  1. My previous boat was on 07 SV230 and we have an amazing port side wake. We pulled the tank that was under the seat behind the driver and replaced it with a 400# sac. A few hundred pounds of lead between the two port sacs or a couple people sitting in that corner helps. We had gps PP so speed was 11.5 mph for steep wake and 11.2 for a little softer. Wakeplate around 25%. The only time we used ballast in the bow was when there were lots of passenger in the back.

We've actually had a couple days of sunshine grace us with it's presence so far this month. I was fortunate enough to have one of them off! So here's some pics of our surf crew on tuesday. Everyone had a great time behind my buddies 2017 Ri237. I was ecstatic to be able to ride without booties on and not have my feet go numb within 5 mins! COME ON SUMMER!!

Come on Dark, man up and ditch the booties. Having frozen feet is just the Canadian way.?

Will the A-symmetrical wing plate fix the goofy wave? I would definitely do a vertical surfgate on a older 230 and I would think that could fix or at least reallyl help the goofy side. Everything else I have put vertical gates on has been a dramatic difference.

It helps but still not a great goofy wake. We have the A plate on our SV244 along with CATS. Port side wake is great, goofy wake is good.

  4. If you find an Enzo that you really like and it doesn't have a reverse rotation prop then this would be an option:

I have a 2014 SV244 none ramfill and it is an amazing boat. CATS is a must have option. Goofy wake is still not at the level of the port side but still pretty darn good. Gladiator tower is probably the best of the bunch on the Enzo's as it has at least 6' clearance below the tower speakers.

  5. I owned an 2007 SV230 and if I was a goofy rider I would not purchase that boat without the reverse rotation drive. We are all regular riders but a bunch of my friends ride goofy and we could never get a wake with similar push. It will clean up nice with some extra lead in the boat and listed to the point of water coming in the vents but it just won't get the power at the back of the wake that the port side gets. There aren't many boats that can put out a port side wake like the Enzo's can but one with a regular (LH I think) prop would not be my choice for a "goofy side first" boat.

Thanks for the pictures Fivebar2. I greased the CATS fitting and cycled it a couple of times again today but feeling too lazy to pull the floor again and take the hydraulic shaft out for inspection. Next time we hit the lake I guess I'll find out if it's fixed or not. Maybe I'll order a new one anyway just to have a spare. Any special tools required?

  7. InfinitySurf, just re-reading your post and it doesn't sound like you have any counter ballast. In my boat the QF ballast tanks hold about 500#'s so that is what we run at the back of the starboard side. We do not run bow weight.

We're usually just a small crew so passengers sit anywhere on port side. For a larger crew we will move one or two passengers behind the driver on the starboard side seat.

  8. Thanks, cant wait to surf it. I was with family and meeting friends, so didnt get a chance to surf last Sunday, but water temp is not bad at 68-70 degrees (will get to 90 her mid summer). Its still up and down during day/night depending on weather, but good days are mid 70's already....love it! Plan to be out again on Sunday and do some more extensive testing. I dropped the boat off today to get 5% tint install on the windshield!

In that picture I had it listed with Ramfill and added around 600lbs in my 750lb bag in Port locker and nothing else (just me and wife in boat) since I only had 10mins to play with that and didnt want to run around checking for leaks since first time filling my ballast this year after un-winterizing bags.

I got a Nauticurl suck gate tho....this weekend, I am gonna slam all the Ramfill and both of my rear bags and fill my bow sac, which I think is around 450lbs? (Still trying to verify how much the Ramfill fits in that boat....I found specs on Iboats.com that says it holds 548 gallons for around 4500lbs....anyone know if that is true for a 2014 SV244, 1st year for Ramfill/CATS). Then I am gonna slap the suck gate on it and see what happens cause I really want the wave to lengthen out. Wave curl was only roughly 15ft off the rear and would like to get the pocket back to around 30ft. Think by adding the weight to front, increasing my speed (since I was only at 10.8 on that pic) and playing with the CATS, I hope to get a sweet, steep wave with long pocket.

Also looking to buy around 500lbs of lead soon to be able to spread around the boat as needed.

Anyone know where I can get the best package deal for 500lbs?

InfinitySurf, I have a 2014 SV244 (not ramfill) and to get the longest strongest wake you have to go 11.5 mph. Our setup for the port wake is both QF full, and the port pro and port pnp full. Also 200#'s of lead jammed in the very back port locker plus another 200#'s between the port sacs.

I prefer the wake a bit mellow so CATS at 50 (centered) and the wake plate around 30% and 11.2 mph. My teenagers want steep and long so CATS at 100, wakeplate at 0 and 11.5 mph.

  9. The FAE is a must have on any boat. I've had one all all three of mine. That FAE design looks different from the one I purchased in 2014 for my 2014 SV244. Mine came off the boat twice and fortunately got caught up on the wakeplate and did not go to the bottom of the lake. I had a custom frame built to mount it up to the swim platform. I also had major spray issues so had a custom matt built to knock the spray down as well. If you do a search the pictures should be on here somewhere.
