  1. Let's talk wakesurf boards...

The first questions would be are you committed to surf or skim. All else comes from that. Even if you ride both, you like have a preference. I am a big advocate for P5. A family owned business all made in the USA. They are continuing to improve the surf line, but their skim line is outstanding. I am 5-11 and 195 and ride the Matrix. The matrix is a lot different from the hammerhead because it is a bit more twitchy as I say. loose. Either you like it or you don't. They have a new board called the Hipsta, Real easy to ride and good for a lot of things. Wide rear makes it more difficult to ride revert, but I do it. I use it with one fin, but it comes with three. very fast
  2. These are legit reasons to not have RamFil, not to mention the issues they had with the initial valves etc. Luckily they are worked out. I opted for RamFil on my 2014 233 without PNP because I keep my boat on a lift and can use hard weight to compensate for the PNP. I have plenty of storage because of this and the wake is GREEEEAT. My initial valves got replaced and have had no issues with the RF. I love my music but I guess not as much as you Re!
  3. That is what I would do. Will you attend the Customer Appreciation Day at Transition?
  4. There is surf-able and there is SURF-ABLE.... not the same. You need the bags!
  5. If you ever need help, let me know. We are from Sarasota/Lake Placid Florida.
  6. Once you ride a really really good wave, you will never want to go back. We surfed and did 3's behind an old direct drive Tige but once we rode the SV233 we could hardly do anything behind the old Tige. A great wave will also allow you to improve and enjoy the ride substantially more. my.02
  7. Unorthodox ballast set up

I hate a bag anywhere it can be seen. I occasionally have a fat brick when there are just two of us riding, Years ago I was able to buy reclaimed lead shot for a gun shop. I put it in 1 gallon gas containers. They are easy to move around and or remove. 1 gal can weighs about 50lbs when near full.
  8. Yes, I have ridden the RI in competition. My comment after my run at Worlds this past year was, " I felt like I was behind my own boat". The wave on the 237 was great as is my boat. Is it better, probably yes, but not so significant that I am willing to pony up the money. Some carefully placed lead is a lot cheaper. I agree with you that looks and the wave are very much subjective and are in the eye of the beholder. I feel like my 233 looks like a sports car compare to the RI series SUV's. I was sad that they discontinued the SV line.
  9. I have ridden all of the Centurion boats and none have a significantly better wave than my SV.
  10. Centurion's Line for 2017

I am with you Bongo. The market has priced me out of the game. Fortunately, I am very happy with the 233. I love the low sleek look and I have a great wave. Maybe a new truck is a better investment for me? hmmmmm
  11. I need to get a new prop and I was wondering what people were using on their 233's and how many rpm's they run while surfing? My prop got damaged against my lift in a storm and the reconditioning doesn't seem to return it to new. I experience some vibration at 3400 rpm's. Also, I used to run 3200-330 rpm's while surfing and now I have inched over 3400. Thought and comments or advise????
  12. SV233 prop and rpm"s

I have the same prop with similar numbers at sea level.
  13. SV233 prop and rpm"s

Shaft, rudder and engine alignment have been checked
  14. How Many Hours This Season?

When you put it that way it sounds real bad, but yes I burn fuel at 6.5 gal / hour. Almost all of my boat time is spent surfing and very little time doing other things.
  15. How Many Hours This Season?

Down a little this year at 200. That number is also off the dock and ready to surf once ramfil is full. Elite is burning 2 gal per hour..... how is that? I am at about 6.5 gal/hr
  16. Centurion's Line for 2017

It is my understanding that the list will be somewhere around 160k
  17. Phase five board question

I will put my .02 for the mini Matrix which is 48" long. My daughter rides it and she is about same size etc. The board is very light and responsive a much different feel from the LUV. It would come down to personal preference.
  18. Surf board

IS makes a good board, but I like Phase 5 better in part because they are made in the US. I am a proponent of getting a good board and not cutting corners. I learned this the hard way. Good equipment makes it easier to learn. YOu never said surf or skim?
  19. 2015 SV233 bow ballast

I do not move anything. I have about equal weight on both sides. The rear lockers have about 250# or so using weight plates that I have covered with a plastic bag and waterproof duct tape. The beauty of the weight plates is they are thin and can fit in the small space under the seats.. I have about 125# under the side seats on each side. I add about 100# in the battery storage area and a 150# under the center bow cushion, You can often find weight plates for sale on Craigslist reasonably priced.
  20. 2015 SV233 bow ballast

Some people do not sue bow weight and others do. I am in favor of it for the regular side wake.I remove a good portion for the goofy wake. I use the bow plus about 200#. In addition, I do not have PNP because I use hard weight. This allows me to keep my storage lockers in the rear.
  21. The new update is not recognizing the model boat you have most likely. The dealer settings will have a choice of boats to select within the touch screen and allow you to see your boat and the ballast.
  22. I had a 2013 233 before my 2014 model and both had a wonderful wave. I would place a form of hard weight under the bags and never put anything on the seat unless it was just two of us and then I only used a fat brick. I used plates from a weight set wrapped in plastic and moisture resistant duct tape. These lie flat and can be relatively inexpensive. You can sometimes find these weights on Craigslist cheap. I would consider my wave pro level.
  23. The wake behind a boat is purely personal preference. For instance, I always put bow weight in my boat and quite a bit of it and I consider my wake to be pro level. It is the way my family likes it. All I am saying is to try out different set ups and find what YOU like. The best time is when you have a bunch of people and you can easily move them around. I have a had two 233's and I am tweaking the set up all the time.
  24. March Pictures and Videos

In Florida we can ride with just two people as long as we have a large mirror. I forget the number of square inches. When we have just two people, I add a fat brick in the seat corner. I HATE bags on the seats.
