  19. Maybe take the Winterization (unless you plan to do it yourself, its fairly easy) and 25 Hour Service. If you are buying the boat for sure snag 1100lb Bags from wakemakers during the black Friday event that is on till Monday then grab 400lb in lead and put 200 under each side seat in lieu of the piggyback system. This also allows you to maintain your storage. You could also just swap lead surf side to surfside side and order less to save money (250#). 1100# Bags are what is being recommended to me by three dealers, then after all this if your wave still ain't where you want it you still have your stock 550#s to throw on seats and fill for that thigh high Fineline rip curl. Wakemakers 1100 @ $179x2 = 360 400# of POP $375 Shipped = 375 = $735 and $500 ahead over the dealers set up with storage for yer fishing rods you can take the whole set up with you when you sell / trade. ^^^^^ This is what I will do if I make the jump into the 238 I am eyeing up. I scoped the 238 Yesterday - I like everything except the unlabeled switches, exposed piping under the helm and non hidden hinges on the glove box. Also they need to have a better solution for getting from the water back into the boat. The walk through is poorly executed IMO and something like the old Enzo with the HDPE under the hatch cover and a little rubberized step under the starboard seat would work well. All in all the 238 reminded me a lot of my EnZo and that is a good thing.
  20. Damn - this might just be the motivation I need to make a move on the FX 22 I have been eyeing up. That goofy wave is stomping.

  22. Anybody Surfed the S238 with the new style stinger trim plate ( double edge sword with wings)? Curious how it impacts the wave over the previous model.
  23. 2017 Stinger Plate

I think the 6.0 is the no brainer engine choice for 2017. Direct injection is cool tech but not worth the premium at the time unless you have deep pockets. Hopefully that gap will get narrower, because they seem like great engines I was just curious on fuel consumption with evenly weighted boats. I was reading that someones FS44 was using up to 9.5 gph with the quick surf system, which seemed like a lot.
  24. Well you will not regret that choice one bit, but now you have to much truck and will require a RI257 to justify all that towing capacity!! My dads 2012 Duramax can do 11-12L/100km stock unloaded on the highway in winter. This was in flat old Sask though - but I was impressed. My Ford will only do 14.5L/100KM on the highway in similar conditions so I was a little chuffed - but I am Leveled with Mud tires and well its a Ford. Pretty impressive for a 8000lb vehicle. Enjoy the new ride.
  25. Congrats on the boat. I think sideswipe is already a FAE of sorts since diverts the exhaust away from the surfer. The FAE conversion for the sideswipe is cool though - but pricey. Some inline silencers like the ones from http://marineexhaust.ggb.ca/4-inch-insert-85-inch-long-sport-pair help with the noise, a lot. I also used to dump the exhaust under water on the surf side to dampen the exhaust note even further, but I soon realized this causes spray on that beautiful Enzo wave - no bueno. Sac wise I think just go with the Enzo sac and hook it or them up to fill off of the Pump Puppies. I scraped the sprinkler valves and added my own 1" manifold and supply with 4 PVC ball valves that divert flow to either the port or the starboard side depending on who's surfing. Draining is accomplished with two Aerators per bag. Probably takes 10 min to switch sides. I also run another 400lb bag on the surf side seat if its just my wife and I plus our two 40#s. Works good and that regular wave is nice as can be. BTW - I think the Bimini in your picture mounts on the front arms not the rear for transport, more support that way.
