PROP CLEARANCES ?
Dreamer replied to falcon_v's topic in Centurion Boat Maintenance, Performance, Troubleshooting
so the tip clearance means the entire blade clearance, not just the point? I might have to put the stock prop back on and measure it. -
PROP CLEARANCES ?
Dreamer replied to falcon_v's topic in Centurion Boat Maintenance, Performance, Troubleshooting
I just pulled the stock 13.5x17.5 off my SV230 and installed the modified Acme 1433 from my previous boat. I had it cut down to a 13.5" diameter. The tip distance to the hull is 3/4" but as I spin the blade the edge of the blade gets as close as 1/2". Is this too close? -

I guess one day after I have dialed in my wake I will remove my wakeplate and see if there is a significant difference. -

Hey Duffy, did you try the wake plate way up without the FAE? The extra wash may just be from the prop. -
Evolution tower bimini help required
Dreamer replied to Dreamer's topic in Centurion Boats General Discussion
The bimini fits fine when I am using it but I would like to be able to store it on the tower when it is not in use. Unfortunatly the clips are angled the wrong way to snap into the tower. Do yours rotate or are they fixed? -
Evolution tower bimini help required
Dreamer replied to Dreamer's topic in Centurion Boats General Discussion
This information has help me get the bimini installed and opened up nice and easy. Thanks to all of your help. Now I just have to figure out how to store it on the tower. The longer bars will not clip into the front brackets. They are either angled out or in depending on which way I flip the bimini. Here are a few pictures of what is happening. -
This is the best place to order from in Canada. http://www.shuswapsnb.com/

The boat weighs 4400# dry, the trailer specs say 1500# plus lets say 500#'s of fuel and gear my total comes to 6400#. Is the tongue weight about 10% or 640#?

My enzo left LA yesterday and will be in Canada tomorrow. I am so excited that I am anticipating wake surfing in the sub 50'F air and water.

My new Enzo is on it's way north

I wish the prop was the 537. It would perform much better. There are no dings on the prop it is just not as well insulated as my previous boat. -

I have the Scorpion 330 engine but my manual has the same break-in procedure. I think the things to avoid are a constant rpm for extended periods and wot during these early hours. -

Ok, it looks like I will try and get the 20 hour break in period before I fill up the enzo sac and surf. The rain finally stopped for a few hours on the weekend so we headed to the lake and got 2.5 hours on it. I brought my 11 and 9 year old boys and they each brought a friend. I let them drive the boat around the lake all day. I told them to cruise between 1500 - 3500 rpm. They mostly did figure eights in the middle of the lake. Fun times. Here are a few things I noticed: The enzo was not as quiet or refined as my previous boat, an 02 Supra SSV which really suprised me. It just did not seem to have much insulation or vibration dampening as compared to the Supra. How have your Centurions compared to other boats? The boat was a little gutless as well. I have to get that 13.5x17.5 prop changed as soon as the engine is broken in. I have an Acme 1433 from my Supra that I had trimmed to 13.5" and cupped at 0.185 that I will try. I can not believe that Centurion would put such a prop on a boat this heavy. Anyway, 17.5 more hours to go before I fill the enzo sac and ride! -
wakeplate, is this right?
Dreamer replied to smitty1258's topic in Centurion Boat Accessories, Electronics and Modifications
The Bennet trim tab on my SV230 only comes up enough to be parallel with the bottom of my hull as well. I have wondered if it can be modified to come up further for the surf wake without drilling new holes in the rear of the boat. -

Awesome, thanks. It looks like I need a spacer between the rim and the frame.

I picked up a couple of 1/2"x6" bolts and bolted the spare to the trailer but it does not seem right. The spare wobbles as it trailer frame is not tight to the wheel. I would expect that if I cranked it down I would deform the tire sidewall. Can someone chime in on their mounting underneath their boat please. Thanks in advance.
-
I kept the spare from my previous boat (Supra). The mag wheel looks the same and tire size is the same so I am assuming the lug pattern musr be the same. I might head out to Home Depot and get two bolts that fit the lug nut and just bolt it down to the trailer instead of a U bolt.

Evolution tower bimini help required
Dreamer replied to Dreamer's topic in Centurion Boats General Discussion
Here is a picture from above the tower. The legs only go in until they touch the front section of the tower. Look at the bolts that attach the two halves of the tower together, should they be centered or does it not matter. -
My trailer looks like it will hold a spare tire like the one in the picture. Do I just need a U bolt to hold it in place?

Thanks Trevor, it is the same bimini as yours. Where do you start when you are putting it on, front or back? Is there a reason you do not have your velcro attached to the side tubes? -

The lake is not as busy as I had heard. We were on their a ton last season and never had problems. I do not know all of the places to avoid yet so I just stay away from the islands. It is pretty deep for the most part though. The best launch is off Recreation Road, on the east side of the lake. -

It is an SV230. We are in Victoria and we mostly ride at Shawnigan Lake, though we do a couple of camping trips to Sprout lake. Did you guys do the 20 hour "take is easy" break-in or did you load the ballast and surf right away?
