  1. My new ride

Oh sorry, I should have read your post more closely, I see you have quicksurf. The instructions I gave is how I would list the boat, as far as with the quicksurf goes... I have no idea... but I imagine someone on here will.
  2. S21 vs S226

Go with a 238, I got the S21, and although I love it and find it to be fine for space, I know I will be upgrading to a 238 within the next couple years. The boats are all similar freeboard, weight, and width, so really it's not going to feel like you have that much bigger of a boat for trailering, storing, or maneuvering. But it will feel "that" much bigger when you have 10 people and gear on board
  3. My new ride

HeyI don't ride goofy all that often so every time I do it's a new learning curve, BrandinS21 mostly rides goofy, I'm not sure if he is on here these days or not. Here's what I would do if I was setting up your boat. Depending on how many people you have on board this can change. Fill your starboard side bags and quickfill completely full, then fill your port side quickfill only. If you have people put them on the starboard side and put 1 big or 2 small people in the bow on the surf side. Now set cruise to about 11mph, once up to speed have a look at it, depending on how many people you have on the starboard side this may be ok. If the wave is washing out start draining the port side quickfill, once you have a nice curl close the port side quickfill. Adjust the trim tab and speed to get the best possible wave. The great thing with the s21 and the S226 is they are sooo easy to get a surf wave, from there you can get better and better, but there is so much push from the wave even if your settings aren't bang on you will have fun all day. Just keep tweaking it and reading on this site until you find the absolute perfect setup for you and your crew! I had a wave this summer that impressed everyone on board every time. And that is why I love my supreme Oh and I more thing I should add your rub rail on the surf side at the back of the boat should be 2-3" above the water line when stopped and water flowing over it when underway

I don't have the big plate, just the smaller one that came on the 2015. I had goofy people on my boat for the first time this summer, and I actually got a really nice wave. I learned that you can't have ANY counter weight. I had everyone crammed on the starboard side of the boat because even 1 adult on the port side would put too much wash onto the wave. Definitely the goofy wave is finiky, adjusting the wake plate even a tiny bit and speed can affect it a lot, whereas the regular wave definitely has a "sweet spot" but there is a range where the wave is very surfable.
  5. I understand your pain, It was really hard for me to buy bags to put on my seats for my S21, I was in the same position as you. Finally I caved and bought a 600 for my rear seat and a 150 for my bow (the S21 has no bow ballast) The way I see it, on days that I need the seat space I leave the 600 tucked away because I have enough people weight in my boat (and it's funny they give me gas money on top of making my surf wave amazing!...shh don't tell them that) And on days I need it I have enough extra room in the boat because of the lack of people.
  6. Valterra Quickfill uprgrade

Yah, the drainmasters are definitely a weak motor, I'm very impressed with the power of the valterras. Unfortunately I just got it figured out in time to winterize the boat! I guess that's one less thing I need to do next season Us northerners have much too short of a season
  7. My new ride

Awesome! If you need a hand dialing it in there is a ton of help on here! I'm pretty sure I have the best possible wave out of my S21 thanks to the crew!
  8. Valterra Quickfill uprgrade

Here's some pictures of what I did I had to notch about 3" high by 10" long out of the port side and only about 1.5" by 8" out of the starboard one. I like this system much better than the drainmasters because my PNPs were always pushing the manual valve on the drainmaster ones closed Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Valterra Quickfill uprgrade

Ok Cdifranco you were right, I tried a little harder after looking at your pictures and fit them in like you have, then just used a jigsaw to cut out the engine divider to fit, I am much happier with them opening into the engine compartment! No more ropes getting sucked in!! That being said I still had to notch the handle a bit to miss the bracket that the engine divider sits in, and it seems with them at that angle the rubber coupler hose sits at a bit of an angle, but everything tightened up so it should be good. It sure would be terrible if that hose ever came off, that would give the term "hull flooding" a new meaning
  10. Valterra Quickfill uprgrade

Oh and are you guys using the switches that came with the harnesses? They are so ugly, but because of the way the Vallerra valves turn the lights on the original drain masters can't be used.
  11. Valterra Quickfill uprgrade

OhI see, yah I tried to angle mine but I guess on the S21 the pipe is closer to the bottom of the hull because the bottom of the quick fill hits the bottom of my hull when they are at that angle Cutting the handle down worked fine, there is still lots of handle to grab and I rounded it so it's smooth and can't hurt the fly high on top if it does happen to rub it a bit
  12. Supreme S238 vs. Axis T23

Yes it was mostly dry, at one point I was crossing with the wind blowing sideways into the boat and we got pretty wet, As long as I'm going straight into it or with it it's pretty good. Were you taking any over the bow?
  13. Valterra Quickfill uprgrade

Hey, you wouldn't happen to have a picture of this would you? Maybe it's different for the S21? I cut about 1/3 of the handle off and it is working good now, the drain master ones were nice because they were fully enclosed, but I can tell the Valterra are built better. That being said my Valterra one sucked a tube rope into the cogs on the handle, that was fun.
  14. If the boat is porpoising just adjust the trim tab, that's all I do with my S21, other than 19" and a better surf wave they are very similar boats in design and how they handle.
  15. Valterra Quickfill uprgrade

Hmm I'm not seeing how that could work When the valve is open the handle is like 6" up the engine divider I'm probably just looking at it backwards and not getting it
