Do you have an integrated bow sac in your Enzo 230?
Dreamer replied to Daylorb's topic in Centurion Boat Accessories, Electronics and Modifications
WHAT!?! You have to put a 750# fat sac in the storage area behind the observer seat to make a great surf wave, even with the enzo sac. What do you do for storage? I convinced my wife to let me purchased an SV230 over the winter by selling her on the fact that you only need an enzo sac to have a great wave. She hated all the extra sacs on the seats of our old boat. -
New Fly High Jumbo V-Drive Surf Sac
Dreamer replied to duffymahoney's topic in Centurion Boat Accessories, Electronics and Modifications
Did you reinforce the dividers on your enzo? I just had the enzo sac installed in my SV230 and the divider seems pretty flimsy. Should I be concerned? -
This looks pretty nice: http://portland.craigslist.org/wsc/boa/1618436799.html

The Black Scorpion is the better engine and worth more money. If you ever start loading your boat down with ballast you will appreciate the stronger engine.

I have done a ton of research on buying a new boat if those are your options I would get the Moomba LSV. If you want to spend just a little bit more then the Centurion Avalanche would be your best bet. There is nothing wrong with the Falcon or the Elite V, they are amazing boats but the LSV out-performs them for all watersports.

If you lived in Australia, you might buy this?
Dreamer replied to WakeDoc's topic in Centurion Boats General Discussion
Hey WakeDoc, just curious where you would rank the SV230's surf wake in among those other boats. -
Does anyone know how the ballast was set up in this enzo? It looks like some lead weight on the rear of the boat. http://vimeo.com/8087257

That extra weight on the platform really makes the wake tall and steep close to the boat. My Supra was the same way, an extra bag of weight or a 200# guy sitting on the back corner seemd to make a big difference.

Synthetic Blend Oil
Dreamer posted a topic in Centurion Boat Maintenance, Performance, Troubleshooting
I was just reading the Mercruiser manual (330hp Scorpion) and they recommend a synthetic blend oil with change intervals at 100 hours. What oil and change intervals do you use? -
Synthetic Blend Oil
Dreamer replied to Dreamer's topic in Centurion Boat Maintenance, Performance, Troubleshooting
Every 20 hours seems pretty extreme. The standard for dino oil is 50 hours which is what my 2002 Supra has in its maintenance guide. I would bet that Mercruiser has done plenty of testing on oil and change intervals otherwise they would not recommend it and warranty the engine. Oil change intervals are more about contaminants in the oil than the oil breaking down and synthetic oil takes a long time to break down. Airlines use full synthetic in their engines and the oil never gets changed. I am just wondering what synthetics are being used. -
Did the 230 come with room for a center sac as well? It might be nice to plumb something in there.

Heater installation
Dreamer posted a topic in Centurion Boat Accessories, Electronics and Modifications
I am having a dealer install a heater in my SV230 and I was wondering where you have your pull out vents. I am thinking of having one for the driver and two for the passengers. Can you post up some pictures of yours please. -
Good idea. I found a local company that will cut it down and rebalance it for me.

Has anyone tried fitting a 14" prop to their enzo? I spoke with Bill at Acme and he seems to think the 1433 prop I run on my Supra will work on an enzo. You need only 0.5" clearance to the from the prop to the hull.
-
Do you guys find that when you move up a few props (537-1579 or similar) that there is more wash on the surf wave? With the upgraded prop the rpm's are higher and throwing more water up the wake. Does this extra holeshot power not get the boat on plane sooner which works against what we want for surfing?

Does anyone have more than one rack per side on their evolution tower? Can you post up some pics please. Thanks, John

More than one rack on Evo tower
Dreamer replied to Dreamer's topic in Centurion Boats General Discussion
Next time you are with your boat could you take a few pictures of this rack setup and pm them to me please. I was looking at the Dbot add on but your setup looks good and I would like to duplicate it. -
I think it would be around 2". I have this rack to store it in.
-
I have a Thresher and love it. If you weigh more than 170# you might have to work it pretty hard to stay in the wave, I am about 162# and have no problems with it. It will heel dent up pretty quick but from what I have read it is not a big deal.
-
To anyone who has this tower, can you post up some pictures of your speaker setup please. Also, Do you have to duck to walk under your setup?
-
Not the same tower. This tower is on the 2005 Enzo. I am just wondering if you can get speakers on that curved bar so a 6' person can still walk under the middle portion of the tower.
-
I have been looking at purchasing an SV230 Enzo to be used mostly for wakesurfing and I noticed that the 2005 boat dry weight is 3500# and an 09 is listed at 4400#. What makes the newer boats weigh so much more? I assume the extra 900# would make a big difference in the wake size as the draft of the 09 beat is 2" more than an 05.
-
I have an Acme 1433 prop on the boat so the engine did not struggle at all. We run at 11mph. Any videos on an SV230 with just an enzo sac?
-
This is my Supra SSV with 2500# of ballast, two ladies in the boat and a 200# guy on the rear corner. I would like as big or larger wake without having someone sit at the rear of the boat or the two extra fat sacs on the seats. If the SV230 with an enzo sac (and maybe a bow sac) is not a better wake I probably will not upgrade.
-
I am considering purchasing a 230 Enzo to be used mostly as a wakesurf boat as well. If the boat is fitted with an enzo sac and bow ballast sac only would the wave be close to a competition surf wave or would you need a bunch of people in the boat as well?
