  1. Lots of posts in here about Avy ballast projects, do some searching, I think BigCat had a link to his project that really helped me a few years ago. CrewAdmin helped me with my custom sac; ordered through here, great deal and awesome knowledge of the specific boat. I went with 911 prop (huge upgrade) and slammed the boat with weight. I used a brick on the transom, my 1500# avy sac on port side, a 400# bag in the bow, and on light crew days (kids were small back then) added a 400# on port seats. Whatever got my rubrail to the waterline. There are some posts of setups with surfgate on this site. Enjoy!!
  2. 2006 Avalanche

spend some time with the search function here. I had an '03 and you can learn a ton from this site. Lotsa great info. I had a hot/cold shower and a heatercraft heater. If you can't find what you're looking for feel free to ask specific questions
  3. In search of Surf Boat

like guido I have Enzo 230 (same hull as 233) I think both models (Avy and Enzo) will hold value if well cared for. New boat prices are insane, I bought my Avy for 28K, and I did put a bunch into it; but after 8 seasons sold it for 24K, even with over 1000 hours. It's a challenge to find a sweet surf wave for 25K
  4. In search of Surf Boat

I thought alarm bells went off in the deep recesses of my brain to avoid the Enzo 216/220 for surfing. Not sure if that is the post I remember but I would definitely search the forum before that purchase. I had an Avy for 6 seasons-ran it listed, loved me that boat... I've had my Enzo for two seasons. As good as the Avy wave was, the Enzo=beefier wave with more push at the rear of the wave. Going from great to awesome!!
  5. Sub Help: Who’s Cut Their Hump?

not my field of expertise. My project was with input from other crew and box/subwoofer support worked flawlessly. Good luck!
  6. Sub Help: Who’s Cut Their Hump?

Sorry couldn't find any pics of finished product!
  7. Sub Help: Who’s Cut Their Hump?

Did this a few years back on my '03 Avy. I had a heater port and a sub in the footrest. Sawzall around the perimeter. Used styrofoam between the back part of the hump and the steering cables and other junk that was hanging out back there so I didn't cut anything. Built a "bridge" over the hole in the floor with birch that was elevated using some plastic washers so air would flow in there and keep from collecting moisture. Coated the birch in fiberglass resin and think I plastic-dipped in black. Then mounted box with new JL sub onto the "bridge." Later built a section next to it to hold the heater vent. Was very please with the results
  8. LETS SEE YOUR RIDES

schmexy! Good looking set-up; well executed. Even the dog matches the boat/truck combo!!
  9. 2006 Enzo storm

I drove over 9 hours to get mine and would do it again in a heartbeat
  10. Evolution tower removed

would love to see what your replacement looks like
  11. How do you like the ITC's at night? I have some traditional Innovative Lighting dock lights but not super bright. Wondering about adding these on as "high beams"
  12. New board

I would have agreed with you about the surf style board getting air more easily a couple weeks ago. The Diamond 54 is definitely slipperier(?) but the more time I spend on it and find the right balance, I honestly think it's just a little different riding style. With the surf I would actually get short of breath/dry mouth and kinda tired at the end of a ride from working. I can ride a lot longer on the skim with a lot less physical work if that makes sense. The hypsta was fast with some more traction underfoot but I would not say it is anything like the race. Still feels like a skim at heart. I got the Diamond 54 for $540 cause it had a blem on the paint. These are all expensive boards
  13. New board

Intermediate surfer. 6’2”, 180#, been riding about nine seasons now. Over the last 5 to 6 years have surfed mostly surf style boards. Started on a IS squirt, moved to an older (maroon) sweet spot for a couple seasons, then bought a used soulcraft jetty which I used behind my Avy until I upgraded to an Enzo last year. With the new boat I got a phase 5 race 53.5 which I’ve happily been using since then. Really fun, playful, nice and fast and I really have a blast with it. Lucky to go on a boat demo recently and rode a newer sweet spot which pearled much less than my old one. Ventured into some skim boards including the phase 5 diamond CL 54, hypsta 54, and diamond 54. I tried the CL first and really enjoyed it. Not super slippery, good speed and feedback on the wave. I then moved to the hypsta and fell in love immediately. This thing is super fast yet stable and a little wider platform. I couldn’t quite equal the air I get on my race, but kept reaching for the board to ride it again. This week I got to demo the diamond. To me this seemed the best of both worlds. It was very fast like the hypsta, but seems just a little stiffer and allows me to get up in the air a bit better. A little more slippery but I’m getting used to it and having a ball. Easy to butter and maintain speed, even riding switch ( with the rope) and as close to landing a three as ever. Get the board in the right position at the back of the wave and it’s a rocket. I have not consistently recovered from this far back on a surf style. I know these are not very technical descriptions. I’m no pro but I spent a lot of time on the water. Happy to offer feedback on any of these boards if anybody’s looking. I was definitely impressed by phase 5 however, they have some awesome stuff out there.
  14. The Loud BEEP of death

Sorry to hear of your troubles, brother. I have no idea but hopefully someone with more knowledge will chime in. Glad to hear some lake time was salvageable. Is there a Mercruiser dealer around that could hook it up to the computer for diagnostics?
  15. I had an '03 Avy with walkthrough. We listed to port as we were all regular riders. Custom port avy bag (1500#) with 400#bag on port seat, 400# bag in bow and fat brick on platform with small crew. Calm lake too as rubrail was wet. Like Willy.Fire says trimmed the seat bags when more crew on board...
  16. New here, with a few Enzo questions ~

My bad. Platform just looked low to me. Mine appears to sit a bit higher but I found this pic which looks closer to yours
  17. Dealer service

will the Nautique dealer help you out? same parent company. I have a Mastercraft dealer that helps me with my 2013 Enzo. He and I grew rapport around my Avy that I bought in '08 and he had serviced. When I upgraded last year to the Enzo I asked him about MC boats but he didn't have anything in my price range. He then said, "no matter what you decide to do, I'd love to help you with whatever brand you end up with..." Having said that, my 2013 is way less complicated than something newer. A good dealer is worth their weight in gold
  18. New here, with a few Enzo questions ~

Super cool boat. Never seen one of these. What was it built to tow? I think you may need to raise your swim platform from the look of your transom on the video; interested to see if others have surfed behind this particular hull and if it sets up different from a conventional enzo
  19. New here, with a few Enzo questions ~

yes like Jake says above; another vid Are you putting an aftermarket tower on that bad boy?
  20. Initial stage of GSA install on 2013 Enzo SV 230+. I was going to wait until things were a little farther along, but I ran into a snag and was a bit delayed so I figured I would start to post. It sounds like there a couple other Enzo owners out there who are thinking of installing. Thanks to MrWick for his thread on the supreme install. I will try not to duplicate too much, but it seems that there are some unique differences based on my transom shape. I’ve watched all the installation videos and number of times and would agree that they are really good. Keep in mind I am not mechanically inclined so I’m going slow and asking lots of questions to Ryan at GSA. Support has been awesome. I decided to go with the GSA system after reading numerous posts including synergytogo from last summer. I bought my Enzo last summer coming off 8 seasons on an avy. I absolutely love the wave listed. I experimented with the suck gate and enjoyed a that even more. I was intrigued at the ability to do transfers and the technology from GSA. Picked the system up on Black Friday. First things first. Tab mounting is complicated by the curve or radius on the back of the transom as it moves out to the side of the boat. There is also a bulge where the surf platform mounting bracket secures to the hull. A little difficult to tell in the pictures.
  21. System continues to work great. I did end up re-propping. Talked to Nettles and they recommended going to the Acme 1617. I had the 1847. Only a couple clicks lower on the RPM gauge but a noticeable improvement in handling the weight and maintaining speed. Also used their Weekend Saver C-clamp prop puller. It was super easy, never pulled a prop before but worked as advertised and essentially stress free.
  22. New here, with a few Enzo questions ~

looks like you will need to learn platform starts!!
  23. Swim Deck

Is your platform bracket bent? It looks normal on port, high on strbd
