  1. I have a 06 Air Warrior w/ the 5.7 Mercruiser Black Scorpion & I'm getting a beep warning at 3500 rpms. My buddy told me to replace the knock sensor, so I ordered one. For the life of me, I cannot locate the knock sensor on the engine block. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  3. Thanks for the feedback. On the lift, when I say "dead", the boat would beep at a half turn on the key, but if I turned the ignition all the way (to start the engine), I would get nothing. no clicking, no lagged-drained battery attempt to turn over. nothing. I double check all of the fuses & wiring connections and everything looks fine. the gauges all work when the ignition is turned on, as does power to all ballast, & stereo switches. I thought maybe the radio was draining the battery, so I unhooked it & isolated a single battery (that was recharged), and still nothing. I'm now wondering if perhaps the starter is locked up & needs replaced. Not sure though.
  4. We keep our boat at a local marina & the last couple times I've went to use it, it appears that the batteries are dead and it won't start. I have replaced both batteries and double checked all battery harnesses. Everything is good. Yesterday, we were out on the boat for a few hours & as I started the boat to head back to the marina it would barely turn over. About that same time, I had a small rattle noise coming from the engine compartment, just as the boat would go from idle into gear. When I throttled up just a little bit, the rattle would go away. It drove fine back to the marina, but when I got it back on the lift, I tried to start it again & it was dead. I charged both of the new batteries the night before & then brought a battery home to check it & it's still nearly 100% charged. When the boat is running the Volt meter is right at 13 volts. I had the belt & impeller replaced at the dealer this spring and now I am wondering if maybe the tech knocked something loose when he was working on my boat. I am not good with electrical issues, so any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  5. Wow. Thanks a ton Shaka. I had a zip tie in the bilge. Great call, I appreciate all the help!
  6. I'm at a loss. I took my 06 Air Warrior to the lake today & ran it for about 5 hours. during that time the bilge kicked on (automatically) one time. When I was trailering, I ran the bilge off the toggle switch (at the launch). No problems. I get home & put the boat in my garage & everything is fine. I go back to my garage-5 hours later & I hear something running, and it turns out that its my bilge pump. I figure that I must have bumped the switch when I was wiping things down. But it turns out that the bilge is running automatically. I try the switch & no luck. I end up having to turn it off at the Perko switch. Help Please.

  8. I have an 06 Air Warrior. Last fall I replaced the steering cable-surprising how big of a difference a new cable makes. I only got it on the water once with the new cable (before winter), and I took it out for the first time last week and the steering has some play in it-almost a 1/4 turn, before the rudder moves. I can't see anything slipping & am wondering if this is the new cable getting "broke in" or if there is something else I should be looking at? T
  9. I am trying to decipher the part number/cable size for my 06 Elite V. From what I can tell, the SSC134 is the model # and then the next two number are the length(?). If you look at the pic, it looks like the last two numbers are 2 and 0. But the last one is kind of smeared off. If someone could confirm or redirect me, that would be awesome. Thanks, in advance.
  10. I've had my boat for a couple of weeks now & everything is going great. I went out on a buddies boat the other day - 06 Tige 22ve & was impressed with how loose/easy it was to work the steering wheel-compared to my boat. It has me wondering if I need to look at replacing the cable in my boat. Although the hours are low, the boat is still 10 years old. I'm wondering if a stiffer feel is normal on an 06' elite v? Any thoughts are much appreciated.
  11. thanks for all of the great advice. living in Wyoming, I've only got a month (hopefully more) of boating left in the season. so i'm planning on the ballast over haul being a winter project. i'll be sure to check with wake makers & probably end up going with the reversible system. I mean, if that's what all the cool kids are doing...i'm pumped about my new purchase & really appreciate all of the amazing resources on this forum! Thanks to all of you for the feedback & thanks for tolerating the many future rookie questions to come.
  12. I just bought an 06' Elite V. It has the stock tank in the floor and it came with some non-plumbed 900 sumo sacks. I want to automate the fill with switches & I'm wondering what the best set up might be. A buddy told me that it would be best to go with the more pricey two-way pump (one for each locker). Thoughts? I'm also curious if I can splice off the existing water intake for the hard tank to pull in water, or if I need to put another hole in the hull (yikes). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  13. Looking for first family/surf boat

It has 500lbs' in the back lockers & a 250 in the bow. Will that suffice?
  14. I'm an aspiring boat owner & am looking for something that can pull the kids' tube, but that I can also surf behind. I've been looking at a 2000 elite v that has a ballast system & perfect pass. Wondering if anyone can tell me how legit of a surf wave this boat can throw?
