  1. RGB LED multiple channel controller recommendations

Jonyb, Thanks for the info and forewarning! That was a great looking install. Unfortunately, I'm still battling the audio installation. I just went to mount the Rev10s to the Evo and found out we are one of the lucky few that have the Evo drilled and bushed for BOLT-BOLT-WIRE HOLE pattern instead of the X-mount's BOLT-WIRE HOLE-BOLT pattern... Fun fun:-)
  2. RGB LED multiple channel controller recommendations

Thanks for the reply MrN. I just found the answer in the comments on YouTube. The boat in the video used an Oznium 4 zone controller. The Wetsounds controller appears to be only two zones. I'll update when the instal is complete!
  3. I'm upgrading the audio in the Enzo and have rgb LEDs for the tower and in boat speakers (wetsounds). I'm not having much luck finding a good multi-channel controller. I'm looking for something that has an rf remote, music programming and enough channels to make a disco on the lake! If you've seen the Wetsounds video in their gallery (playing GaGa's "Starstruck"), that is the effect I'm looking for. Any ideas?
  4. What would you recommend (speaker upgrade)

Yes, I'm near Louisville, but won't be around:-( I'm leaning towards the Rev10's (one pair) and a new amp. Maybe the 650s depending on the cost. I'll update with pics when it's done! Might be a while... The Enzo is still winterized:-(
  5. What would you recommend (speaker upgrade)

Thanks for the pic Enzo on LI. That totally helps. Wylie, I totally agree with your AMP assessment. I have an overheating issue (that is the fault light that illuminates), but I wasn't sure if my AMP or wires are showing signs of age since that was never a problem before. I've thought of adding a heat sink, but didn't know if an amp upgrade would be a good idea if I was to upgrade the speakers! What do you think? Jonyb, I am in KY. Since it sounds like you have experience with both, what do you recommend - Rev8's or 10's? Also, what does everybody think about the speakers for inside the boat? I can't look at the boat now, but I think I have the 4 units in the stern and 2 in the bow - sound right?
  6. What would you recommend (speaker upgrade)

Thanks for the responses:-) Enzo on LI, could you post a pic of your tower/speaker combo? Did your headroom stay about the same as with the factory speakers? Also, how big of a difference is there between the Rev 8 and Rev 10? Would two pairs of 8s be better than one pair of Rev 10s?
  7. I am planning to upgrade my current sound system, and need some advice. This is what I have now: '06 Enzo SV230, storm package, Sideswipe, Evolution tower with 4 speakers (2 cans per side), Sony kicker amp and Sony sub. I want better sound quality overall, a better amp setup (the Kicker overheats and cuts-out the tower speakers sometimes), and more focused sound to the surfer/wakeboarder (remember the sideswipe!) I don't want to spend a fortune, but I know quality isn't cheap! That being said, there is a point where you can spend a lot only to gain a marginal improvement. So what do you recommend? Wetsounds? JL? ??? I'm particularly interested in comments from others with Evolution towers. TIA & btw, I did search past posts, but didn't find enough info!
  8. Good news: I figured out what size: 7/32" internal hex (allen wrench). My normal allen wrench set skipped that size, but my more complete shop set included it. Bad News: The bolt in question stripped the backing plate . I will have to get a longer bolt and tap a new backing plate. Any better ideas?
  9. One of my swim platform brackets on the transom is a little loose ('06 Enzo 230). It is a hex head fastener, but neither my SAE or metric allen wrenches seem to fit. They are either too large or too small! Is it some funky size? Also, what does the fastener terminate in? I didn't have a lot of time to look, but I didn't see a backplate or nut/washer combo on the inside of the hull. I'm guessing there must be a nut plate covered by the carpet??? Thanks, KS
  10. I have calls/emails in to both Fineline and Pivotal - I'll update when I hear back from them. In the meantime, I will drink heavily to numb the pain of starring at my once pristine transom
  11. Thanks for the replies! Yes, we did have the 5/16" silicone bronze shear bolt supplied by Pivotal installed. Ironically, I changed out the lower bolt a couple of seasons ago because our blade originally a smaller diameter stainless bolt from the dealer! I haven't inspected the inside for damage yet, but I will post the results when I do. Hopefully it is just cosmetic - that would be a lot easier pill to swallow. Depending of the cost and what repairs are necessary, I have debated pulling the blade and going to the Bennet tab. We really love or blade and enjoy the ability to adjust the wake on the fly. On the negative side, we always have to trailer and fussing with removing the blade is one extra step, and the actuators are expensive. (I installed this fateful pair <100 hours ago!) What are your opinions - Bennet tab vs SB? We have an Enzo sac and it always seems noticeable when the Switchblade auto launch feature kicks in. Without the blade, our wave never seems to clean up as well and also seems less "rampy". Does the Bennet tab help a great deal?
  12. Well, after reading about other crew members having bad things happen and counting ourselves lucky, I guess it was our turn... We were towing a wakeboarder on our local lake and then, "BAM"! With a sound loud enough that another boat near us heard it and a large shudder, we hit some submerged timber . We were in 40 foot depth and NOTHING was visible above the water. We shut down and I jumped in to check out the damage. Amazingly, the prop and rudder were unharmed. The Switchblade itself was also unharmed. I then noticed that the lower attach bolt had sheared as designed. I removed the Switchblade in the water because my extra shear bolt was in the truck. (BTW, I used a line tied to the blade in case I dropped it in the water - I highly reccommed doing that if you have a similar scenario in open water!) I then noticed that the Lenco actuators had ripped from the transom mounts - not good. After putting the boat on the trailer, I then found spider cracks emanating from the transom doubler (see pic). Here are the pics: So here are my questions: 1) Why did the shear bolt not fail at a lower force to protect the actuators - is the lower bolt designed to require too much force? 2) Even if the bolt doesn't protect the actuators, shouldn't it have protected the transom from such high stress? 3) Any ideas on how to evaluate the damage to the transom to determine if the cracks are cosmetic or structural? 4) If repairs are required, how realistic is it to get the gel coat to match perfectly? Thanks, I will now return to my happy place KS
  13. Jlancew, Just wanted to let you know I couldn't email you the pics earlier. I was in Mexico and just got back this morning. For some reason, I could receive emails, but I couldn't send any out. Glad this helps! KS
  14. Thanks for the props I definitely think it is worth it. First, the old baffles would make a clanking noise sometimes at idle. The new baffles have no moving parts, so there is no clanking sound. As some have pointed out, the sound reduction is not huge, but it seems to "re-tune" the noise signature and is noticeably better at wakeboarding and surfing speeds. The only negative is that the cool throaty idle sound at the dock that makes everyone look when you start is not quite as loud! Hope this helps, KS
