  1. Soulcraft. It's time

Yup. Supposedly it's wider on the front for riding reverse? Like I'll pull that off It could be made with carbon, it's in transit so haven't looked closely yet.
  2. Soulcraft. It's time

I think it is just painted to look like carbon. My skinny old legs don't get air so no issues with breaking them here. lol
  3. The 409 works great in my SV244 so should fine for an RI217.
  4. SV244 Boat Cover

Ya, I've been looking at pictures online and it seems the same. wasn't sure if there were some subtle changes.
  5. Soulcraft. It's time

Decided to stick with what I know. Here's what the new ride looks like:
  6. There is an update on the Clarion website you can do that will get your iPhone 6 hooked up. I did it on my stereo and it works fine.
  7. 2007 CENTURION ENZO SV216

Yes, if you're actually wanting a good "surf" boat an SV230 or SV240 would be a much better option.
  8. Soulcraft. It's time

I'm thinking of getting a new board for next season. Have any of you compared the nose rocker on Soulcrafts to the TWP Bombpop? DarksideR, sounds like your new Soulcraft has less nose rocker than the Emily. What model is it?
  9. Yup, four dics brakes on VW and very powerful (probably way more stopping power than a pickup) as well as four disc brakes on the trailer. The tandem trailer is quite stable so no worries.
  10. A VW Touareg TDI has a tow capacity of 7700 lbs and is a great daily vehicle. I use mine to tow my boat to the lake at the beginning of the season and home from the lake at the end. It's about 25 miles and includes a climb over a low mountain pass (1000ft vert). It pulls like a champ (and better than the chevy 1500 that was used previously). The 3.0 V6 diesel is more fuel efficient than any gas powered engine in a 5000 lb vehicle too.
  11. I put the hitch on a block of wood so it's the actual tongue weight. When I used the jack the load was 682 lbs.
  12. I pulled my 2014 SV244 onto a scale on the highway when I purchased it. Had some gear and half a tank of gas and it totalled 7200#'s. 440 at the ball and 6740 on the tandem axle.
  13. First boat

I've surfed all these hull types and if I surfed goofy footed I would purchase the VLX. Newer the better with the "wake" hull. I think they had a diamond hull and something else. One of them produces a better wake than the other. The Malibu will have the nicest interior of the bunch as well. To make a large improvement in the stock wakesurf wave you will require extra weight in the bow and the rear locker/under the starboard side seats. I did once own a 2002 Supra SSV22 and it produced a nice port side wakesurf wave but we never tried the starboard side. Maybe hit up the Supra/Moomba forums for their reviews.
  14. Started with a 2002 Supra SSV22 and had to sac out the seats for a good wakesurf wave. Decided I wanted a great wakesurf wave (we ride regular) so did my research and purchased an 07 SV230. Did some serious mods to the ballast system to have an epic port side wake with no sacs on the seats and no lead in the boat. After four seasons decided I wanted more interior room and a more versatile wake. We wanted easy adjustability for skim or surf style wake, as well as riding goofy once in awhile. After much research I purchased a 2014 SV244. The boat is amazing and the wake is easily very adjustable. CATS make it easy. Interior is enormous and there is tons of storage (non ramfill). The only downside is with a small crew the boat needs extra weight so we have to use 400#'s of lead (I don't want any sacs on the seats). If the majority of your time is riding the port side then a standard rotation propeller is the way to go. If you're goofy then I would not purchase this boat without a reverse rotation prop.
  15. CGA vests

Looking to get my teenagers some new CGA vests. What models are the most 'comp' like? We're not fans of the big bulky life vests but want approved ones for our kids and their friends.
  16. I'm now at 350 hours and wondering about spark plugs, transmission and v-drive service. Has anyone serviced these items? The manual seems to indicate they only need checks.
  17. Thanks BongoFury. Three seasons of fun surfing this boat. One of our boys graduated high school this year so we missed a few weekends in June and only put 100 hours this season.
  18. Nice riding Dark! Good tune too
  19. Surf style 720

I'm landing the three's most of the time and now want more. Any good instruction out there?
  20. That bracket looks good. I'd still like to see the down pipe angled backwards.
  21. There's no bracket holding that FAE. What boat is that on?
  22. Ri237 prop options?

Don't most wake hulls flatten out towards the back of the boat which would increase the distance from the prop to the hull without having a steep shaft angle. If Centurion just flattened the V a little from the shaft back they would create the prop gap required for a larger prop.
  23. SV230 vs SV233 hull

That sac is for a boat that has sideswipe exhaust. Only half of the rear locker gets filled
  24. SV230 vs SV233 hull

But as Chexi stated, the SV233 has a better interior layout, a more adjustable wake, and ramfill if you want to switch sides quickly. If you are going to ride the starboard side regularly you would probably want to break the "enzo" sacs into two separate sacs on each side of the boat with a custom pumping system. My SV230 was only used as a port side boat. My goofy friends had to ride heel side.
  25. SV230 vs SV233 hull

I had an 07 SV230 and it put out one of the best port side wakesurf waves around, especially considering we did not require lead weight in the boat or extra fat sacs on the seats with a small crew. Mine did not have sideswipe exhaust so I had a custom sac made that filled the entire locker and all the way up under the port side seat. It probably carried about 1800#'s of water. I then put a 400# sac under the starboard seat behind the driver for some counter weight that really gave the wake power.. The wakeplate was used to shape the wave and knock down the spray but usually in the 30-40% range and 11.3-5 mph was money. Here are a couple vids of the wake: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6PX7jp7dJxo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWA7QvyHbnA
